  1. If any of you are familiar with Gilcrease Orchards in the far NW part of Vegas, they're got a SHIAT load of Applewood they need to get rid of. The GM there, Mark, wants $20 a truckload! You load & go. It's not quite dry yet, been sitting about a year or so, but I figure you're not gonna find a better deal than that for the price.

Any questions, call Mark at 702-409-0652.

    Glicrease Orchard

    7810 Tenaya Way

    LV, NV 89131

(Tenaya & Whispering Sands Dr. just East of Arbor View H.S.)

    Great stuff in the campfire.

Careful burning it in the house fireplace.

Some of the fruitwoods will leave a brutal residue and smell.

  2. my neighbor was the dude with the 2 sick knives; from the WW1 era. Said he was trying to sell them on craigslist and that the history channel contacted him and asked him to come down. no money involved, just 4hrs of is time and now he's "famous"; haha just kidding......they were sweet pre geneiva act knives though.....

Those knives were off the hook cool.

  3. I have never even heard of him or that show, but I just saw my buddy's dad on there! hahaa

He was the dude at the end of the first video trying to sell that guitar. His name is Pete and he owns E-String bar & grill and AJ's Music & Guitars which is here in Henderson.

Good to read these episodes are the real deal. Real people not actors like with the Repo show.

Wife doesn't get why I like the show.

History I guess. Hell,, I dunno.

Their was a Shelby Cobra chassis and body brought to the pawn shop in a recent episode I'm trying to find.

Probably one of their best episodes.

    Certainly the most controversial.

Shelby Ford Cobra fans say it's all legit, a genuine Shelby Cobra,, armchair bench racers say it's a kit car.

    I believe the Cobra nuts.

A guy was called to get 'Some rid of some Auto parts" outta a no rent paid storage unit and told he could keep it, so after they authenticated is was the real deal,, the transaction was started.

If I find the episode I'll post it.

    It's a good one.

  4. I have an idea...

we all seem to have camera's with us during our trips out to the D.. and i'm sure people bring them out to comp on the big party nights...we should all take pics of the people around us..and if someone has to pick up their neighbors trash...post the pics of them and the trash that they left behind...

maybe if we put faces with the trash left behind people would stop leaving it....

    just a thought

About 20 years ago the BLM came through and videotaped campsites and License plates.

    The idea worked great.

  5. Thought we saw Rick the Pawn Shop Owner from Pawn Stars at Dumont.

Had a Big GM 3500 duelly with a monster winch on the front and a WW.

Don't know if I'd want to ride near Chumlee. Peaches sure,, but Chumlee?

Anyone here ever go to their shop in LV?

What did you buy or Pawn?

  6. i know they have the non potable water there next to the dump in the far right diesel lanes, but where the hell is the potable water?

It's about 12' away from the tank flushing water at the end of the island next to the fuel pumps facing the store,, unless someone has since ran them over Rich.

    Hard to spot.

Probably 60+ psi of water flow too and a brass nipple to screw the hose too.

Has a sign on it for freshwater potable tank filling only.

  7. FYI the Flying J in Lenwood/Barstow/Outlet stores has both flushing water, and separate fresh water fills, and for free and the two RV fuel/dump lanes. - And at good pressure and flow.

So far haven't found much in Pahrump.

What I have found flows at barely a trickle.

    Must be something someplace.

  8. probably someone else with a raptor for sale flagging your add. The good part is when they flag it, you repost and it goes straight to the top. Whenever I have listed a quad for sale on vegas craigslist it got flagged. I reposted as soon as it got flagged. STRAIGHT TO THE TOP AND IT SOLD. I posted a thank you ad to the person flagging my ad. Said thank you for flagging my ad. When I reposted the ad you flagged it was at the top and the quad sold same day.

People with all the expensive bling think they can get it all back at re-sale time so they pull other chains with reasonable prices.

Neighbor still says his Banshee is worth $22K and is gonna get it.

  9. Thanks, I will try that.

It already is priced more than fair. 2300 bucks and it comes with an extra complete set of tires. I have had very good luck with CL so that's why I'm sticking with them for now.

Like monkie said, we'll be buying new Raptor 700's eventually so this is just the first step. We just bought a new rail so there will be plenty of trips to come where we won't even wanna get out of the sandrail. We love riding though, so quads are in no way out of the picture for us. :laughoff:

    That's a terrific price.

Good to read you'll still be riding.

    Swung by Honda today.

Time to start replacing some of our shop worn gas containers, we like the new Honda containers.

The very First Honda 700 they put on the showroom floor, quite some time ago when they fist came out,,, is still sitting there.

$2500 rebate,, and still it sits.

They really thought they had a big hit on their hands.

  10. The International Hotel in Vegas became the Las Vegas Hilton a while back.

They had a terrific $49 weekend package.

Room, meals,, show,, gaming bux, 25 cent craps, 50 cent blackjack, open comp bar,, all for $49 it was excellent.

I took advantage of it all the time. I lived at the beach, and took fine chix, and it was a cheap date.

One day they gave us tickets to the electronics show in town.

    What the hey, we went.

The Las Vegas Sun Newspaper did an editorial that the City should quit hosting the electronics show because the shows visitors just drink Pepsi, and don't gamble or spend much money in the town.

I think it's one of the biggest annual Las Vegas shows today and the Las vegas Sun has pretty much folded.

Anyway, at the show, Sony was unveiling their Beta Max and Panasonic was debuting their VHS home recording systems.

    A really big deal.

You could record off your TV, record your own home videos,, in color on top all that.

The state of the art then was home 8 MM movies.

Ya filmed with a 2 minute roll of 8 mm movie film, that you then took to the camera store or Fotomat and got developed. $5 for the film, $7 developing.

The Sony and Panasonic people told me when their systems would be available. When that time came about I went out to buy one.

The two huge camera stores in LA then were Henrys Camera, and Bel Air camera.

I went into Bel Air camera and the guy and the manager told me I could be fined up to a Million dollars and go to jail if I did home recordings.

"Home Video will never happen. It's unaffordable and highly illegal."

They then pushed the Minolta Super 8 zoom film movie camera my way and I balked and left.

A week later I bought the Panasonic VHS system at May Company.

I wanted to buy a mini truck that year too.

The salesman at Galpin Ford told me "You're dreamin' if you think you'll ever see a v6 or 4 wheel drive in a mini truck."

When the Yamaha 660 Raptor came out, our local Honda M/C dealer started talking up Hondas 1000 cc quad.

-"and all Raptors are Red Sticker" they told me. This was 2004. Haven't seen the TRX 1000 yet.

Never trust anyone selling ya something.

    Any sales tales?

I called the ph# above and was told that they would address the "cart" issue ASAP, you can email or call the # above to order stuff..... :beercheers:

Contacted him,, got it at a good deal.

    Thanks.

  12. Perfect.

Your rear Skats are excellent when side running bowls compared to the Doonz.

    Way noticeable difference.

With the coated, stiff Doonz the back end wants to slide out from under ya.

The more flexible Skats that you have are floating yet hanging on better for you.

The front buffs are the perfect choice too.

    You'll never look back now.

    Excellent choice.

BTW, where did you buy the wheels and tires?
