  1. Adam, I will introduce you to Garret my Grandson, He likes to ride and is a great ride leader but likes to find jumps and enjoys the dunes. He rides a YFZ 450. He is a good kid and will show you Dumont. I think you will enjoy riding with him. He will be there that weekend.

  2. Jodi your report is right on! I will just add a little to the weekend. Decisions, decisions, decisions … I thought about this all week … Well, Friday came and around 1600 hours sitting at my cubicle, I decided – “Let’s go to Dumont” My husband and I had everything locked & loaded by 1830hours. Bye, Bye Vegas!!! When we arrived at Jodi & Mike’s camp they had a few friends hanging out by the camp fire. We unloaded our toys and hung around the camp fire for a few. We started Saturday morning with - Wakey Wakey eggs and bacey!!! And then we headed out towards the North Pole to watch Mike’s son Justin ride his new toy. Super Cute! We made it back just in time for FOOTBALL. Oh’ yes, I paced back-n-forth for the Niner’s – and holy crap, 4:02 left on the clock – Alex Smith proved himself tremendously - The game kept me away from riding. After a great win by the 49ers, Mike turned on the Bronco’s game on the projector for Jodi. OUCH!!! OUCH!!! The game was so bad that I convinced Mike to get the UFC fight. That was so much more interesting! By the way thankx for getting the fight Good Morning Sunday. Joe Duner arrived at our camp to say he was going for a ride. I asked if I could take passenger. Such an awesome guy, he said, yes! I hopped on in and off we went. WHOOOHOOOO - weeeeeweeeee - oh' crap, transitioning on my side - fun fun fun... *It was very nice to meet you* We planned on heading home Sunday night but it was such a nice weekend we stayed another night. Monday morning we went for a ride – Two RZR’z and Two quads – we made our way to the North Pole and back to camp in an hour. The dunes were so soft and smooth it made for a great ride. … Oh’ snap I forgot to mention the funniest part about the morning …. Mike’s son Justin was playing on the hill, up and down all morning on his quad – and then … Mike and I at the same time seen Justin’s quad upside down on the dune. (My heart sank) … Mike screamed Justin’s name so loud (the fear in his voice was priceless - I knew it was a fear scream, but he sounded like a little biiiioooootttttcccchhhh) … As I headed towards the hill, I seen Justin walking around my truck with my husband…I tried telling Mike, “Justin is over here”, he was still running towards the quad. Here comes my husband completely calm, “Hey, Justin came and asked me to help him with is quad.” I asked Justin if he was okay, and he replied, “I forgot to put on my wrist strap.” (Meaning: engine, cut off lanyard)…. Once I realized everything was okay with Justin, I couldn’t stop laughing at how Mike screamed. Thanks to everyone for a relaxing weekend

  4. Due to traffic heading out to Vegas on the 15, we didn't make it out there until after dark on Friday night. The road in was a B, and there was plenty of action around the ranger station. Looked like they were manning up for a BIG weekend. The flats were EMPTY though. No big deal, as we had two problems to rectify over the course of the weekend: too much beer and too much firewood. Must be getting old because although it was a beautiful night, we only made it until about 11 PM. Woke up Saturday morning to a COLD trailer. WTF?!? Check the propane, and I find two empty tanks (I store my trailer at my rental property and I think the tenants were using the propane to run their BBQ. Bastards moved out last week too ) So we make a quick run into Baker to swap a tank and grub at Big Boy. After returning to camp, my YFZ has a dead battery and the Banshee hasn't been started in over a year. I brace myself for a long morning. To my surprise, the Banshee started after draining and refilling with fresh fuel. Ran a little rough for a few minutes, but cleaned itself out and ran like a champ for the first ride in over a season. Felt AWESOME to go through the gears after a season off from sand. We ran through the dunes over to the south pole, back though the dunes to the north pole, then back to camp by the second finger. Effin PERFECT weather, and NOBODY out there. We were able to FLY through the dunes because of how lonely it was. The only thing that slowed us sometimes was the poor visibility at high noon. After some lunch and getting the 450 running we head out for an afternoon run. Looked like everybody that was there was out riding at that time. We had a first timer (on sand) with us on a two wheeler and he was having a blast. We had to cut our ride when the sun began setting (no headlight on the dirt bike). Quenching our thirst lasted until about 830 when we decided to bring out the grill and make ourselves some burgers. We were famished at this point and didn't care that it was COLD, we set that bad boy up near the fire and proceeded to make ourselves some genuine gourmet chizz!! Sunday morning came a little soon and we all slept in because we finally had a warm trailer and well, we're getting old and a day of riding and a night of drinking makes my pansy-a$$ a little tired. We went out for a morning ride which lasted until past noon. We did NOT want to head back to camp (it meant that we were gonna pack up and head home). The wind started to get annoying when we were getting sandblasted any time we crested a razor, so we called it quits at about 130. We sat in the trailer and watched a movie waiting for the wind to calm itself some. We didn't end up leaving until past 5. I cannot wait to get out there again. EFFE taking a season off! I need to make up for lost time!
