  2. i know its contraversial when you complain about LEO's . however i feel it needs to be mentiomed . let me start with i am not a drug user. all that know me know this to be obviously true. With that said i do not hold it against others that do ( to a certain point) you start driving the dunes on drugs and putting others at risk your a retard perioud end. A drug dog at Dumont? all i see is a terrible waste of limited recourses. When you see other needed things not being adressed out there. yet they find the time to drag out a drug dog, pay the officer overtime to work that duty is a serious waste of funds. that money comes out of our pockets. whether in taxes or land use fee's it still comes out of our pockets. Does anybody recall junkies. hanging out down there ?? or people hanging out on the corners selling drugs ?? did dumont turn into a drug hub for the cartells ?? was there some sort of study done or statistical ananlysis done that points to drugs being a primary cause of accidents?? who are the complete and utter morons in charge of the blm. they dont have the money to water the entrance road or vendors row but they have money for a drug dog, and why does it take 10 officers to hang out with that 1 drug dog down at the entrance. Not withstanding our constitutional rights being yet infringed upon again. San Bernardino just had to file bankruptcy yet there are the sheriffs out there in there buggies . do we need them on FEDERAL land ?? there are real problems in our cities . mayby we would be better served by getting in there patrol cars and stopping some real crime. not finding ways to harass middle class citizens trying to unwind. anywase let me finish with saying the blm did a fine job with the camp racers. much more mellow than days past. i appreciate the blms presence and there efforts to provide life saving help. this is not the officers in the trenches fault. fellow duners that have the time to voice opinion in the blm meetings may consider voicing this concern.

  3. I am New to the forum so I hope this is the right place to post.. Just got back from Dumont this was my first trip with the Predator in the dunes... My first time in the dunes in the pilot’s seat... Lessons I learned #1... Don't stop in the dunes, Yeap I got stuck and buried up to the skid plate. The other duners out there are just awesome 10-12 guys stoped, lifted up one side then the other, the sand fills in and done. (I will now carry one of those bar type ratcheting jacks and only stop headed downhill)... Lesson #2 When the rear wheels are off the ground DO NOT BE ON THE GAS! I swear I thought the rears were planted, anyway I broke both inner CV's on touch down, again the Dumont Dunes community to Mr. dumb-a$$'s rescue. Pretty crumby feeling stuck in the middle of nowhere and watching as the sun is going down... I swear I heard hungry coyotes! I owe some major thanks to the first man that stopped when I was stuck, he had an awesome buggy (It had a Rolex watch painted on the side) he took charged pulled in a bunch of his friends and we lifted the predator up & out. Then to the guy that stopped when I busted the CV's He tried to pull me with his Rhino but no go. Gave me a ride back to camp where I got my buddy with his big buggy. ...And my ignorance continues. Loaded up and heading out I made the foolish move of stopping next to the mall (Between the cliff and mall) with my 2wd. truck and heavy trailer... Yeap stuck again this time with the tow rig!! Morgan the welder came over and helped as did a couple guys with trucks.. You people make what could have been a horrible weekend into the best weekend I have had in a long time all due to the Dumont Community. I will pay it forward... Chris Campbell

  5. Had a great time with our camp this weekend. Went trick or treating with the kids on Sat night. I needed a costume in a hurry so I cut arms in my Honda generator cover a stuck my head thru the top I thought it looked good, but didn't get any candy, I guess I'm too old now. Went on a few rides in the early mornings and a few nights at comp. Looked to me as the turnout was a much less than most holiday weekends in the past. Everyone at our camp said the same but we still had a great time. Weather was good all weekend a little windy on Friday great for loosing my kite!!! If anyone found my shark kite flying over the finger by bathroom 5 I would like it back. If landed in your camp and caused any damage its not mine but I would still like it back . Maybe one of the kids has a pic of me with my silly costume on.
