  1. My husband and I were fortunate enough to spend a few nights around the camp fire with Bert. Speaking with him was a pleasure. "True American Wholesome Man". I can remember the trip like it was yesterday - that weekend was my first attempt at baking cookies...well I burnt them! Kristen brought her tray of cookies to the campfire and Bert's smile was priceless. We shared small political talk about guns and our government. Bert is a genuine man. As my husband (Bill) said when he heard the news, "He's an all around Nice Guy". We are both shocked and humbled by his loss. I send my condolences to his wife, children, family & friends. (I'm still shaking my head in disbelief)
  2. I agree; In Memory of a great Duner (Bert), Dune picture of the Month should be him. R.I.P

  6. ... and this is one reason I like DDR people; never afraid to stop and assist someone. Good Job Steve! As for BLM not being on site, that's ridiculous! I wish all DDR and duners a safe & Joyful Thanksgiving.
  7. It's been a busy year, but we are finally making our way to Dumont! Much needed getaway We are headed out Fri-Tues. I definitely would like to partake in cookie&milk!!! Hilarious
  8. Bob, I never even got a ride (I'm totally pouting like a 8yo). I am sad to see you selling your car, but I do wish you all the luck. your spatula thief, Christina .
  9. our $89 hr labor rate is tough to beat! We have a friendly knowledgeable staff of 7 waiting to serve Las Vegas! Thanks I see you are asking an hourly rate for labor, great. Will you install equitment purchased elsewhere/online? and will the charge still be $89 an hour? Also do you do Line-X? I am shopping around at this time...Need a few things done before Dune Season starts. Thanks.
  10. Dumont – December 07-08, 2012 Left Vegas singing Christmas music and arrived at Dumont 0343 hours…I jumped out of the truck and went straight to bed. I was too exhausted to unload. Friday morning around 1000, I woke up to the wonderful sound Ynot’s engine. I unloaded toys…played on the hill in front of camp while Vegas Style flew his kite. Later that afternoon Ynot came over and asked if we wanted to go on a ride. Well, I decided to put on my big girl chonies and followed – I am glad I decided to go. FUN FUN FUN … (soft rippled sand to sleek smooth sand) Later that evening my Husband & kiddo arrived – Just in time for campfire laughs, laughs, laughs and wow – more laughs …. We really enjoyed the campfire! Saturday morning – normally I would say Wakey Wakey Eggs and Bakey and have everything on the table; my head could not comprehend this. (I am sure it’s due to all laughing the night before) Much thanks to Steve for providing my family with breakfast. Later that after the Aleve & few bottles of water settled; Bill, Aundrea and I headed over to the kiddy dunes and played around. We kept the day very chill and relaxing. As the sun went down the campfire brings everyone together for many more laughs… “Stranger danger” rings in my head! Sunday morning; Steve led a play ride…we headed over to Comphill and then made our way through back side of comp, over to camp. It was very nice to meet new people and to read all of your stories & see pics. BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND! *I will try to upload the few photo's I took later* Adam you were gone the entire weekend; I didn't even know you stayed with us Your welcome. Steve - What the Heck does Bill think he is doing on my quad - That azzhole! (sarcastic) LOL Good Pic. Thanks again everyone for the fun & laughter.
  11. 3am... dang that's DJ hours there. I get off work at midnight and normally fall asleep late. I would rather drive there and wake up in the sand...Bill and Aundrea will have everything locked & loaded - So, I will hit the road around 0030 hours. Ice and Gas is all I need. I will crack on the radio and sing my heart out! I think I will crack open a RockStar too! It will be nice seeing you out there. I can't recall the last time we hung out...Maybe when you DJ'd Aundrea's Birthday -hum Let's ride - Just a reminder - I don't jump-hehehehe or if I can't keep up, I will be at the bottom of the dunes waiting
  12. Rap - If everything works out fine, I should be there around 3-4am tonight into tomorrow morning. Bill & the kiddo will be there late Friday night. I will try to swing by, if not come find me camped with Vegas Style. Kristen - I will be out there... Hopefully we can get together and ride; I would like to follow you
  13. Weather Forcast - Looks Awesome! I'm going to make this weekend happen
  14. Stacey, Family & Friends of Craig, We will never know why this happened at this location or time. Angels are created every day, every minute, and every second. Sometimes they are taken from us by tragic accidents. Pointing blame is not doing anyone justice; leave this to the detectives/police. I was lucky enough to meet Craig a little over a month ago at a house gathering. He accompanied Stacey and we shared many laughs. Craig was very polite, fun, and shared a few laughs with us. I am glad that I took a few moments to ask him how he was doing; we shared stories about riding and our next trip. I don’t recall all the details of our conversation; he definitely loved riding. To be taken from this world by a tragic accident leaves the living heartbroken; but reality is – Craig left this world loving what he enjoyed doing. His last memories are of Mother Nature, friends, and family. In honor of Craig, I think the best thing we all can do is be more cautious. Stacey, It's been hard for me losing my father and a friend (Fellow Duner). Camping brings me a sense of peace; knowing this is something I did with both of them. I know it’s hard for you right now to go to Dumont – But when you are ready; I will be there to take you. We can hop into one of our vehicles and do a day trip. We can sit at comp-hill until you feel a sense of peace or just to cry. I am here for you. Mauh xoxoxoxox
