So what do they consider a legal helmet? I know it has to be DOT approved, but can I use my Harley skull cap or do I have to use a full face MX helmet. Just asking

Capt, You have great points. I agree. I had expanded my thought in another post. It is a shame that our tax dollars and dune fees pay people who do not understand us and may even view us as renegade bikers... Far from the truth... I work 40+ hours a week, my wife of 30 years and I have raised three boys (still riding Dumont), never been to jail or had hand cuffs on. I pay my bills, I pay my taxes, Hell I even drive the speed limit on the streets. The Idea of someone looking out for us by attempting to keep the harder drugs out of Dumont and maybe even catch a thief or two is appealing, I think the problem is these guys need better training. I agree with you, I would be mad as hell if I was stuck out there on the road for hours while some young kid or pissed off officer tried to prove his power by making life miserable. I would even like to see a group of men and women who wanted to be out there and not just looking for some OT.... or who come to Dumont with some preconceived notion that they are going to some crazy party where we duners are going to do nothing but give them a hard time. I know that happens every big weekend there is always that 10% or we would not even be having this conversation. I just know I would offer any duner help that I would hope to get in return weather they were wearing a badge or not. I know I am a dreamer… But I still like to believe….. It is just that it would be nice if there was somewhere we could go where THE MAN wasn’t trying so hard to have a gotcha moment with us…. Thanks for listening Smokin. PS. How did we manage 10 or 15 years ago, even 20 or 25 years ago when there was no BIG brother to check for “Bad drugs” or stolen bikes? Man I guess I am just getting OLD…. How the hell did that happen???? J….

I have a feeling that those Police were tipped off. They may have come across some people that were just Medical users while they were there. But I am sure they were looking for those pills. Cops are not dumb I am sure they were walking around asking groups that met that profile. I am sure it started out with “hey gotta joint”. Right or wrong it is what it is… My family & I do not use drugs so ask me for a joint all you want. Although I agree I would lose my cool if I had some kid (cop) up my A$$ with his dog wanting to check my stuff. The man with Badge has the power. So as much as I hate it. It is Yes Sir… But come Monday I will be on the phone I pay my taxes and I vote..

Hi all, Came in Tuesday it was an awesome trip. Plenty of time with friends and family.Did not hear about the drug sniffing dogs. Sorry but good!!! Also really really good about Vin Checks. Ihave worked too hard. To have my stuff stolen. For those People whose stuff is stolen I hope they get it back…. Hunted house was awesome even better than last year.Thank you for sharing!!!!
