  1. I would rather drain my gray water than urinate in the sand. Does anyone pee on the sand?

Lets see, if the coyotes do, our dogs do, any other animals out there do, then why not? Would you drive all the way back to your rig from the other side of the dunes to pee? I bet more people pee on the sand then you want to know. I'd rather have pee on the sand than engine oil, coolant, trans fluid, fryer oil, etc. Plus, when you drink hella beers etc. an rv black tank would fill up awful fast. We're in the desert, not at a KOA.

  3. post-1452-1195269786_thumb.jpgpost-1452-1195269670_thumb.jpgLotsa trail type riding, no tall dunes. (like dumont) 25mph on the beach. You have fun riding just to get to the beach. Sit and look. Then back to the dunes to ride some more. Or run the beach for a few miles to get back to where you want to be. have not been to winchester, but I heard it is more rail friendly. Have been to coos bay dunes 4 times. Can easily put 20 miles on one ride. Some very technical hill climbs with very little room to get a run at it. Quads can go anywhere, while rails have to stay on the wide paths. Take a map or someone who knows the area. A must do!
  4. Time to design a fuel and oxygen injection system. That would be one helluva O2 tank mounted on any sand vehicle! Uh, lets see, no O2 or liquid fuel. Solid fuel powered sand toys. I'm sure some mars huggers and the BMM would have sumthin to say about it!

    Sorry. Politics are everywhere.

Oh yeah, waiting on the photoshop pic of a rail in that bowl!

  5. How about a couple of dumpsters out there. Maybe it would cut back on the the trash in Dumont and in Baker.

This has been discussed several times. Its the trash that wouldn't make it in the dumpsters if it even made it to them that would be a problem. Wind, coyotes, divers. I bet some azzhats would even try to turn them over! It would likely be more of a problem than a solution.

If you have room to bring it in, then you have room to take it out!

  6. Hey, Look at my B-Day <<<<<<. And Now go back and look at my "Be Aware Of Other Camps" Thread.

Were not all bad, I know of at least 3 people my age who respect the rules of D.

But as a "Youngin", I know how my fellow peers are. And I apologize for my generation sometimes.

I'm sure I will be kicked out of this "generation" for saying that. OH WELL. :banghead:

No need to apologize for anyone! :pissed: Its a child to adult phase.

You also need to remember that everyone has been or will be in that age group. I was, and did stupid stuff. Lived and learned. Like you, Not all in this age group are idiots. More likely to do idiot stuff when in a group. Thats the point. I am glad you are smart enough to make a wise decision that may affect others. You are a step ahead if you stand up to your "peers" if they do wrong. I know that you and the 3 others you know will set a good example for your "generation". :ban-split:

  7. Those fools look like a group, late teens-early twenties. Do you think there is a common sense brain cell between them? I have mentioned this age group in other threads as the most likely to race through camps, leave trash everywhere, roost your rigs, and ride in the no ride areas. Because they are young, free, rebellious SOBs that will do this because "its cool" or whatever the slang word is they use. I bet they all laughed as they "trashed" as well. But I bet, years from now, if they get together to relive the good ol' days, they will never high five each other over all the times they left trash at Dumont. I am also willing to bet that if any one of those fools went to D with a family, they would be more responsible.

My hats off to the effort to nail these fools!

Maybe they will be more responsible next time. But, They WILL see how much they can get away with.

  8. :ban-split:

I already have a short bed dodge and it fits my quad just fine or anything else that dont fit in the hauler. I need the rear room for the family, I have 3 kids and they are all back there when we leave camping so that is important. The standard cab is nice but way smaller compared to the mega cab.

If i were single i would do it again and not worry about it and with the mega cab the wife is happy and a step farther from a min van that holds 7 people..lol

I am glad you responded to my opinion. :beer_bang:

It appears you have answered your own question. Get what you need. The dually is kick azz, but, you have a family to think about and you can do just fine with a short bed. In that case, get what you want. Don't settle for less because its a good deal. If your gonna drop $40K+, you had better get what you want/need and nothing else! Geta megacab diesel!! If you can find one, get the 5.9 diesel. Still have some issues with the 6.7.

    :MBdance:

  9. If the dude went to the authorities complaining and having that info, they would probably say "thanks, we'll look into it", send the fool on his way, and not do chit. They probably know the dude on a first name basis already.

  10. gas 1 season old is still somewhat useable i take mine and use it up in the lawn mower that low compression beast dont care. or i stuff it in my exterra cause its always on the move. if its turned to lacker its toast and you can smell it when it does.

I would dilute with fresh fuel if your gonna use it.

Use Sta-bil in your fuel. A double dose can keep fuel fresh for a year. I always add to the toys and the TH fuel station when I fill it.

Does your garbage pickup service have waste oil pick up? Then pour some in your waste oil containers. :beercheers: Some auto parts stores accept waste oil.

  11. We have a TH trailer that we store at friends property. It has a couple of 12v deep cycle batts. I always remove them from the trailer to charge and then float charge. I have been looking into some 6v golf cart batts, but a charger is too expensive to justify them. I never trust the truck alternator or on board gennie to charge them properly.

The bubbling/percolation is likely from overcharge. Do you use a hydrometer? How old are the batts? If only one has the problem, could be the battery. Have them tested and if one needs replace, do them all. Check the charger for proper operation as well. If you leave the MH plugged in to shore power all the time, the onboard charging system should be able to monitor the batts for charge and charge only when needed. Most average TT,TH, & 5ers do not have this type charging system and will likely overcharge/boil off the electrolyte mixture. My 2 cents.

  12. In our camp, we had a cousin Eddie MH, a 12' enclosed trailer with an inflatable mattress, Porta-poti, and a 12v heater, Tents, a High end MH, and your average THs. Sure, some "class" jokes were shot around the campfire. But the company was the best. No one gave a Rat's azz about the living quarters everyone had. They were there. They brought good times. Nothing else mattered.
