  1. I rode the Yamaha 450 again today and I have decided to get that. That thing is a beast and I love it. As soon as I get it, I'll post pics. Should be sometime in the next few weeks.
  2. After serious thought, I am going to buy a dirtbike. I don't have any plans to get rid of my quad, I just want something that I can do some tighter trail riding and maybe do a few WORCS races on. I have looked at most of the bikes out there, with the exception of Suzuki and I have narrowed it down to a KTM 250 or a Yamaha WR250. I looked at the 450 models and rode them, but damn were they more power than I really wanted to hang on to. I am wanting to get something that will accomodate Trails, WORCS and maybe...just maybe a few BITD events. I've done every event in BITD on my quads and they absolutely beat the crap out of me over the years. Any input is appreciated.
  3. I have Cingular for my personal phone and Nextel for business phone. I absolutely HATE Sprint/Nextel, but I have to have it. I love Cingular for the service in town and on trips to CA, but I also do not like the fact that Cingular doesn't get service at Dumont so I did the next best thing. I bought a cheap Verizon phone and got pre-paid minutes. I take that phone with me to Dumont and that's it. Cingular has the roll over minutes, which to my suprise, really adds up. So personally, I would go with Cingular and get a cheap Verizon phone with pre-paid minutes. Just my .02
  4. When is the Paiute trail ride again? Right now my bike is in the trailer and the trailer is at the dealer getting serviced...

    DDR Sticker

Was driving to my house and saw a Gold truck in a driveway with a real big DDR sticker on the back window. Anyhow, it was inside Camden Park on Pebble and Maryland...just wondering if you live in there or not..I'm just around the corner.
  7. I currently am one of those that have a Razor for my phone, Blackberry for my company emails and a Palm Lifedrive for my PDA. I've been looking at the Palm Treo 650 from Cingular and wanted to know if anyone has one and what you think of it. I just want everything in one and I really don't care about getting my emails pushed right to the Blackberry anymore. If you have a Palm Treo 650 through Cingular, I'd love to hear some feedback on it.

I believe Discount Firearms on Highland allows 7.62 rounds and I think The Gun Store on Tropicana will allow it. Discount Firearms is your best bet. They have a long fire line and move a tremendous amount of air through the range.

  11. There are 2 types of riders...those who have crashed and those who WILL crash. I myself have been down twice. 1st time was not pretty..October 1993 about 30 of us were buzzing Mt. Charleston at a good clip. It seemed the residents decided to shovel some gravel into one of the left hand turns. I was in the lead by about 1/4 mile and when I came into the turn, there it was...GRAVEL all over the road. I had 2 choices, lay her down and take my chances with the asphalt or eat shiat and go into the trees and break my neck. Well, I opted for number one...but the problem came when my ankle got caught between the shifter and foot peg..Instantly broke the ankle then came the hip, then came my shin. Finally I got the bike kicked off me. I put my hands over my face shield...BAD IDEA! As I started flipping, I broke both elbows. After flipping I started sliding (thank God for leather) but that damn mile marker sign just had to jump out and break my ribs. I came to a stop face down in the dirt. All I heard was voices yelling my name and I thought for sure I was a gonner, but I wasn't..They closed down the road both directions to Kyle Canyon and flight for life came to the rescue. While in our fabulous UMC trauma center, the NHP trooper decided to come in and give me a butt load of tickets...Speeding (speedo stuck at 132), Failure to maintain control, illegal lane change (bike went over double yellow while sliding), distruction of state property (mile marker sign) and to top it all off...no proof of registration or insurance (it's probably still somewhere in the woods). Yeah that was a bad night...not to mention I lived in an apartment on the 2nd floor so I had to stay with my Mom for 3 months until I could walk up the stairs. Think that would have stopped me...oh no I'm a glutton for punishment. So I figure get rid of the crotch rocket and get a cruiser. July 2005, sitting at a stoplight Windmill and 215 at a red friggn' light. Lady in a mini-van just didn't see that big white bike, bright white shirt I was wearing and the damn red light staring everyone in the face decides to plow right into my a$$ end. Well that sent me to the doc of rotator cuff surgery along with a dislocated humeris (sp?). Think I'd learn my lesson? Oh no, I'm still riding, but you can bet your life I wear leather, watch what's going on with the cages around me and pray everytime I get on the bike. As for the trick riders, yeah it takes skill and a large set of BALLZ to do the sh*t they do...I admire their skill and hope they have lots of life insurance. Take care and keep the rubber side down.

I have a Remington 870 Express (one of the most reliable shotguns). I tell my wife, if you hear something in the house, just rack one in the tube and if they still stay there after hearing that, just fire in the general direction and you are bound to hit something....just make sure it's not me or the kids Also, I use 00buck in mine, this will make sure you are not being judged by an intruder that's still breathing.

There are safety slugs out there for any weapon http://www.corbon.com/ this round is designed specifically not to exit any person. It is a round that has numerous, small lead pellets in it. I have seen this round fired point blank range into a wood wall and did not come through the other side. So if you are concerned with a round going through someone, try this for any weapon.

Love the rifle! Where is the Beretta? Also, what is the MATCH slide for? Is that for comp shooting? I'd like to shoot the rifle at long distance to see what it would do. I have a Remington 8000 series 7mm but it's hard to shoot with my shoulder surgery back in September. I'm looking for a new 870 Shotgun for home defense and tomorrow I'm possibly getting a new Glock .357 and/or a Lady Smith for my wife chambered .357. At least this will give her the option to fire .38+p and .357. I'd like to put together a shoot date for anyone interested. Discount Firearms on Highland seems to have the best shooting range. I am very careful where I shoot in the desert, never know who's riding their quads out there.

Hopefully this won't get deleted but here goes. I am an avid gun collector. What is your weapon of choice? If you have pics, post them, I'd love to see what everyone has.
  19. I will be signing up for a business membership and sending my check in tomorrow. Haven't been around for a few weeks, so I didn't see this thread. The check is in the mail tomorrow.

That looks like fun for sure! I'm trying to talk the significant other into letting me buy a boat. I've never been into boating, but it's something I've been looking in to. Hopefully by next summer, she will give in and let me get a nice one but it's gonna be a lot of :mc_smiley: to get the one I want
  22. I'm thinking about it. If I go, I will roll out Friday morning and come back same day. There are going to be a lot of things going Saturday at LVHD parking lot plus some other things around town. You going?

    Summer

The wife and me have a cabin in Utah. It's not too far from Coral Pink and I can ride the trails (500 miles) of them where my cabin is at.
  24. So far I have been through 3 trailers ranging from a 30' bumper pull to my current 40' 5er which is my last (so my wife says). I have never had a problem towing them and power is plenty. I like the programmer since it allows me to drive in Stock, Tow, Race and Extreme modes, although I have never gone passed Race. My tranny holds strong and my truck is used almost nightly pulling a 7x14 enclosed trailer with pressure washing equipment. Before I bought any of my trailers, I had air bags installed with onboard air compressor and a set of helper springs, so when I do put my 5er or pressure washing trailer on it, the truck does not sag at all. I only have about 57k miles on it and I bought the 100k mile extended warranty through Ford, so I am good for a few more miles on the tranny. Hopefully it will explode before the warranty is up and I can just get a new one. I also had commercial brakes put on from Ford installed and that helps out tremendously with the trailers. Hopefully I can get my semi before the end of summer and have my truck lifted again. If you know of anyone selling a nice Day cab FL, Peterbuilt or similar, let me know. I am also in the market for a Box Van, 14' box, diesel preffered but I will take a gas motor.
