  2. Dec 12-13 weekend is Buggy Roundup 8! This year will be a little different due to the flu that is going around and CDC guidelines, but we are still a go! Calling all sandcars! Come join us at Dumont Dunes for our 8th Annual Buggy Roundup. The Buggy Roundup is an annual Dumont trip when all the sandcar people are invited to come out and camp together as a group. We'll be camped together across from bathroom 10, just off the right side of the entrance road. This trip gives the buggy guys and girls of Dumont a chance to meet each other and run the dunes together for a full weekend without the crowds. So don't be a stranger. Every year we have new people join the camp and end up leaving as friends. There is no set schedule of events, but Saturday will likely go something like this... 8:00 AM -~10 AM: Sandcars and Coffee: Pull your car into the center of camp. (Or park it there the night before) Grab some coffee, say good morning to everyone, and check out all the buggies. Saturday Afternoon: The rest of the day will involve duning, maybe another buggy weigh-off, dune trivia, and more group dune runs! There will be no taco night this year due to the social distancing restrictions in place. Want in? Here's what you need to do. 1) At the top of this page, click GOING... 2) Bring your buggy to Dumont and join in on the fun. Don't be a stranger. Park with the group. If you don't know anyone, just ask for PETE. Forum Topic Discussion... COVID-19 Guidelines we must follow this year Stay home if you are sick Wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer Cover your nose & mouth when coughing or sneezing Regularly clean common touched items Wear a face mask when in high risk areas such as indoors (RVs) with members of other households or outdoors when 6 feet of distancing is not possible or within close proximity of each other. Please limit gatherings of people in close proximity within camp. Social distancing of 6 feet or more There will be no central campfire and each RV will have their own fire. Should anyone get sick during the event, they should leave Dumont Dunes so as to reduce the exposure potential to others at the event.

  5. March 13th weekend a handful of old school buggy guys are getting together near bathroom 8. There has been discussion on our Facebook group about it. This is not DDR's event, but I figured I'd put the date up so people know about it and can join in. It's open to whoever has an old school buggy.

  8. DDR presents the 7th Annual Buggy Roundup! Come join us on the weekend of Dec 14th! Calling all sandcars! Come join us at Dumont Dunes for our 7th Annual Buggy Roundup. This is a group trip for all the sandrail members of DDR. We'll be camped together as a group across from bathroom 10, just off the right side of the entrance road. This trip gives the buggy owners of Dumont a chance to meet each other and run the dunes together for a full weekend without the crowds. So don't be a stranger. Every year we have new people join the camp and end up leaving as friends. There is no set schedule of events, but Saturday will likely go something like this... 8:00 AM-?: Sandcars and Coffee: Pull your car into the center of camp. Grab some coffee, say good morning to everyone, and check out all the buggies. We'll do this until we get antsy to dune then we'll have a ~15 or 30 minute heads up until the first morning ride. Saturday Afternoon: The rest of the day will involve duning, maybe another buggy weigh-off, plus (new for this year) dune buggy trivia, and more dune runs! Saturday night: TACO NIGHT! We'll be serving up carne and pollo asada tacos for everyone in camp. (free for all Buggy Roundup attendees) Afterwards we'll host a raffle, light up a nice big campfire, maybe talk some smack, and possibly some ATC 70/ pitbike races...you know the usual dune stuff. Chad, aka dentboy, may put his projector up for some nightime movies, UFC, or something entertaining. We plan to set up a tent at the center of camp this year with some tunes and tables for games of flipcup! As you see it's very laid back and we don't put any expectations or tight schedules on the weekend. Afterall it's the dunes. Let's go have some fun. Want in? Here's what you need to do. 1) At the top of this page, click GOING... 2) Chime in on the forum topic and let everyone know you're coming. Add a pic of your car and rig so we know who ya are. (optional) 3) Pull up and park with the group. You know the drill. "Hey man, cool if I park here?" Let's see what kind up messed up circle we can create this year! We'll be camped in the same spot as last year across from bathroom 10 on the right side of the entrance road. It's hard packed and easy to find. FAQs I don't have a sandcar. I have a sxs/bike/quad. Can I come anyways? Of course. We love meeting and hanging out with all our friends from DDR. We only ask that everyone respect that this is an annual buggy trip focused on a gathering of the buggies of Dumont and that you please stay behind the cars on the dune runs. Different machines don't mix well when it comes to high horsepower machines. Also, when we do sandcars and coffee or if we do a group buggy photo, please respect that it is just for the buggies. Do I need to contribute anything for taco night? No. That is something we do to say thanks for coming out. If you have a side dish. margaritas or something that goes well with tacos, feel free to bring it. It's definitely not necessary though. We usually have a good spread. I want to go but I don't know anyone. That's perfect. Come out and make some new friends. Introduce yourself. Everyone that comes out each year is super cool. Do you guys run the dunes on Thursday, Friday or Sunday too? Yes! Although some only make a day trip on Saturday or pack it up and leave first thing Sunday morning, many of us are there from Wednesday until late in the day on Sunday. I (Pete) will be out there Wednesday night sometime. There may be others going out earlier and grabbing the spot before me. The best way to find out and coordinate that is on the forum topic. Post up and we'll chat about it. So don't forget to RSVP! We need to know you are coming for a food count. Hope to see you all there!

The 4th Annual Buggy Roundup Dune Trip will be Dec 9-11, 2016. This is an annual Dumont trip for all the guys and girls who have buggies. We camp together as a group across from bathroom 10 on the hard pack. This way nobody gets lost or stuck. The Buggy Roundup gives everyone a chance to meet up, hang out, and run the dunes together without the madness of a holiday weekend. New to the Roundup? No problem. Just post up on the forum topic that you are coming and you're in. The circle is big and there's always room for more. We'll make a second ring if we have to. Many of us know each other, but many don't. One thing's for sure...at the end of the weekend, total strangers end up leaving as friends. Schedule of Events There isn't one! This is Dumont. We don't look at our watches or have schedules. Sometimes we sleep in, sometimes we get up early to shred the dunes. It all depends on how much fun we had the night before. We usually hit the dunes runs whenever someone in camp yells, let's roll! Buggy Weigh In: If Ben is able to bring his scales this year like he has in the past, you'll get a chance to weigh your car. Get a full digit readout of the weight at all four corners. Place bets and talk crap about how each others car needs to go on a diet! Tacos and UFC: This year we'll be hosting tacos and UFC! We'll be grilling up carne asada for everyone and projecting UFC 206 on the side of a trailer. Grab a taco and a beer and find yourself a spot around the fire. RSVP Just post up on the forum topic and tell us you are in. Feel free to upload a pic of your rig and buggy as well. Side x Sides and Bikes We don't discriminate, however this is the BUGGY roundup. Everyone is welcome to come camp with the group, but we ask that all bikes and side x sides hop behind the buggies on dune runs. It's for your own safety. Big cars don't mix well with bikes and side x sides. Last years trip report http://www.dumontduneriders.com/invision/index.php?showtopic=20475
