  1. The people camped by us last year went and bought some from pahrump and got stoped as soon as they crossed the boarder. The highway patrol pulled them over and asked them where the fireworks were. I think the firework place called and told the chp. The guy got nailed he spend 500.00 on fireworks and got a 1000.00 ticket and got a ticket for a window tint. Watch out new years is coming i am sure there going to be watching closly.

OH! That's no good! Was that during Thanksgiving weekend or near 4th of july?? hmmmmm....This topic has been bringing up mixed responses???? :laughoff: I'm debating back and forth.

As to the rangers enjoying them too, I see that every summer in Pismo Beach, it's like every other camp out there shoots them off with no problems.

  2. they could detain you until they could get a bomb-sniffing dog out to your location, then you would have been in deep doo doo..

    shoulda coulda woulda

now that I have a family, house, nice things and good friends in high places, i'm not much of a risk taker anymore....i like your idea about watchin!!!

WoW, pretty serious stuff! I'm gonna have to reconsider my trip out to Pahrump! :laughoff:

  3. BE CAREFUL OF THAT agriculture check on the 15!! We had our hauler searched coming home last superbowl weekend, even though we told them we were at dumont.

They took about 10 minutes in the hauler and the truck...they didnt make us pull over though.

its a stiff fine in CA getting caught with illegal fireworks..... $1000 dollars

Really???? :freakin_nuts: I didn't know that they really stopped anyone there??? I actually never been stopped at that check-point. I wonder what they were looking for in your t.hauler??

Anyhow, sounds like most people don't have any problems bringing them back when it's not around the 4th of July.

  4. Okay so it's about that time now (Thanksgiving) and we'll be making the trip out there! Just to clarify, Pahrump is off the 178 to 372 coming from dumont right?? And the firework shops are easy to find? Also, how close are the Casinos when entering the city of Pahrump??? Been searching for casinos around there online and haven't found much info? Thanks! :driver:

  5. Interesting!??? And how about tank dumping and water fill for the haulers?? Any service truck out there? Also, do they rent quads out there???

(Didn't mean to hijack your thread!)

  6. Oh thanks guys! Yeah I was definately wondering since the manufacturer doesn't provide any emergency tire changing tools...other than the tire itself. And my trailer is a 23ft. hauler so I think the wood block trick will work! I always carry large blocks for the stabilizer jacks. :D

  7. I have a 23 ft. Attitude with smooth side exterior walls and am wondering what you guys use to keep the finish looking new?? I know regular washes work but now I'm starting to get those fine swirl marks. I've also noticed that my stickers are slowly starting to fade. :beercheers:

So what kind of sealers do you guys recommend?? I've been doing a lot of online research and found that carnuba wax is old skool (which I use on my trucks). Now I've found that Polymer sealer, applied by hand and cloth, is the new way to go??? Lasts the longest and is the best for gelcoat?

Here's a product I've found that claims to last 5 years www.protechpolymer.com (gelcoat rejuvenater). Have any of you used this stuff before?? And does it really work? I'm almost sold on it, but it's dang expensive!!

Anyhow, your feedback is greatly appreciated (as my toyhauler eagerly awaits a coating of some sort).

  8. Definately congrats! When I got my 1rst hauler (last year) I never dreamed that it would be so worth it!! I've been staying in tents for years on end, dealing with them blowing away or floating away (pismo, lol)...isn't it so nice to say that those days are over :laughoff:

  9. I do agree with the current boundary posts being hard to see...So I highly support the posting of larger boundary markers/signs. And I may be wrong, but I'm guessing that the boundary passers are more likely kids, so by posting up large boundary signs that actually reveal the fine amount for crossing, it may actually deter the kids. An actual cash amount to scare kids from their parents! :beercheers:

  10. I have Sprint. It was weird I would have signal but the lowest possible, and when I would push talk it would take 15 seconds to connect but when it did i would have full signal on roaming of course.

Wow, yeah...I'm real sorry to hear about this tragic incident. Thanks for helping all you could minor, like everyone says, most people would not even get involved to help.

  11. I also had the same problem. I lowered my hitch and lessened the tension on the distribution bars and it tows great now. That's the truck I have. Mine is a 2001 Dodge 2500 4X4 V10.

Yes, definately like everyone's saying...lower the ball a little and/or increase the links on the weight distribution chain. I've had these problems in the past as well while towing my 23 footer. Also, check all the trailer tire pressures, make sure that one of them aren't low.

  12. anytime near the 4th is no good  they have check points on hywy 160 and 372 and they are pretty thorough on their checks ( even looking under spare tires on trucks... etc)

Whoah!!! :rainbow1: Okay, I'll definately avoid it then!~

  13. Okay cool! :freakin_nuts: I heard that they're the size of small supermarkets :D . I will stop by one, the next trip we're there in Dumont! btw, are there any stops on the highway back, similar to the agricultural check point on the 15fwy? Cuz I know California don't really like them fireworks? Also, is the Ind.reserv. out of the way?

  14. How far is it from the dunes?? I hear that the Indian Reservation somewhere out there is the best place to get them...But I've never been to Pahrump so I dunno? :dunno: I also come from the south on i15 so I've never been beyond the dunes. Anyhow, do any of you know how far it is from the dunes, and if it's worth the drive to look for the indian reservation? I don't really plan on using them in Dumont, more so in Glamis whenever I get the chance to get out there :freakin_nuts: .
