  1. All I have to say is. When I say the gust gonna blow ya better believe its gonna blow. Fri late night thru sat Morning and beyond was 35-40 mph gust. I saw a small family of mom dad and 2 young kids in a 8 man dome tent being blow to hell. Since I had a 6-8 man trailer rv. I invited them in to my rv. They were soooo happy. I put on some cartoons on a dvd . And they were happy. I'll be at Dumont this weekend again... in my purple people eater sandrail. Lolm

  2. I use to call Bert for questions like this to prevent endless hours of internet searching, He was a walking Sandcar encyclopedia. So if you know that answer just shout it out. What are the DWT beadlock torque specs? There should be a thread for this titled "Questions for Bert"

  6. But all of the Mexican flags are alright by you? How about if it had been an Obama flag? That's cool by you too I would suppose? I mean trampling on the rights of the people and the Constitution seems be oh so alright with so many nowadays. Cute little Obama stickers on so many vehicles that it's just mind numbing. Anyways, point being that what one regime did to a once great nation is not so much different than what this regime is doing to our once great country. And yes, both of them tried/are trying to push their agenda global. One is not much worse than the other. Not saying that I agree with the flag in dispute, there are just others that I find equally or more offensive. And what is it that you suggest be done about it? You're not one of those who believe in the personal freedom and liberties of others as long as they perfectly align with yours are you? I'd say if the children have a question as to what the flag stands for then use it as a time for some education. Otherwise we have these cute little things here in America called rights and one of them is freedom of speech. You also have the right to be offended. I say choose your hatred wisely, maybe start by looking at the occupants of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and tell us who has the worse agenda.... Semper Fi

  8. Slow riding in camp area is a big one - They really should have a speed limit and enforce it in those areas. Teach or at least tell new people in your camp dune etiquette and the rules, even if they think they are to cool and know everything.

  10. People didn't care about the swastika flag... People were having toooo much fun to worry about that stupid flag.. they didn't bother me... I didn't bother them..... plus I didn't go to Dumont to put my blue belt jiujitsu in play. Thats why I compete to release all my anger ... dunes are for duning .... no need to cause trouble. ....thats just me ...

  11. in all my travels and conversations with industry people. the only cause of 1k fires other then carrying fuel cans has been poor dealer prep (fuel line. pinched wiring) the 4 i have been around that burned all were carrying fuel.

  12. I just wanted to post some pics of my recent powdercoat project.. I purchased the car in june from a fellow ddr member who built this car back in 06.. It is a tatum dual sport spider, he purchased a roller from tatum installed a turnkey 500hp ls1 and mendeola s4 transaxle assembled the car and didn't want to take it back apart for some color.. I don't blame him... I decided to go with a candy apple red over a translucent silver powdercoat. I did the floor and skidplates in a silver vein and the trailing arms in a chrome powdercoat... I just finished the car as I was rolling it in the trailer for Halloween at armagosa.. It was a triple shakedown weekend sand car just put back together, new to me motorhome and enclosed trailer all in one weekend... We had a great trip, I did have some very strange intermittent wiring issues with the car but no other issues.. I look forward to running with you guys again..... Also I had the work don't by Snail Performance here in Vegas, they did a beautiful job, they did it for the price they quoted and in the time frame they told me upfront.. I would highly recommend them for any powdercoating project.....

  13. Guys, you really should think before you speak as you are messing with people's safety. There have been almost a dozen 1000 fires, check the rzr forums. There is some major defect in the 1000. I am sure those of you who have one are in denial. But for safety reason you should verify before you say something you know nothing about. The fire started from the rzr fuel tank. The gas can in the back was still intact and only burned after a few minutes of the car melting down. This is from the first hand witnesses. So for those that are driving the 1000 be careful. Do you home work. There was 2 at Dumont last weekend. 3+ at Glamis in the last couple weeks. 1 back east. 1 at Apex and that was only after 15 minutes of searching the web. There are numerous videos and images on Google as well. Thankfully I could find no loss of life yet only burn victims.

  17. Great thread Pete! One thing that was said to me years ago was actually about power tools, but I apply it anywhere that I am doing anything where I can get hurt. "The minute you get comfortable with a tool, put it down and walk away! You have now entered the area of making a mistake that can and almost certainly will hurt you!" I feel the same goes for the dunes, and many other things for that matter. Once you become comfortable with danger, you start letting certain things slide and not paying full attention, that's when accidents happen.