  15. BitterSweet! My baby has SOLD!!! So many great memories.
  16. This is a very interesting thread….Controversy! I believe they are doing this for our SAFETY and to make a buck (which whatever, at least my tax dollars are going somewhere)! For the past few years people have complained about the economy going downhill & NO jobs – well….. Someone is finally putting our men & women to work. Hopefully this will open more careers for other men & women. I like to see my tax dollars being used for my own safety. I also noticed the Sheriffs had a laptop to possible check subjects for wants and warrants – How do I get that gig? I would sit on the back of a truck and status check possible wanted people. Then when I was done working, climb into my dune home or chill by the camp fire – Not a bad day at the office J Just info: If I am not mistaken most agencies that will be entering another agencies territory, they will notify each other; so I found it to be B.S. that BLM did not know the Sheriffs would be there. *just my opinion* Do I agree with searches at the gate? … I am on the fence with this; if the Officers and K9 can get rid of the drugs before someone gets “high” and causes a tragic accident – then GREAT, I am all for it. Now, if they wanted to randomly search my dune home or vehicle for no reason; I would probably have an attitude and request a “search warrant” (a search warrant normally has to be approved by a judge and that takes times). It seems very hypocritical of me because I try to play by the rules (bend them for little things – like a glass bottle), but then again; Get rid of the scum bags that ruin it for people like myself that go for a goodtime. Knowing your rights as a civilian will help protect you and the officer that is doing his job. On another note: I found it very entertaining watching from above the Ranger Station. Who drives a motorcycle to the dunes? (I’m still shaking my head and laughing) Yep, he was pulled over and checked. LOL “He just might have been the drug dealer “(sarcastic) Oh’ yea and the little Smart Car that was the size of my RZR J
  17. Congrats on your sale Thanks for sending people my way to sell mine.
  18. Great post Babe. This has been a wonderful toy for the past three years. You forgot to mention: most hours are girl driven - LOL
  19. Sept 23rd will probably be too hot to enjoy a good ride. I will be sitting this one out. I will look forward to read about your adventure. Have fun & be safe
  20. I just received our pass. Thank you for the fast shipment.
  21. Thanks for the quick link. Once our season pass comes in the mail - We will be ready for Halloween.
  22. Adam, I filled out all three documents... The only reason I'm doing all three documents is because everytime I talk to someone at the DMV they seem to not know what the heck is going on. They have not worked out the kinks in the system. I have titles that have been signed over to me; I purchased my 400 over 5yrs ago. I have lost the bill of sale, but I still have the title...The DMV Rep advised that I can not title this bike in my name without a Bill of Sale - WTH??? I have the title!!! I am lucky that I have a co-worker that notarized all my ducuments. FYI - Nevada State Bank on the corner of Commerce and Craig has a Notary. I have used them in the past. Jill - I understand that I do not have to title our toys, but I would like to just get everything done at once. Plus I would like to have title for the future; just in case I sell the RZRs or one of the bikes.
  23. Adam, Thanks for all you information. I am on a mission to get mine done. Here is where I am at... I started the process by collecting all Titles/MSO’s for our toys. Then filled out the Off-Highway Vehicle Inspection Certificate and asking a Law Enforcement Officer to inspect the VIN#’s. EASY! Then I contacted a customer service rep at the DMV to make sure I had everything in order before mailing documents. Rep advised to fill out “Application for Duplicate Nevada OHV Certificate Title form”. This form requires a notary, so I will be asking another friend to notarize these documents. She also advised to send 20$ for registration and 28.25$ for a Nevada Title = $48.25 per vehicle. The only thing I thought was odd was she suggested sending separate checks for each vehicle and send packet via certified mail. (I am a little bothered by sending 5 checks, but okay) If all goes well I will be sending all documents to the DMV tomorrow – crossing my fingers that they send NV Titles and tags in a timely manner.
  24. Thank you for sharing Summer Dunes. Looks like a great time Great Photo's.
