  1. I was going to just make it a day trip on Saturday but the wife told me to just go and stay the whole weekend and have fun and she'd watch the kids for the weekend....holy crap what's this gonna cost me

I'll be leaving Friday as soon as I get out of work and stay through Sunday afternoon. Hopefully Johnnie Walker can get the furnace fixed in the hauler.

  2. Any day in the dunes beats a day in town! Windy or not, I had a great time and as usual, everyone was way cool. I will be out for T-day, but only a day trip on Saturday. Here's some pics from this weekend.

  3. Looks like I'm the YNOT @ ASH club this weekend, just me and my 4 year old daughter. Ash, are you going to have the little ones?

Coolio Joe. Yep I'll be bringing the clan with me. The girls are riding better and better. I found a spot down by the wash they can ride at and I don't have to worry about anyone running them over and since I don't let them ride in camp or around the camp, it's a real safe place for them and I can just kick back and watch. See ya out there.

  4. It's all very hard pack...that's why he camps there. He has a diesel pusher and a stacker trailer- doesn't wanna get stuck. No dust either. :D

Yeah and God forbid any dust get IN his coach :D sorry Ynot, just had to put that in there. I'll be out there Friday night instead of Thursday. Leaving around 5:30pm or so.

  5. Yeah was thinking of that also, but it's gonna be hard to justify that amount of money to the wife, even though it's her idea to get a new one. Right now, her rail rocks for what she has. It will dune most anywhere, but just the sight of some whoops makes me shiver. A long travel is my ideal car. Maybe I can talk her into it. Maybe I can find one online for a good price.

  6. For those of you who didn't see the Oakland/Seattle game tonight and watch the guy from Oakland knee the guy from Seattle in the nards...holy shiat, he lifted him off the ground! That guy should be 86'd from the NFL for life! I don't give a crap who you are, how much you make...you pull something like that and expect to keep your job, I don't think so. Shame on you Oakland!

  7. The wife has decided she wants a smoother ride, so that means a new rail. I've been looking at a Sand Trix car and would like some input. The car I'm looking at is this one:http://www.sandtrix.com/Ecotec.html

I have a budget and this one meets it. Of couse I would get some side panels, roof panel and some billet stuff.

  8. I have never and I mean never had a good experience with dealers in town. I always buy my quads from Utah. I have great experiences with Cedar Ridge in Cedar City and with Stephen Wade in St. George. The last quad I bought which was a KFX50, I bought on Ebay from a guy in town...paid $950 for it, 2005 and he delivered it to my house. Stephen Wade brought the 250ex to my house for $25.00 and Cedar Ridge hooked me up big time on my 04 YFZ450. Nothing against Vegas dealers, they just don't know what customer service is. If the dealers here treated people like the dealers up in Utah treat people, they would have way more customers coming in from other states paying cash. Just my .02

  9. From what I hear about the 08 Fords is they will be twin turbo. Also, I heard today that maybe, GM will be putting the CAT in their 08 trucks. For now, I'm gonna keep my Ford. Love the 7.3, it looks good, rides good and to be honest, I'm not in any race to get to the dunes..I save the speed for sand. And the best thing of all, my truck is paid for. So until the twin turbo or CAT comes out, I'm staying with the 7.3 PSD. Thanks for all the opinions. See everyone in the sand.....whoo hooo only 1 week to go

  10. Okay, I am in the market for a new truck. I currently have a 2002 Ford F250 PSD with 7.3. I love my truck, however, my kids are getting taller and losing some serious leg room in the back. Right now, I am looking at the Dodge Mega Cab 3500 and the Chevy. I'd like to know from you duners out there the what ya think. I am kinda leaning towards the Mega Cab for the leg room. Give me some opinions.

  11. For those of you that heard it, "I thought you had a hole in your lip" :laughoff:

Pete, maybe start a new post for a Vet Day DDR ride? I may try and go on a quad and buggy ride this time. I'm off on Friday so I am headed out Thursday afternoon.

  12. Sonofabiatch :laughoff: I figured it was coming, but thought it may just be a real thing...but NOOOO, I was talking to my wife just now while watching it and of course, my daughter was right behind me cause I said, honey wanna see a ghost...her scream along with that fugger jumping out at me scared the absolute crap right outta me :laughoff::laughoff:

  13. I am a firm believer in pack it in and PACK IT MORE out. Now I really don't have to even ask my kids to start picking up the left over trash in camp before we leave, they just do it. Even though I expect them to pick up any trash around, I still praise them for doing it....pass it to them and hopefully they'll pass it on to their kids (now there's a scary thought).

From now on though, I will make it a point to go to Comp with the kids and pick up trash on our last day, maybe just bring lunch over there.

    See everyone Vet Days weekend.

  14. Here are some pics I took. I have lots, so I'll post gradually. I had a great time on the DDR ride. Didn't get to the Potluck or any other things for that matter. I made it a point to let the kids ride as much as possible. Had to take them over to the wash for some safer riding. We will be out Vets Day and that's gonna be MY ride time. It was great riding with everyone and I can't wait to get back out there!!! :beercheers:

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

    I-15 BARSTOW PAVING PROJECT UPDATE

San Bernardino County – A $54 million pavement rehabilitation project continues on Interstate 15 through Barstow. The 50-mile project began in early April 2005 and will resurface 50 miles of I-15 in both directions from East Main Street in Barstow to Rasor Road. A 4.6-mile truck-climbing lane will also be built from north of Main Street to south of Ghost Town Road.

The project requires daytime lane closures for paving in favorable temperatures. One lane will be available in each direction at all times. I-15 is subject to lane closures from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Motorists are advised that these lane closures may cause delays of up to one hour. The project is expected to be complete by spring 2007.

Please plan ahead and add some extra time to your trip across the desert. Bring water and perhaps a snack. Merge early. Drivers who wait until the last second to merge, in an effort to get a better place in traffic lines, often cause the deadly chain reaction of multiple rear-end collisions further back down the line.
