  1. Ok the venue for the Fight Gone Bad 5 competition, benefiting The Wounded Warrior Project and Lance Armstrong Foundation is set for September 25 at 1:00pm. It will be held in the parking lot of the Whole Foods at Town Square. We will be competing with other gyms such as Crossfit 702, Iron Edge Crossfit from Mesquite and of course, my gym, Crossfit Las Vegas. This event will be sure to produce blood, sweat and tears and it would be awesome to get the Dumont Dune Riders community to come out and cheer some Warriors on during the toughest 17 minutes. For those of you who donated to may page so far, THANK YOU! For those who haven't, I'm asking, begging and pleading...donate to the great causes I am fighting for. 100 percent of the donations will go directly to help a wounded warrior returning from the battlefield, adjust back into the civilian world with new limbs, mental toughness help and so much more. My fund raising page is https://rapidgiving.com/fundraising/page/36...ight-gone-bad-5 and the DONATE button is at the bottom. This donation is 100 percent tax deductible. 6 more days until this event takes off, I'd love to see some of you out there cheering on the athletes/warriors.

    Thank you in advance

  2. Fight Gone Bad 5 has now reached 6 COUNTRIES folks, please donate if you can. It is now being held in the parking lot of Whole Foods on LV Blvd/Sunset in Town Square. It's rumored that Fox 5 News will be there to cover the event. This is going to be a kick in the a$$! Hope to see some of you out there cheering on a bunch of Warriors battling it out to raise money for some great causes.

  3. A good friend of mine does CrossFit, been doing it for a long time, Travis is his name, wife named Loren.

Yep I train with both of them, Lauren trains my kids in Crossfit Kids. They are great people!

  4. Well guys, Fight Gone Bad 5 is on the horizon for me. September 25, 2010 will be one day, one very BRUTAL workout at Crossfit Las Vegas. Among the charities that I'm raising money for is one that is very near and dear to my heart, The Wounded Warrior Project http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/. This day is sure to produce blood, sweat and probably tears. This is my donation page https://rapidgiving.com/fundraising/page/36...ight-gone-bad-5 and if anyone can donate, even if it's a dollar, it would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the link to Fight Gone Bad 5 http://fgb5.org/ for a little reading.

Fight Gone Bad is one of the CrossFit benchmark workouts. It was designed to simulate the time domain of a mixed martial arts bout of five minutes of work followed by one minute of rest. It has been used in 3 and 5 round versions. The workout first appeared on CrossFit.com on 1 December 2004. It was so named after BJ Penn, a professional mixed martial artist, remarked that it was like a "fight gone bad" when asked how it compared to a real fight.

    Thanks

  5. So I get a call from the storage unit today and they tell me that someone had backed into my 5th wheel that's backed into a covered spot on the end. So I head down there and find that a guy who owns a big azz motorhome that parks next to me misjudged his spot and hit the trailer. It ended up crunching the front bedroom corner pretty good, knocked it off the blocks that the jacks are on and pushed it into the wall behind it, essentially turning the rear of the garage to become an accordion. Mind you, it pushed the trailer about 4 feet backwards and he said he "Just bumped it". Luckily he reported it, filled out a report and has insurance. So down to Johnnie Walker it goes next week. Total waste of my time to get it fixed..sonofabitch! I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

  6. cool pics ! are the people nice ? does thier economy suck like ours right now ?

The people there are just plain mean. They shake you down for money every chance they get. Their economy is far from ours, they are flourishing in a big way.

  7. Spent a few days out of the US but, Moscow was a first for me. The temps were hella cold, ranging from -7 to like 15 degrees for the highs. It snowed most of the time but there was one sunny day while I was there. I will never, ever say traffic is bad again! The traffic there is like LA during rush hour multiplied by 100! It took me 1h 10m to go 5 miles but there wasn't a single horn blowing or any crashes, just traffic. So here are some pictures I was able to snap. It sure is good to be home, no matter how many times I step foot back on US soil, the feeling is always the same..AWESOME! :ban-split::shots:

  8. I just wanted to wish all you DDR peeps a Happy Thanksgiving! Although we never go to D for T-day, I think next year we are going to start a new tradition in our family. I just got a new turkey fryer (NO oil required) it works off infrared and I don't know how it does it but, it cooked a perfect 20# turkey today that was the best I have ever had. Now that I have that little toy in the tool box, I think T-day at D will be very easy!

