So i got the 2 year old 32" Polaroid LCD flat screen tv that stopped working yesterday. I shut it off and left, came back 3 hours later and its dead. The red light on the front was on like normal, it turns to blue once on but it stay red and nothing happens, i tried the button on the side and remote and nothing. It was plugged into a expensive surge protector, that wasn't tripped.
Anyone have any ideas?
As with anything, try the easiest stuff 1st. Try unpluging (power down) for awhile then replug and check manual for a reset. Also if you have blue screen you might have bumped a remote button and changed source/input. Check your actual source too, sat receiver, cable box etc. good luck

or put a P in front of it
You know that's a ...... NAH, not gonna do it, don't wanna be considered for the position of resident azzhole. But that is pretty funny sandseeker

It should be me. He gives me chit more then he does anyone else. If I knew where his RESIDENT was, I'd go over and kick his JACKAZZ, put a apron on him, make him get me a beer he keeps IN is fridge, and take all of his BBQ'd ribs. That's the TRAINING he needs.
Dang, sounds like whips and chains might be in his future :dumbass:

Ive had my dmax since 2005. its a 2003
anyway. I had my injectors replaced and 90 something thousand miles at the end of last summer, and my highway mileage dropped from the best of 17 to 15 :dumbass:
Well, since the beginning of the year, ive noticed that my mileage has slowly been creeping up. I now have 103 K on my truck now.
So new injectors your mileage dropped, and after some mileage improved? You'ld think new clean injectors would help, at least not worsen your mileage. Maybe carboned up restricts fuel flow My Moho get's 10.5 +- towing but I can be a lead foot.

Shouldn't he have the benefit that a common criminal is given? The right to be judged by a jury of his "peers"? OK, let's see, there's Dunefreak and Ragdoll (outstanding credentials) and ... um, oh, ISBB of course, and probably wingnut as ISBB so thoughtfully pointed out, and I can at least be an alternate. Hmmm, wonder if this post will bump me up from alternate.... :dumbass:

The pics are probably copyrighted and no need providing documented proof in the archives so here's a link to an awesome pic just as an example of HDR. http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=4920356&size=lg

Yeah there was plenty of moon light as I used 1/500 to take that pic. I probably could have easily used the 1.4 extender, but I had everything already mounted up without it when I was out so I didnt mess with it. I have read quite a bit on a photo forum recently about doing HDR, yet I still have no idea wtf it is and how to do it. :dumbass: lol
I'll try to explain it, uh, naaahh, boring and too much work to do it, lol.

Well then your better off than me! I unfortunately didn't have the same experience! I felt like a retard :hatdance: having to call my friend only to say "hey man, remember that go pro camera you let me borrow?? Well I owe you a new one!!" He laughed!!
You might have a reason to pen GoPro rule #1- When shooting video in a vehicle use a safety lanyard attached to the vehicle.
and if you can't see the cam while driving use a long lanyard with slack attached so you can see the slack, if you lose slack the cam is dangling by the lanyard :dumbass:

Nice pics. Even in the pics the sun is washing out the sand. :ah: .
And about the only thing that helps a little is polarized sunglasses.

Yet another example of smart loading. That minivan probably only has a tongue weight capacity of 72lbs, so he carefully placed that quad toward the REAR axle on the trailer. I wish my set up was this thought out... :beer_bang:
Not to mention only 1 tiedown on the front and back

I found that taking pics of the moon requires quite a fast shutter speed since it is so bright. This pic was taken at full zoom with my 200mm, f/2.8, 1/500 sec, no filter.
It was a good pic until I sharpened it...then it became a great one. The added contrast really brought out the detail in the craters and stuff.
Is there enough light to use the 1.4 ? You should try doing some HDR with bracketed exposures. I haven't done true HDR, I don't have a tripod yet but been looking. I fake HDR with tweaked copies and cloning. I think using neutral density or gradient filters is along the same lines but without actually increasing the dynamic range. The more I read the more I realize how much more there is to learn

I'll 2nd that wow! Better put some wheelie bars on that wing

My Dometic stopped working last year and considering the cost of a replacement fridge I replaced the cooling assembly with a rebuilt unit, they build new evaporator sections for the units as that's the part that usually rust out. Yours is a leaky boiler section but is probably a good core anyway. Their website is www.rvcool.com/ . My 2 door replacement unit was $480, a new fridge is probably 2-3 times that.

Like what they said, WD-40. Went on a July 4th weekend with a bike and buggy, sprayed both all over, nobody else did. Next trip to Dumont they had rust and only the paint bare places on my exhausts and bars had any trace of rust, didn't spray the bars and the exhaust cooked off the WD-40.

Ok here's the official version of how "Dumont " got it's name.
Dumont Sand Dunes: Relief Feature, 30 Miles NNW of Baker, CA.
The feature is West of the site of Dumont, named on the Silurian Hills (1956) 15’ Quadrangle
The United States Board on Geographic Names (1984,PP4) approved the Name “Dumont Dunes” for the feature.
DUMONT: Site of Dumont; locality 30 Miles N of Baker, CA. (Lat; 35*41’ 35” N, 116*10’ 30”W near the West line of Sec 31, T19N-R8E.
The site is named on the Silurian Hills (1956) 15’ Quadrangle. The place was along the Tonapah and Tidewater Railroad and was named for Harry Dumont, an official of the “Pacific Coast Borax Company.
Source: Durham’s Place Names of California Desert Counties- Page 55
Good thing they "approved" the name since they were called Dumont and Dumont Dunes at least back to 1906 or we might be calling them Feinstein dunes or worse, if that's possible. Government at work

Area of Critical Environmental Concern. I was told 3000' Above Ground Level. Permission was granted several years before from the NPS to low fly the DVP but it was denied later. Somebody wanted to something to do with dropping water on the highest and lowest points in the US.
In any case it was a no go with the BLM.
Eli
I'm assuming NPS is National Park Service but the Amargosa from Dumont dunes to Tecopa is outside the park. Besides, the "L" in BLM is LAND
-
It's clearly the bridge site. The doggies may be located just south of there or in what's called the Bowel just south of Tecopa I can't tell. Both were overgrown with salt cedar last time I was there and the BLM removed them doggies long ago.
Eli
If the bridge was where the tracks crossed to the east side (right) going toward Tecopa, yes, I was right there in the 1st pic. The cattle were at a wide area just after the fork (Tecopa/China Ranch) toward Tecopa.
-
These are clearly what are called the Palisades. I tried to get somebody to low fly the area about 8 years ago when I was doing a low budget movie but it didn't happen because it's an ACEC and been one since 74. I for one am glad you where slightly off course.
Looks like the T&T grade in the foreground just past the bridge site.
Eli
Are you referring to the military control airspace or is ACEC area of critical environmental concern? The airspace at that time had a 3000 ft ceiling.

Anyone here fix TV's?

So I guess you already tried the TV power button, not just the remotes. My notebook did that and it was power transformer, a small module, that powered the on/off circuit. Seems alot of the individual circuits use a different voltage so they have their own transformers. Only suggestion left is check the manufacture's web site for a troubleshooter or maybe a FAQ. If you use Google check the "more" options and try searching "blogs", I've had luck when searching for 1st hand experience, and you don't get the commercial sites that have your search words tagged. Good luck again
