Dune season is upon us! 2026–2027 Dumont Dunes season passes are now available, so now is a great time to pick yours up before heading out to the dunes. Laminated season passes are available at select off-site vendors in Las Vegas, Baker, Pahrump and Shoshone, as well as directly from the BLM Barstow Field Office. Full list here. Online non-laminated passes are also available through Recreation.gov. Keep in mind that season passes are NOT available from the entrance fee machines at Dumont. Those machines sell weekly passes only. Vendor availability can change throughout the season, so check our Dumont Dunes Passes page for the current vendor list, pass prices and purchasing information. It's also a good idea to call the vendor to check on availability for heading there: https://www.dumontduneriders.com/invision/passes/ Grab your pass, get the toys ready, and we’ll see you at Dumont!

Sandrail Chassis Design in AutoCAD (Solidworks)
King Cranium replied to TheDudeWhoWantsToBuildACar's topic in Sandrail Talk
I’m very happy you answered your own question with research very curious how this car turned out with a front engine instead of a typical rear engine to mendeola transaxle. As well as how the suspension geometry you used eventually performed. If somehow this reaches you definitely post some pics. Attached I added in one of the only other cars that ever used that kind of build for a true sandcar I can think of besides the whipped sand jeeps -

Selling my complete Sandcraft Destroyer Slayer paddle setup on 15” Fuel Forged ultralight wheels. These came off my 2023 Can-Am Maverick X3 X rs and should fit most Can-Am X3 years using the 4x137 bolt pattern. Complete setup includes: o Sandcraft 32x13x15 Destroyer Slayer rear paddle tires o 12-paddle setup for 200–240 HP o Sandcraft Mohawk front tires o 15” Fuel Forged ultralight forged wheels o Complete set of 4, mounted and ready to run Great setup for Little Sahara, Sand Hollow, St. Anthony, Glamis, etc. If you know what a quality lightweight sand setup costs, you know what these are. Lightly used and in very good condition This was a very expensive setup new — approximately $5,000 invested. For comparison, the exact 32x13x15 Sandcraft Slayer/Mohawk 12-paddle package currently lists for $1,970 new, and higher paddle-count versions go over $2,000. Current 15x10 Fuel forged UTV wheels in the X3's 4x137 pattern are around $608 EACH, so roughly $2,400+ just for a comparable set of forged wheels. These are true lightweight forged Fuel wheels, not the much cheaper cast UTV wheels.

Halloween Weekend is coming to Dumont Dunes October 30 through November 1, 2026, and that means dune season is officially kicking off! After a long, hot summer, Halloween Weekend is traditionally one of the first big weekends of the season at Dumont. Camps fill back up, the weather finally starts cooling down, and the dunes come alive again with sand cars, side-by-sides, quads, bikes, decorated camps, and plenty of Halloween fun. Halloween at Dumont Halloween at Dumont has become a tradition of its own, and Saturday, October 31 will be the big day. Bring the costumes, decorate the camp, and most importantly, don't forget plenty of candy! Friends of Dumont Dunes Trunk or Treat Halloween festivities get started Saturday afternoon with the Friends of Dumont Dunes annual Trunk or Treat from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Vendor Row. It's a great way for families and kids to get together for some Halloween fun before heading back to their camps for the evening. After the Trunk or Treat wraps up, the Halloween fun continues throughout Dumont with the traditional camp-to-camp trick-or-treating Saturday night. Many families participate in both, so if you're camping for the weekend, be ready for costumed kids making the rounds through the camps and make sure you have plenty of candy to hand out. Halloween decorations have also become a big part of the weekend. Many duners decorate their camps, trailers, motorhomes, and toys with lights, inflatables, pumpkins, and Halloween displays. Some camps go all-out, so get creative and make your camp part of the fun! The 2026-2027 Dune Season Begins Halloween Weekend means another Dumont season is underway! As always on a busy holiday weekend, watch your speed around camps, keep an eye out for kids and pedestrians after dark, light your whip, and give yourself plenty of room when riding in crowded areas. So get the toys ready, stock up on candy, dig out the Halloween decorations and costumes, and we'll see everyone back in the dunes! Halloween Weekend 2026 October 30 – November 1, 2026 Dumont Dunes, California Friends of Dumont Dunes Trunk or Treat: Saturday, October 31, 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM See you in the sand!

farfiqdunner started following Trailer for Long Travel Sand Car
-
This trailer was custom built by R.P. Industries of Pahrump. All rust shown is surface only and does not negatively impact the structure. The trailer was built for wide long travel sandrails. It features a Warn Winch System. It has a heavy duty single square bar toung when you need to maneuver in a tight spot. The bed is 8 foot wide by 12 feet in length. It can accomodate most long travel cars. It has an adjustable hitch to accomodate any hitch height. It has a hidden breaker bar and deep socket to fit all nuts except wheel lugs. The tounge jack is heavy duty and can lift 5000lb. If you get a flat on the trailer while towing no worries. Leave the sand car loaded and move the tounge jack to the rear. Then jack up the rear of the trailer remove the flat and put on the spare! So easy! Deck is made of heavy duty galvanized steel. Trailer has electric brakes and tire covers. The two axles are 3,500 lbs. Total load weight 7,000 lbs. The ramps are adjustable in width. So anything from a polaris single seat to the widest of long travel cars can be loaded. A very rare trailer to find. $3,000 (702) 505-2192

Dumont Dunes Cleanup - Taking Care of the Place We All Enjoy
dunefreak posted a article in Dumont News
Keeping Dumont Dunes open, clean, and accessible takes a strong community effort. The annual Dumont Dunes Cleanup is being organized by Friends of Dumont Dunes, in coordination with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). While this is not a Dumont Dune Riders–hosted event, we want to help spread the word and encourage the off-road community to support an effort that directly benefits all of us who enjoy Dumont. According to information shared by Friends of Dumont Dunes, the cleanup is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14. Volunteers typically meet in the morning to receive assignments and cleanup areas before heading out across the dunes and camp area. In past years, lunch has usually been provided around noon, followed by a raffle as a thank-you to volunteers. While specific details may vary year to year, Friends of Dumont Dunes has indicated they are currently seeking donations to support the event. Friends of Dumont Dunes is also accepting donations to help offset cleanup costs and support their ongoing efforts to protect and preserve Dumont Dunes. Anyone interested in contributing or volunteering is encouraged to reach out to Melanie Cooper through the Friends of Dumont Dunes Facebook group for the most up-to-date information. These cleanups play an important role in demonstrating responsible recreation and stewardship to land managers and help ensure continued access to Dumont for future generations. For official updates, meeting locations, and any last-minute changes, please refer directly to the Friends of Dumont Dunes Facebook group. https://www.facebook.com/share/g/16y8GiQcqS/ -
Presidents Weekend at Dumont is almost here! It's Feb 13–15, 2026 and it’s going to be a good one. February usually brings slightly warmer weather, and if we get some wind beforehand the dunes should be smooth with some fast lines. Vendor Row will be loaded with vendors offering food, firewood, parts, swag, and the usual holiday-weekend chaos, so if you forgot something there’s a good chance you’ll find it there. The holiday weekend means heavy traffic, so keep your head on a swivel and take extra caution. And don’t forget: pack it in, pack it out. There is no trash collection at Dumont. Have a fun, safe weekend if you plan on heading out!
