  1. We will be at Glamis, MLK weekend and will be offering at set of Dune Stars for anyone who would like to try them out on your RZR.

We will have a 4 wheel and tire mounted set to swap out so you can give them a test drive.

We usually stay around wash 3 or 4 and will be there sometime on Friday the 18.

Send us a email at extremeoutdoors@xoatv.com and give us your number so we can hook up or give us a call on our cell at 702-280-0764

  2. 25/12/10 7 paddle extreme with smoothies up front, the only way to go, i bought mine at sunrise ford in fontana. run 2wd everywhere.

If we are ever out at the dunes at the same time, please I wanna try them! You can use my ITP setup.

I have seen them out at Glamis, but I have yet to see anyone tackle the big dunes in them and keep up.

I just can't see where the front smoothies can give you much hill climbing ability.

I ve ran up olds in 2WD and while the speedo was reading 35 or so, in 4WD lock, I ran up a lot faster and the speedo was reading about 28 or so.

  3. It was a joke holmes, you cant off road in the "Valley". Im just trying to point out theres many places you can ride in the surrounding 150 miles that are either FREE or nearly free and have cleaner (less trash) riding areas with law enforcement and medical NEAR (granted not always on hand).

Even the places that you cant "ride" but can camp have all the same things but dont cost as much (not even close). I just would like to see actual PROOF that Dumont costs are so much higher...

The Valley Of Fire is a state park. Personally I think the BLM has so much land to manage they can't manage anything like it should be managed. Maybe this is why most of Nevada seems to be a wilderness area.

If you can't afford to manage it, close it.

The BLM does not have the funds to manage it because the feds have their hands in everything promising a check drawn on the public trust to everyone to get elected.

I don't have a problem with the fees; however I can understand the point of those who do.

It's like the guy that asked me what kinda gas mileage I got pulling the 40 footer. I said I don't know. He said you don't know? Nope it does not matter, I'm going anyhow.

  4. I find it kinda funny you guys are quoting each other and you are the only ones in the conversation so far. :argue:

See ya sometime this weekend, Craig. I'll cruise by and say hi.

Thats cuz I knew you'd be by and chime in sooner or later and did not want you to get confused by the type of red beans and rice served on merchant ships when the coloring book fell from the sky and damaged your submarine.

Are ya scratching yar head yet? :shake::blink:

  5. Probably some white trash scumbag......same people that go to lake mead on the holiday weekends and leave thier chit everywhere!

No bull there! I could not beleive all the broken EZ up frames left on the beaches. Just one beach in the upper basin had 5 of them. The canvas was nowhere to be found, I bet sitting at the bottom of the lake.

Maybe it's time to call back into action the owl who said, Give a hoot, don't polute! from my/ours/your childhood days.

  6. Well you will be very happy to know, as about 1/2 hour ago, the lord of the dunes :old: has decided they are tore up enough and sent us 60-70 MPH winds to smooth them out. That or he is really pissed off at me and found a couple of rocket scientest here to help him burn me out.

Anyway is gonna be smooooooooth my morning if this keeps up.

A couple of guys across from me on vendors row were burning trash and boxes when the wind came up...ok I can deal with that it came up out of nowhere, but then they decided to add more boxes to the fire.

The wind is blowing straight into me and rolling flaming boxes with it. :shake: I went out side and picked some of the boxes away and walked over to them, and said.. :argue: I'm not the smartest SOB on the planet but what your doing does not see like a real good idea.

Anyway I hope it ends by morning and we all have a great time on the dunes.

    Happy Turkey Day!

  7. I have the 26" Dune Stars on 14" ITP's and really like them They are light, dont get buried and really help pull the Rhino up the dunes. They dont ride bad on the flats, and we even took it up the wash a ways and didnt ride rough at all.

The only down fall that I have been able to tell is that in 4WD, the front wheel can get ripped out of your hands up the dunes. Maybe need some sort of steering stabilizer or something. Overall, I do like them.

I have been running the Dune Stars starting on season 3 and have never had the wheel ripped out of my hands. Are you locking in the 4WD?

Not locking in is the only way I can see this happening.

  8. i found out the cash only no receipt is so they cant get in trouble that way there is no proof

The cover on the book of OHV stickers says 20.00

I assume they want cash as they make 1.00 (Or 5.00 in there case) per sticker sold. (5%) We are not worried about the buck so we take credit cards as well. It cost more than 5% if someone pays by AE.

The Dumont permits are the same way. We make 5%. Not having a contractor charging god knows what should save the BLM a ton of money.

On-line we charge 1.35 per OHV sticker and 8.00 shipping. We ship UPS so we have tracking and a delivery receipt. Most of those stickers go to out of state and they don't want to go hunting for them when they arrive.

  9. Hey there's an idea. Or even something as simple as a membership card. I know a couple people here on DDR that have volunteered to help with these things in the past. These are the little things that are gonna make a huge difference with gaining members for FoDD. They have to get done though instead of just talking about it. :beercheers::beercheers:

    :GWH: :mic: :lol::bawl:

    Great idea!

  10.

So, in short, as for a membership drive............I'm all about it. :mic: :bawl:

I agree with you on the web site, that’s why I did not mention a date.

We need a welcome package to give to members, something like a FoDD bumper sticker, pamplet on a mission statement, "Pack It In Pack It Out", kinda stuff.

As soon as we can come up with dat stuff, I'm gonna kick yar :beercheers: and :beercheers: all the way to the winners circle. :GWH:

  11. Our public presence has been played down while we have been working behind the scenes... all while juggling families and paying jobs and other obligations.

It's time to get the public presence going.

What a great letter, dis gilz got skillz!

Always take time for a little recognition. While you can't buy bread with it, it is nice to be recognised and it allows the rest of us to take pride in your accomplishments on our behalf.

Success breeds success and recognition will motivate others as well.

I like the idea of at least a small war chest when immediate needs arise. Membership numbers are important but how about a single membership and for a little more a family membership?

    Membership gift cards for xmas.

Speaking of recognition, how about a membership drive?!

I bet I can sign up more members than Pete! :bawl: What's that smell? I think I smell fear by my challange. There's blood in the air boys...

  12. I just have to rebuild it and re-setup everything on the server... Will probably do somethings a bit diffrent but in the end it will be much better and "UP TO DATE" with the current issues and what not. Gotta gimme time to get everything rebuilt again

Cool I'd love to do it however I have a hard time keeping up with my own site :)

Let me know if you need anything. If that systems does not have a cart we will be happy to allow the use of our system.

We can setup a direct link to items such as memberships, flags and so forth. Our system can use cc cards paypal and google payments

  13. I believe that in a very general, but absolutely real way, all pro-access organizations are fighting for all recreation areas.

For instance, when Oceano Dunes takes a step forward or a step back, we all take that same step with them. What happens in each area very much has a ripple effect in the other areas.

As such, the leaders of the various organizations try very hard to work together on the issues and each of us is always available to help the others when needed.

I can personally attest to the fact that Friends of Dumont Dunes is very nicely supported not only by the leaders in CORVA (the organization that helped get FoDD started), but also by the leaders in such organizations as the American Sand Association because, well, for one thing immediately following the initial petition to list the lizard was filed, FoDD received phone calls, emails and private messages offering help in any way we might need it from those leaders.

Please... don't let some of the "word play" you witness on various forums mislead you. Yes, there is some friction but it is not between organizations, it is between individuals. Above and beyond that nonsense there is the knowledge that no one (or handful of) individual/s is going to save or destroy an area and more importantly, there is not one OHV leader in all of the numbers of the OHV leaders, who would let that happen because of conflicting personalities or friction between individuals.

    Vicki

Does this mean we can't have Sand Fleet? :watching:

If you want I can take a look at the web site and see if I can get something started for you. If that thing has a cart we can set up sponsors. If not we can use mine. I don't have lot of time but If I can get somethings going and get it started it would be easier for someone to maintain.

Someone needs to get with the ASA and see if we can use there sources for flags and what not. If not I already have some feelers out for stuff.

I can get started like a checkerd flag with FoDD on it. 50 flag min. at a special price. I can float the start up costs for FoDD and be reimbursed from flag sales to get it going
