  1. Thanks for all the input. I have decided to keep my F250. Yeah I love my truck, I even love it more knowing it's paid for. I have enough power as it stands and it's really not a race to see who gets to the dunes first, so with that said, I am going to save up some money over the off season and buy a semi. Like Ynot said, it's really not about the power as much as the control and breaking. Thanks for all the input!
  2. Okay, I have a 2002 F250 PSD with 57,000 miles on it and it's a great truck, but today I got to sit in the 2006 Dodge Ram Mega Cab Cummins. I'm seriously debating trading in my truck for this truck and I'm kinda stuck on what to do. I'd like some input from the DDR group. They are offering me $26,000 trade in value sit unseen right now against the Mega Cab at $46,000 plus some rebates of about $4,000. The reason I am thinking of switching is power, but then again, I don't know if I'm going to gain anymore power than I have. Right now I run a 4" Banks exhaust, guages, Edge programmer. It's got power and I pull Mt. Potosi with a full load in a 40 foot 5er at 48 mph. Will I get anymore gains from a Dodge Cummins? Also, I am thinking of a dually. I know I saw a DDR sticker on the back of a Ford dually coming home from the clean-up and I would like to know if having a dually makes a difference in towing stability?? My wife thinks I'm nuts for thinking of this, but I had to ask. Thanks for any input.
  3. Here's how I roll, but I'm not going anywhere this weekend...FLU!
  4. Wow Terry, I had no idea that gray water was not illegal to dump out there. I always questioned it and really never thought to ask because I just don't do it. I may rethink it now instead of hauling the gray back with me, maybe not in the actual dunes, but on the access road.
  5. Verizon is about the only cell phone service that works out there. Sprint works, but only in certain places...Nextel does work, but usually only at the top of the rock hill on the flats, Cingular does not work at all. I have Cingular on my phone and blackberry, but I buy prepaid minutes from Verizon just for the dunes just in case I need more beer from someone that hasn't left Vegas yet.
  6. Cool! Long stories involving unpleasant experiences are my kinda stories. I'll keep looking.
  7. I have a question. Is this an invite only or can any newbie to the forum join in? Also, is this every Thursday? I'd like to make it on a Thursday night if I can get a baby sitter for the kids. Which BWW do you go to?
  8. I can honestly say, if I see someone verifiable dumping a black tank anywhere in the dunes, access road or other, he will get an up close and personal view of his own turds . I on the other hand, always start letting my fresh water drain out as soon as I start pulling out of camp...Now that the Silverton has shut down, I just go across the street to the truck stop, pay $10.00 to dump and I get to use their hose to hook up to the sani-flush to really get it clean. Also, if you get your rig washed for $1.00 a foot, you get to dump for free.
  9. Here's mine..05 Wanderer Wagon.
  10. You have a number? On my last project I used a company out of San Diego and they did a great job! I just don't know what kinda color I want to go with. I did a Raptor that ended up in Sand Addiction magazine. The color was Red Vein that looked saweeet, but I wanna do something real different but not funky. I was thinking of a Black Vein look with some silver in it and maybe some silver plastics. Just don't know, but I have all summer to get it done.
  11. Okay, the season is pretty much over for me and I'm gonna tear down the YFZ to the frame and get her ready for next season. I am done with chrome! I am so tired of having paid a butt load of money only to have the chrome get dull before the 1st trip is over, so I'm thinking of PC with the exception of the swingarm. So any input from you guys/gals would be appreciated.
  12. Mike, I'll send you a picture of the cleanup shirt tonight.
  13. 2 Tattoos..Right and Left arm. I'm planning on my new ones soon (as soon as the wife agrees). Here are mine. No piercings
  14. Cool, I just noticed I made it in this picture...gray shirt, bald head standing with my wife in the pink.. I agree with getting the family up at 4am to get out there. My wife got off work at 4am and then we were off, kids in the PJ's and as soon as we showed up, it was trash pickn' time. I too saw a lot of people not helping out, however, I did see some camps pull out trash bags while we were walking around cleaning up and yeah, they started picking up as well. My 12 year old was moaning about last year's cleanup, but this year, he really stepped up and filled some bags up with trash. My 4 and 6 year old were out there with stick magnets going through fire pits getting nails and screws out of them. I was very proud of them for doing this and not a single "when are we going to ride" came out of their mouths. I have been riding all my life and duning for the last 10 years or so and I can say that it has seriously brought my family closer and I have met and enjoyed many trips with friends. This is beyond a sport, this is a lifestyle and as long as there are people out there like us who love the dunes and respect her, we will have many weekends enjoying it. I applaud everyone involved.
  15. Neither of those are mine. The blue one was a SU car and the Flashpoint car just pulled out of the trailer while I had the camera out. He could not get it fired up so I didn't get to hear it.
