Hope it doesn't take much to fix the car back up and I hope yor GoPro survived.
Glad that noone was hurt. The rest can be fixed. What a cool first ride!
Now at least you've been through in a sand car what most haven't lol.
I'm with Pete, we've said it too it's not a matter of if but when if you drive the dunes long enough it'll happen to you.

From what I saw and what we did you can park just about ANYWHERE out in the desert lol.

That Place is fun. Been the last few years (not this one) lots of RVshizzz.
Fun to walk around. You'd need 2 weeks easy to see it all. Huge!!!

We own week 26 which is always last full week before 4th of July
Asking $6000 plus annual maintenance of $1500 (includes insurance buoy fee misc maintenance etc)
The boat is buoyed at Page main ramp area
I'll get pics up when I get home
We just don't use it anymore.
If you have ever been to Lake Powell you know it's absolutely amazing and this week is perfect as the lake has risen to almost what it will be full pool and warm enough that the water feels like bath water.
Rentals from ARAMARK run about 10k for a week.

All I can say is it was amazing.
My dad who is battling brain cancer has always wanted to come to the dunes with us. It was always that one of these days deals... Anyway I made it finally happen got him and my step mom last minute flights from Denver and a last minute Moho rental from Dave K.
We hit the dunes Thursday afternoon the weather was amazing for late Dec
Friday mid day we loaded up my dad and step mom up in the buggy and took them for a ride. My dad had a smile the entire time We did the whole dune experience running the dunes, north pole and a few races up comp.
The rest of the weekend was just as chill and amazing weather. Spent a lot of time with my dad (when he was awake) times BSing and hanging by the fire. I'll cherish that time forever
New Years was way cool we loaded up the McFlurry and the portable sound system and went to comp where we celebrated the new years. Them to the North Pole.
Great times great memories
Dunes could have been better but who cares I was with my family and best friends!!!!

Julie I dont know how anyone could follow that sentiment you wrote. It was very beautiful, and you could tell you wrote it from your heart. It said it all, Al was a great man.
I do remember all those firsts you meantion with Al, and that is why its so hard to comprehend that he is gone....
I hope that his family, and friends are more at peace now, knowing that he is now longer in pain, and is with his son. I am watching my dad fight this exact fight as we speak, and its not an easy thing to watch...
God Speed Al, and may you rest in peace....