Anyhow, I hope you all had a wonderful and safe day. This weekend, the toys get their yearly pre-season treatment and I get 4 days out at Dumont December 4-7 :B :B

  9. I wanted to put this out to all my fellow DDR peeps. On November 22, hosted by Crossfit Las Vegas, Tony Blauer from Blauer Tactical Systems will be putting on a Rape-Safe Personal Safety Seminar. Below is the link to the event. You need not be a member of Crossfit Las Vegas to attend this seminar. The world we live isn't getting any better and I for one love my wife enough to dish out the $150 so that she can get some training on getting out of a bad situation.

  10. Great photo Mike! Glad you didn't have enough brain cells to move out of the way, it would have sucked not to see that picture :P

On a side note, I FINALLY picked up my 50D last week, now to get a new lens :B

  11. Damn Ash. You have all the stories. :laughoff::old:

Sorry to hear that, but glad nobody was hurt.

I see that truck all the time around Hendo.

Hmmm, considering it's SUPPOSED to be a work truck that works at NIGHT :B thanks for the info Pete

  12. Okay so I get a call at 4:30pm today from my foreman. He says that someone had crashed into my work trailer and my F250 that was parked in his driveway. My foreman was pretty pissed off and after I calmed him down, I headed that way to see what all the hub bub was about. Well when I show up, this is what I see and to be quite honest, I got pretty pissed off too! It seems that the driver (in his late 70's) fell asleep going down a residential neighborhood road in excess of 50mph. He took out an entire block wall before taking out my foreman's block wall, my work trailer and moving my truck about 15 feet sideways. At what point do you at the DMV office say, I think it's time to take away the driver's license? Not only did he take out all that stuff, he also took out the basketball hoop that was on the sidewalk. I can't even imagine if the kids were outside playing some ball when this happened! Thank God for PS3 and X-box 360 at this point. So without further Adieu:

And just to give you a good idea of how far it moved the truck, it was parked beside the trailer!

  13. I was notified that a great friend and person, USAF SSgt Adam Hermanson was killed in Iraq 9/2/09. Adam was as good as they come, a true WARRIOR and great friend. You will be missed Brother. He gave 'em hell in Iraq and now he's at peace in heaven. Adam leaves behind a wife and child. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts.

  15. Been there done that Tim, your daughter sure has her heart in the right place! They took off 21" from my oldest girl and 18" from my youngest. They are about at the time where they are ready to do it again. It sure makes you feel as if you are doing "something" right as a parent when your children show such a selfless act.

  16. I know Im just :stir: but what is the big deal about shooting a gun and who are you thinking of when you pull the trigger?? I have only been shooting once in my life . and i didnt get big of a thrill from it. But then again most men dont get thrills out of pedicures either lol

You're not stirring the pot at all. It's a very legitimate question. Some of us carry a firearm or multiple firearms in our job duties so shooting regularly could very well save our lives or the lives of others. Practice doesn't make perfect but it does make permanent and with every skill, it diminishes quickly. Some people shoot guns just for the heck of it because they have been shooting since they were kids and it's just part of their life, a hobby if you will. Then there are law abiding citizen's that make the choice to have a Concealed Firearms Permit and just like my first example, they practice to keep sharp. Some people are competition shooters with factory sponsorship and they do it for money, but some are LEO, MIL or other type of profession that requires they carry a gun, once again practice makes permanent and it's fun doing it. Me personally, I can't say that I think of "anyone" when I'm shooting, I just see a mass and aim at the center of it. And trust me, I enjoy and good pedicure once in a while :dunno:

Then there are the mall ninjas, oh yes they are among you. These are the special peeps, very hard to describe, but this would sum up a mall ninja redneck_swiss_army_gun.jpg

  17. I tend to shoot about 1k rounds per month of 9mm and a few hundred of .223. The answer to the ammo shortage is, stop hording the ammo. If it wasn't for all the "Chicken Little's" of the world, the skies falling, :dunno::beatdeadhorse::beatdeadhorse: there might be some ammo for your bang sticks. If the sh*t ever hits the fan, you don't need a bunch of ammo, you just need to find the first person that horded it all.

