  1. I replaced the de compression hole plastic plugs with the Yami plug and the Yami adhesive like the kids at the parts counter instructed me.

Any better ways out there to prevent this from happening again?

I bought spare plugs for the future,, because this stunt ended our trip early.

Seems like a flimsy, cheap, unreliable fix.

    thanks for any suggestions.

Ebay Link<------Click here for your problems Buy one of those, that will fix it.

  2. 4 Stroke Wars at Glamis that weekend. A ton of DS650 guys are going to be there to kick it and take names. I'll meet up with all of you fine folks eventually, I didn't buy the season pass for nothing.

ill be in Glamis also for 4 stroke Wars. Its going to be awesome.......If you guys havent been to it before its worth the trip. The fastest 4 strokes in the country are going to be there.

  3. thanks for all the good info i appreciate it i will check out those tires i was looking at a set of edges or sand stars since my tires are a bit on the worn out side

dont get sandstars, they are one of the heaviest tires on the market.Like a boat anchor. If you get edges try to get them on an 8 inch wheel.I would suggest 21-12-8 haulers from fullerton. They are very reasonable, maybe a couple hundred for a set or so.

  4. i am just wanting to do a few things to get a little more out of my bike without getting a bunch of money tied up and still maintain a nice desert bike

Ill tell you right now the best investment to get faster at the dunes without limiting your bike is a badass set of tires, like padla bratts,or double or triple buffed 6 or 7 cup haulers on blue labels.mount em up on like 8x7 inch wheels and you will pick it up bigtime,by cutting down on your rotating mass.21x12x8 is a perfect all around tire size for the do all purpose. :happydrunks: call fullerton sandsports

  5. :happydrunks: as far as CDI boxes go there a ONLY 3 different rev boxes made.1 is the Dyna, the best one of them all maybe, lots of different options on this one but very expensive too.2 is the vortex which from what i read wont work or need a modification to work with aftermarket flywheels, this is a very nice unit also and a bit on the pricey side.3 is a Procom which is basically every little black box you see with big gun, esr, white bros,etc...... stickers on them. They are basically all the same with stickers on them.Mine that took a crap at dumont was a cheapy procom i paid 90 bucks on ebay for.it lasted a year then crapped out.If i buy another it will be the Dyna.Hope that helps
  6. as long as your on here whats your take on the cam question hot cams or the yz trick any differences between rev boxes from all the different companies

The yz cam is the same as doing the cam mod,no performance diff there. The hotcams you will see a little top end pull diff. With the web +5 race grind you will see a nice noticeable gain top to bottom, those are awesome cams. The is a new crower gen3 billet cam that runs great too.The cams in the yfz are great cams and with the cam mod they work great, but to be honest i will probably do cams myself.I would probably go with the webs or the gen 3.The hotcams are a great budget minded cam for sure though. :happydrunks::beercheers::beerpint::rockon::drunk::laughoff:

  7. So one of the local speed shops I deal with is putting together a proto type turbo kit for the new Raptor 700. They're working with a local tuning shop for the ECM programing. Stock the 700 put around 48whp after the kit is dialed in they're guessing 100+whp!!!!!

After finding all the limits of the motor and setup, Yamaha dealers are talking about offering it has a dealer installed option.....

Holy crap I can only imagine  I'll update you guys has progress continues.

turbo raptors are dyno queens. :laughoff:

  8. Sweet video  Aaron, it seems like whoever had the left lane got the win. The bottom of the hill looks a bit curved, would that have something to do w/ it? Maybe just an optical illusion. Either way, your s*it's FAST. Sucks about that clutch. I'd fire that mechanic of yours! I heard that guy who put it in didn't know what he was doing. :thumb: j/k

yeah pete if i know my mechanic he was most likely intoxicated  I got it right the second time  Its an animal now. :headbang: :thumbsdown:

  9. I Have a 05 yfz450 runs pretty good. Have a titanium yoshi exhaust system jet kit hi rev cdi box open air box and dropped a tooth on the front sprocket. If you have any ideas on how to increase performance from here please let me know.

Well you are going to need a new intake,ESR sells the airbox eliminator for about 80 bucks shipped,or you can get a ron woods for about 140ish.Either of those will pick it up.Put your gearing back to stock.Tires are going to make the biggest difference for you in the dunes. For example if you have sandstars on itp wheels then they probably weigh around 18lbs each.Switch those up for some 21-12-8 haulers with about 6 or 7 cups.on Douglas blue labels.Cutting down the rotating mass on the bike will give big gains in the sand.If you are wanting a little more topend pull, then the Yoshi isnt the best pipe for the application. Its more of a bottom-midrange pipe. The ESR,Ron Woods,or Sparks Big Core are going to give you much better top end pulling power. If you want some pour in power then run some stinky sh*t.The VP U-4 will give you 2-3 horse guaranteed. Its a bit pricey though at 12 bucks a gallon. With the yfz set-up,and horsepower to weight ratio is critical to making it fast, the motor doesnt need a whole lot.

  10. haha... if they can stuff a freakin gixxer motor in a damn shifter cart... puttin one in a bansheee should be no problem.. :D Lets race b*tch!!!!

dont waste your time putting a busa in a banshee frame,a big stroker banshee will whoop it.Streetbike quads have a miserable time off the line, and by the time the motor revs up the race is over. The one at Banshee wars is a built turboed nitrous bike and lost to a banshee. They were running the sam mph but it couldnt hang with the banshee off the line. Not to mention there probably isnt a hill on the planet big enough for a busa quad to reach its top speed.im serious though i want to help you all get your yfz's up to par.
