October 13 Entrance Update

 

Thanks to Paul Carter for sending over these photos from Dumont today!

 

There's some standing water and muddy runoff across the entrance road. Paul reported that his motorhome scraped in one spot on the way in.

 

He also mentioned there are no speed bumps in the entrance lane anymore.

 

Take it slow if you're heading out, especially with a motorhome or trailer.

 

Anyone else out there today? How are the dunes looking?

Beautiful weekend out here. Several camps out here before the Halloween madness.

Several camps already before Halloween sounds about right for that stretch. I'd be curious how the wind has been treating the open sites, since early-season trips there often hinge more on exposure than on temperature. Anyone who was out last weekend notice whether the mornings stayed calm or turned gusty by mid-day? That would help those of us planning a first run before the crowds really build.
