  1. Promised my daughter I'd take her out as she is a freshman in college and hasn't had a chance to get to the desert this year. My brother asked to use our backyard to get married Friday so we adjusted it to a day trip. So friday afternoon I go to the local motorcycle shop to get a batt for a friend who is already at D, get race gas and pick up XP and Buggy, both batts dead, smart chargers won't work on them so went and bought two new chargers. rolled Xp into driveway and installed power steering in it. Left Xp and rail charging in driveway overnight and started loading at 5am. loaded rail into trailer and backed it up a bit and brand new shifter was stuck in reverse… rolled it back into driveway and headed to my shop to grab another XP. Xp #2 had 2 flats and a dead batt so pulled on out of another one belonging to a friend and hit the road. First dune run 10 min in a rider on a two wheeler in our group seized his bike so we tied the front into the xp and I towed him in. Went on a second ride and and caught the sunset, way stressful / expensive day for 2 dune runs but as we hit the asphalt on the way to Baker my daughter grabbed my hand and dozed off like she did as a little girl and made every second worthwhile

  4. We rolled into Dumont about 2:30pm Thanksgiving day, we couldn't wait to get unloaded and get some sand under the tires of the new RZR. We took advantage of the time most people we eating and got some ride time in! Back to camp as the sun was setting to make a fire and a late Thanksgiving dinner topped off with smores around the fire. My daughters first time having smores she love em. Friday was all duning all day. With just me in the RZR on stock tires I could go up anything and go anywhere, with the family It was a little different story but still not to bad. Hoping to have paddles by the buggy round up. Friday night it was WINDY and I forgot to put the damn awning up (which I hardly ever put down in the first place.) Saturday the wind never stopped but we didn't let that stop us, I actually had some great runs...The dunes were less crowded and smooth(er). We went on a couple runs Sunday then packed it up and headed back to Vegas. Overall super happy with the new machine Water heater went out on the TH so no showers for 4 days I lost my gas cap only to find it after spending $50 on a new one Riding the rzr on to ramps to get it to fit in my TH wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be... 150 miles put on the car in 3 days of duning See you in 2 weeks

  5. So this year I was only able to head out for the day on Thanksgiving. I brought my mom & sister out for their first time to Dumont! We arrived and Krusty & Danny already had the two turkeys cooking in the ground. We went for a couple buggy rides throughout the day. The dunes were pretty tracked out and rough at times, but not too bad. The good thing about those conditions is it's super easy to navigate a line. Lots of options without having to think. The camp was a decent crowd but the dunes seemed empty. Maybe everyone was either cooking or eating? My buggy did great. After servicing the shocks recently, it handled much better. Time to start playing with the shim stakcs to dial in the rear now that I know how to overhaul them. My sister and mom loved the buggy. I didn't know how they'd take to it. We had our Thanksgiving day feast with the crew around 3:00. As always, I ate way too much. The food was awesome and those turkeys came out amazing. After dinner, we went for a "pie run" instead of our usual cocktail run. We stopped by and picked up painterjoe and we went on a nice, mellow run through the dunes. Didn't want to shake up all that food too much. It was probably a good thing we headed right out. We all probably would have taken naps instead. lol We cruised over to vendor row and I stopped at GTP Offroad to say hi to Mike, Jodi and Adam. Then we went back to camp for some pie, loaded up and headed home to work. It was a great day. Semi-short but very memorable. As Lou B said...quality/ not quantity. I'm looking forward to a long weekend out there for the buggy run. Here's some pics. Loaded up and ready for Dumont! We arrived and saw some cones and smoke....caution- turkeys cooking below Getting unloaded North pole...many people parked around the pole and started at it. It was pretty intense action as usual out there. Top of comp I spotted jalper in his new prerunner build. Car looked and sounded badass! Mom's first buggy ride! selife at the top of comp with mom Classic in car GoPro. One of the first pics taken with my new Silver Hero 4. Priceless! Turkey feasting time