On a side note, Wal-Mart at Serene and Eastern, Sunday's around 1900 usually gets a shipment in and they do the right thing, they limit it to 6 boxes per caliber per customer.

    Happy hunting.

  18. So tonight, the wife and I decided to go to Town Square, stop by the Apple Store get a couple things and then have a peaceful dinner at the Yard House. No kids for 2 weeks, hell this is like a honeymoon. So for dessert we go to the Yogurt place that sells it for .30 an ounce. Now you say, WTF does the title have to do with that story..nothing really, just wanted to share buttttt, and I mean that in the literal terms, she walks in and OMG, are you F'n kidding me??!! I have 3 children and not once did I ever picture my wife wearing something like this. The guy she's with really does not love her, cause if he did, he would have told her "Yes honey, that outfit makes you look prego." And you expect not to get weird looks while dressed like that? So here ya go, shocker..you are pregnant and I'm sure South Beach didn't have this in mind when they made these shorts. And I am sorry if this photo is of you and your wife..really and truly, but I can't pass this up.

  19. This video has been circulating around a lot of places. I can honestly say that kid is a true warrior in the truest of terms! He made up his mind at 1m 07s in the video to absolutely do something or die. At that point in the video, the banger puts the gun to the kids head and right after they hit the ground, you can hear a shot ring out. In each of us is a primal instinct, a basic instinct of self preservation. This kid's basic instinct came to life and this my friends is an absolute perfect picture or video of the prey becoming the predator.

My hat goes off to him and his friends for laying down a good ole' fashion azz whoopn on someone who really needed it!! The sad part is, this kid is going to be looking over his shoulder for a very long time because those little punk azz gangsters are gonna want some payback.

  20. So today, the wife and I were headed back from Newport Beach after a much needed break. We got to Primm and the traffic just stopped! So I decide to get off at Buffalo Bill's area to see if I can pick up the old LA highway (LV Blvd). Nope, that ain't gonna happen cause there's no entrance. Buttt, there is an entrance to a power line road that runs parallel to I-15 North. Key word POWER LINE road, so me being the person that doesn't want A. A ticket and B. To have the Greenies have yet another thing to b*tch about with off-roaders. So I decide F it, I like spending time with the wife so we'll just wait it out, it can't be that long right? Okay, so a bunch of 4x4's decided to take the chance on the power line road and run Mach 1 through the desert beside I-15. I'd have to say upwards in the amount of 50-60 vehicles were out there, it looked like a scene from Independence Day when all the Mohos came up to Area 51. Fast forward 1.5 hours after waiting in traffic, we come up on the cause..a tour bus had burned to the frame :ah: but I think everyone made it. Now, the wait wasn't bad, the wife had her Mac and her air card so she just stayed on the computer and we talked. The b*tch of it was, you couldn't see a MF thing cause there was dust so bad from the Cocksuckers that went tearing up the desert. Okay now to the poetic justice part. Just before Jean, there's a big azz river bed that's got some serious sides to it so the moronic a-holes that got there had to hang a right, guess what that didn't work out so well. Why you ask? Because it took them East and that way is by the RR tracks which had a long a$$ train sitting on it :laughoff: So we get by the crash and away we go, watching tail lights fade off into the desert as these azzhats were either bound to get lost or run out of gas. I saw one of the SUV's that took the first attempt come out up by the prison and then looked like they were in the Baja 1000. So without further Adue, here's what it looked like from my perspective:
