  1. yeah i will be there with my wife and kids and my neighbor with his family possibly a co worker with his son just for saturday. i should be there by 9am my kids are looking forward to toastin up some marshmallows that night :beerpint: whats everyones favorite beverage of course i know its beer, i will bring some for everyone to share.

  2. we might be heading out on that saturday. i missed the ride on t-day one of my friends banshee lost a piston in the bowl so we left early. we just took out the family yesterday and boy were the dunes sweet, so smooth. only 2 other people out there camping so the kids were able to go free. now they want to go back again so it looks like the 10th is another family day.

  3. sand yfz thank you very much for the jetting help it was soooooo much better the only thing i didnt do was adjust the fuel mixture screw only because i wasnt sure exactly where it was i have never messed with carbs before and it seemed everybody i knew said it was something different so to be safe i didnt listen to any of em. i am thinking about doing some more ez mods to my bike in the future like maybe cams and a rev box not sure though.

  4. the concept of using a drill isnt such a bad idea to spin it up. back a few years ago before roto starts my buddy fabbed a piece up to be able to use a drill to spin it. it was cheaper than a starter box and better than a pull start. thats why i have always liked electric no matter what the barometer says it always runs the same. i know nitro is fast, sounds cool and smells good but its also a pain the majority of the time. but to each his own its like trx vs yfz as long as you have fun thats what counts

  5. what kind of car or truck is that you are having trouble with? i had a tmaxx for a bit but never could get the tranny to shift right. mostly its all electric dirt oval, paved oval, off road cars and trucks 2wd and 4wd, 4wd touring sedans, 1/18th scale mini-t's. i recently got some paddles and razor fronts for 1 of my mini-t's so time to try em out

  6. was this taken veterans day weekend i saw several kids around comp hill riding banshees and yfz's going up the hill and not even have a clue as to what is going on. its obvious when they all of a sudden make a turn to come back down without even paying attention to others around them. do the rangers enforce any of this on the bigger weekends.

  7. right on thanks sandyfz i will most definetly give it a whirl we have another family trip planned for the 30th and i might possibly be heading up with some buddies at thanksgiving. i have pulled the main jet before without pulling the carb do i need to pull it to get to the other jet. thanks again to all you fellow duners for help. i wish pulling the plug was a little easier to take a reading but oh well.

  8. and i always thought banshees were the way to go, not that there is anything wrong with banshees. it just seems everybody and company makes everything to have a screamin dune banshee. i have been extremly happy with my yfz i have friends that have all the other variaties and all they want to do is race each time we go for a ride. i dont really care if a trx is faster or not i just enjoy riding.

  9. yeah i will check that out again it seemed each article i had looked i hadnt found anybody that rode or gave suggestions for dumont thats why when i found you guys i was happy that at least i would be talking mostly to guys from the same riding spot. i will go back and register with them to and look for any help.

  10. elevation in barstow is 2106. i am really hoping to get it fixed by the 30th as i am taking the family back up again along with my buddy and his family. i have another friend who has a ton of jets and said i could have what i want and they are all keihins so i will be saving a little money on that.

  11. Glad you found the forum... Please refrain from using all caps when posting it ensinuates that your YELLING at everyone.. :D

Where did you buy your bike from? What elevation do you usually ride when the bike feels like it has the most power?? Typically the higher you go elevation wise the leaner you need to make your bike... BUT if you ride the deserts and what not of vegas and surrounding areas at over 2000 feet then drop down to dumont at sea level its possible that your getting TOO RICH... its hard to tell without physically hearing or seeing how the bike reacts... and any other information about it... but im willing to bet its just a jetting thing and isnt tht complicated to cure..

caps off, lol i bought the bike from a mutual friend he is the one who had the pipe added white bros told me i should have a 162 jet in it with the pipe kit but when i pulled the jet it was a 168. prodesigns said rejetting was not required with the air filter kit. i am not sure of the sea level i am in barstow, ca and all my riding is around here. i just replaced my plug with a new one because i started having a slight problem around here and after replacemant it seemed fine. my first ride of the day on friday was ok but i still had a slight problem. something i hadnt thought about was i usually take my kids out for rides one is a raptor 80 and the other a 4 zinger (60cc) which means lots of slow riding i dont really get past 3rd. after our ride around the dunes i went back out with a buddie and my problem seemed worse. now i realize my jetting is off but could the slower cruises cause my bike to maybe load up? thanks for any help

  12. HEY FELLAS GLAD TO FIND SOMEBODY WITH SOME TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS ON YFZ SETUPS. I WILL GLADLY TAKE ANY SUGGESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE. 04 YFZ WITH A WHITE BROS SLIP ON, PRODESIGNS AIRFILTER, 168 MAIN JET, 21-12-10 SAND SKATES ON ITP C SERIES WHEELS, STOCK TIRES UP FRONT FOR NOW UNSURE OF WHAT FRONT TIRES TO GET. I PRIMARILY RIDE IN THE DESERT BUT AM WANTING A SETUP TO CHANGE TO WHEN HEADING TO THE DUNES. NOT A LOT OF EXPERIENCE IN THE DUNES BUT THIS PAST WEEKEND WAS AWESOME. MY BIKE SEEMED TO START CUTTING OUT OR BLUBBERING WHEN REACHING THE TOPS AND POWER WAS LOST. WHEN DOWN SHIFTING IT DIDNT ALWAYS SEEM TO PICK RIGHT BACK UP. NEVER HAD TO TUNE MY BIKES BEFORE SO A LITTLE UNSURE OF WHICH WAY TO GO WITH GEARING OR JETTING. I AM ALSO LOOKING AT CHANGING MY REARS TO EITHER ITPS OR SKAT TRAK EDGES AS THESE SEEM ALOT TALLER THAN WHAT I BELIEVE I NEED. :beercheers:

  13. I JUST WENT ON FRIDAY THE 11TH FOR A DAY TRIP FIRST TIME IN ABOUT 20 YEARS TOOK THE FAMILY AND BOY WAS IT A BLAST. MY WIFE OR DAUGHTERS HAD NEVER BEEN. GOT SOME PADDLES FOR MY 4 YEAR OLDS YAMAHA ZINGER AND SHE WAS ALL OVER THE PLACE. I WAS WONDERING IF ANYBODY HAD ANY SUGGESTIONS OR INFO ON JETTING AND OR GEARING. I WAS PRIMARILY A DESERT RIDER BUT NOW I CAN SEE MORE DUMONT TRIPS ARE IN OUR FUTURE. I HAVE A 04 YFZ450 WITH WHITE BROS PIPE, PRODESIGNS AIR FILTER, 168 MAIN JET. I KNOW IT SEEMS ITS NOT THE BEST DUNE BIKE AS 2 STROKES WERE THE POPULAR. BUT IM NOT OUT TO BEAT ANYBODY JUST HAVIN FUN. I WOULD LIKE THE POWERBAND TO BE A LITTLE MORE CONSISTENT THOUGH AND NOT CUT OUT SO MUCH.
