Ross and Alice Posted December 6, 2005 Share Posted December 6, 2005 I'll have to dig around, but I took pix of the filming of the SAAB commercial where the convertable is zooming across the sand, and the SAAB jet fighters swoop down and fly along with it. It was filmed on the flats between the big and little dumes, d3 on the YFZ Bob map. Durning rehersal, the driver of the SAAB hit a worm track at about 80 MPH and really got his bell run deluxe. He was cold cocked, the car damaged. The jets were never at the dunes, added in post production. After my pix were seen on the ASA site, SAAB magazine asked to use the pix as Spy "Photos" of the new model. Damfino, all SAABs look the same to me. Lots of commercials are filmed at Dumont. When torch TV was doing a 3 day filming, my daughter hooked up with the crew and pro riders and had a blast. Team Honda re-jetted her quad gratis. Alway a fresh new story and adventure at Dumont. ynot Posted January 11, 2006 Share Posted January 11, 2006 I once came over the far south end dune up where Don and Joe camp to find them filming a UPS commercial Camels and all! That was the most unusaul sight I have seen out there other than seeing all the feathers that a band named the Cranberry's had used in a video and then left.
