Considering my YFZ has a ice cubes chance in hell of being ridden in the desert,i dont see any reason to put a guard on it. That would be extra weight too Hence the name SAND yfz,not DESERT YFZ

That thing doesnt look very fast.My 450 will burn the tires up to 3rd gear on the pavement with 22" all trak's.Im with pete if you are going to put that much time fabbing up all that stuff you should atleast have more cc's than the bike came with stock Im sure its way more HP but just sounds funny because the DS is 650cc'c stock.Cool project,wrong motor

Thanks man,i like it alot more,its much cleaner looking.Although i like the billet resi alot it turned out to be a pain in the a$$

As most of you saw after my last trip to dumont my rear brake resi bracket broke again and i had finally had enough.So i sold my stock master cylinder and resi on ebay and bought a YZF450 rear master cylinder that has the resi built in.After some drilling,frame and master cylinder grindage with the die grinder i got it on and it turned out nice.LAUGH NOW NICK,HAHAHAHA :freakin_nuts:

ya ive been the dirt wheels mags..and they say that they have had problems with the rear arm and everything..hopefully they fix it atleast so they dont have a bunch of pissed customers

Or you could avoid all these issues and get a proven winner,THE YFZ450,or 06 TRX450 Or if you need a farm machine you can get a DS or Raptor :freakin_nuts:

I was just happy the Raptor was able to hit the sand after it's flight off the cliff at Coral!

I still need to get a bumper and some lights, but it was good to go for the trip on Sunday and that's all that mattered!

It was VERY nice to go on some fast dune rides.I would be lying to say i didnt miss that.I had a blast.We got in some real nice runs out there.Thats the first time ive ever actually pushed that bike hard on a dune ride with that setup i have now.The Shaws were sweet i was very impressed.Paul led very well other than the little bump he hit, .Good times,lots of laughs..Thanks guys that was fun

Man that was a fun trip,I had a blast. Turns out the dragger is quite the duner too We got in some real good haulin a$$ dune rides. Nice breeze,and not TOO hot...It was good seeing all you guys again,i had a great time and want to thank pete for draggin me and my quad out there.That was awesome. Until next time!!!

Ya i like it so far,i rode it a little last week and felt real strong.The only downside to it is the throttle pushes forever,haha

After blowing it up last time i saw you guys I rebuilt it with a new Black Widow 14:1 piston and replaced the Crower cam with a set of Web Cam +5's.It runs alot stronger than before. :headbang:

HAHAHA!!!!I was wondering if you guys got stuck in that,man i must of lucked out it only took my a half hour to get overthe hill from the gravel road,lmao!!I was so freakin aggrivated.The thing is the people wouldnt move over so we could go..Then some a-hole from the event was slowing everyone down driving 15mph in front of traffic.I didnt mind them running this fund raiser,but atleast get the hell out of the way so we can creep by,it was just rude as hell.another thing is why the hell are they doing this on a 2 lane road?It was extremely dangerous for the runners and every single person driving down that highway.Oh well atleast there would be alot of help when the head on collision occurs.

Its the nature of the beast.Thats the way it goes sometimes.I run the livin sh*t out of it and this time it bit me in the a$$.Nothing happened to the internals at all though so i was very thankful for that.

Ya,im just about positive the piston has a hole in it.Ill be tearing it down very soon and post up pics of the carnage.Bigtime bummer,atleast it broke down at camp.Thanks for letting me ride the Craptor Pete.We had a good dune ride.I appreciate it. :smiley: Before i left that morning i threw in a few more beers for some reason.Then after my bike took a crap i sure was glad i had them. I still had a great time,lots of good laughs...Thanks for everything Ill have the bike back up in no time. Oh i almost forgot,how about Tacomama's no footer over the bush,lmao.... My wr426 had incredible topend speed.Did close to 100mph and got there quick.I really liked that about it. The funny thing is i sold it to my friend and he has been desert racing it like crazy with no problems.Its still on the same top end i sold it to him with and finished like 10 or more races...I guess the last build was solid.The first 2 didnt last a year.

I'm not too old for a 2wheeler. :hug: :headbang: I love mine. Quads just don't give me the rush of being 5th gear pinned over whoops, hitting a perfect line on a jump and sailing it, or leaning it down carving a bowl. :headbang: :smiley:

I'm not bashing quads of course either, my Craptor gives me plenty of fun as well.

well pete you remember how bad of an experience i had with my 426f Biggest POS ive ever owned So im probably partial to my ole faithful YFZ.She's been good to me My 426 grenaded twice..I hated that bike.Not to mention i bought it brand new

on hill shooting, thats fun for five minutes. Been there, done that have the t-shirt.

Oh you were talking about duning...I thought you meant racing,haha..Have those ribs healed up yet...Ive been there done that too,on the motorcycles duning I switched to the YFZ Way more fun...The risk v.s. reward wasnt worth it at all for me.Im too old to be crashing that often....Hell paulypaul is a real good rider and i see him wipe out plenty on the bikes in the sand...Its all personal prefernce...Wipeouts on motorcycle-LOTS AND LOTS---Wipeouts on YFZ-0---Ill take the training wheels,lmao!! :smiley:
