Very cool. I have a Gen 2 Big 5 I have been working on. Same motor and trans but on pump gas giving me about 240 RWHP according to John at Outfront (no dyno). Your going to have a blast with that setup ! Look forward to seeing you in the dunes .

Adam from GTP Off-road had said something about a Sunday trip

He was apparently on a night run this past Saturday at Dumont

I went down there today to check it out. Nothing to write home about. There were some cars for sale and a few vendors selling new stuff but no real discounts or anything to be had. We went to the Orange County Swapmeet next to the Sand Sport Swap and grabbed a few goodies. Overall not worth the 8 hours on the road.

Thanks Mike and Joe for letting me pull up with you. I had a good weekend. Definitely liked the laid back camp.

Heading out in the morning. Will be meeting up with GTP Mike. May be last Dumont trip of the season for me.

Last Saturday the crossing was fine, about 2" of water. Road was washboard all the way in.

My son in law and I will be over by bathroom 6.

So I found out the hard way that there is a center piece that needs to be in the Kennedy stage II pressure plate for early transaxles. I bought it new along with my fly wheel and clutch (all new) from a motor builder in California.Throwout arm and bearing were trashed. Got the arm and bearing from RC Trans but John didnt have the parts for the pressure plate. Went to Butchs Speed Shop, first time customer. Bought a $4 clutch alignment tool and he had the part I needed. Gavin explained that they have some of these that people leave if they have late model transaxles and said no charge. I would have gladly paid because I need this part to get the car back together for next weekend. They definitely gained a loyal customer today. Just thought I would share a good business since it seems more and more that people don't care to much about their customers.

Nice hanging with you for a while today. I'm leaning towards the same two things. Sucks because both are brand new with about 10 miles on them. I will separate the motor and tranny soon and get it fixed so I can haul it all the way to Dumont for another 10 minutes of seat time lol.

We will be over by bathroom 6. Red Sierra flatbed dually with a Sandpiper hauler. I have a XP 900 with red doors and hood and a yellow Funco. We chatted for a few minutes at the buggy run after I fried my coils. See you out there.

Who is going out this weekend, 23rd to 25th ? We will be coming in at Sun up on Saturday and leaving Sunday morning/afternoon.

Anybody find or see a hood from an XP 900 on the Tecopa route home in Sunday ? I was sick and didn't realise it was gone when I took it off the back of the truck.

Went out today. Rained most of the way out but stopped once we got settled in. Pulled up by GTP Mike. Pete came up, welcomed us and we chatted for a while. Put the paddles on the car and went for a spin. About 15 minutes in to the run I smoked another 2 coils and was done. My son in law went for some rides in his RZR then we loaded up. Didn't talk to many people but a lot of the usual suspects were out again. Wish I could have went on some runs with everyone but the seriously not so Fun-co still needs some love ! Looked like a great camp !
