  1. I need to trim some glass from my rails seats. About 1/4 inch thick and about a 15 inch cut. I have read about using a saber saw with metal cutting blades, dremel tool with a cut off bit, and your basic cutoff wheels. The cuts do not need to be perfect, but close. There is some extra for practice cuts. Any Ideas? Thanks!

(I know, saber saws usually have metal blades) :beerpint:

  2. I plan on being out there 26th or 27th through 1/5. :laughoff: Will be by myself this trip as the better half has to work. Have some friends coming on the 2nd. It would be cool to be able to camp with/near some of you (and ride with) over new years weekend. Don't want to cramp anyones style, just believe in safety/party in numbers! :2gunsfiring: Have yet to meet you all and look forward to it! New friends to be made! :flipoff:

  3. My mommy and daddy havnt financially supported me since my mid TEENS and im 26. If you guys think I dont have a right to b*tch just because I have not made it to a TRT meeting, eat $hit. I dont have to go to a meeting to prove I know what im talking about. I have all the info i need on the net and its much closer then BARSTOW.

Pete, the reason I didnt make the last one, since you ask, I was out of town for my girls B-day so my "mommy and daddy" took our car to save gas. Just to make you happy ill do my best to make the next one.

For the record, we were at the clean-up weekend, anyone remember the 6 wheel drive army jeep thing?? We pick up more then our own trash and pull our weight with everyting else appropriate and related to Dumont. So if I cant b*tch without going to a TRT meeting, then I dont want to hear a WORD from anyone who hasnt made a cleanup weekend. :hello:

EVERY WEEKEND IS A CLEANUP WEEKEND. EVEN EVERY WEEKDAY!

  4. Just by glancing at the numbers, It would have been close to a wash if the road and river crossing were never done. I am glad they did though. The extra fees that we will pay should offset the deficit that was put on the 07/08 budget. IF the restrooms don't get graffitied, blown up, or filled with trash, and the tree huggers are kept happy and everyone who uses dumont respects it, THEN there should be a surplus to make more improvements. The Govt. did notice the increase in dumonts use and have made improvements to keep the neighbors happy and make the dunes accessible. That fee is still cheap! Even for a day! My 2 cents  (A chair for 87 bucks?):lol::dunno: :xmas7:

Had to! Good luck on the exhaust hunt! There are alot of Hi perf diesel companies that have bolt on exhausts. Check some of the ford PS forums. I'm sure they have opinions of what will work best for your application.

  7. GPS is always a good idea. Its easy to lose your bearings at night. Useful in marking a broken down toy to return with a tow vehicle. And great for telling rescue people where to go. You may know an area like the back of your hand, but it does no good when your telling someone how to get to your location in a matter of life or death. :dunno:

Plus its great for checking speed, trip length, and avg speed on rides! :dope:

  8. One. But, from what I understand, you can get a 25% off coupon online by filling out a form about a previous purchase. Also, there have been stories about a 10% discount when calling the store and reserving your purchase to be picked up. I doubt they can be combined. Should be able to get two for less than 200 bucks. There have been positive feedback about them.

  9. That's too bad. I hope they were insured! What's with all the theft lately? I feel like we have to lock up everything!!! Even the gas cans!! :beercheers:

You Dont?! :idiot: My toys are cabled and locked up even in my garage! And especially at any camping area, NO MATTER WHAT! INCLUDING THE FUEL! I worked too hard to get what I have and I will do whatever it takes to keep it! :dunno::headbang1:

  10. You have to look at it as watts, not amps. Usually HID's only draw about 13 watts each, not amps. There is only a quick surge at startup to power them up, after that I am sure your alternator would be good enough to power them.

Thanks for the electrics refresher! Mild brain fade! I just want to be sure that everything will work if/when everything is on at the same time.

  11. Yeah I knew what you meant. :D If you run a normal automotive alternator on your rail already that should be sufficinet enough. The HID's don't draw much at all.

I suspect I have a 55 amp Alt on it. Have to check now. Never checked it since I bought the rail. Thanks for the input!

  12. upgrade the alternator? How come? HID's aren't suppose to draw that much wattage. They are less than Halogan lights...thats for sure.

I meant on my rail, not all. If I put 4 of those HIDs on my rail, it may overload the Alt. Sorry for the confusion.

  13. It is the responibility of each and every person who uses any local, state, federal, controlled or maintained land (s) to know the regulations/laws pertaining to the use (s) of those lands. If you decide to not follow the regulations/laws then you better not biatch or point fingers when you get a ticket and/or a bill for clean up costs.
