  1. I went to the dealership yesterday to get the 1st service done on my truck(07 2500HD). Had oil and filter changed, also changed spin on filter for tranny. I new it would be more expensive than a gas engine truck, but when i went to pay it was $236 :angry22: I must of had a crazy look on my face as the cashier ask me if i wasn't expecting a bill like that. I said H3ll no.

    I know a few of the peeps here work at dealerships,or other shops. What do you charge or what have u paid for this service.

    most of all that was the trans service...

  2. Thanks!

    I got everything done and took it down to Outback for a dyno session. From what I hear (from Johns himself) is that he has the most stingy dyno around but anyway here are the numbers...

    Boost controller off: 6 psi = 195 whp (pump gas)

    Lo setting 15 psi : = 280 whp

    Hi setting 20 psi := 320 whp

    John estimated the hp at the crank to be somewhere around 480. With my last setting I had 209 whp so the sti block allowed me a 111 whp increase! I am very excited and would have tuned for more psi, but my injectors were getting close to 100% at the rev-limiter at 20.

    :thumb:

    just for less of a headache, i would replace all the hose clamps on your boost lines with t-clamps. much tighter fit and stronger

  3. i had 2 pressure vaccum breakers pop on me as well.... had my dads landscape company fix it... when the parts got picked up, the guy said that i got the last 2 and over 2000 have sold this week at the 1 location alone. and now they are on a 3 week backorder unless you wanna pay for shipping

  4. if you dont ever use the key, install a rear door handle (has no lock cylinder) and remove the lock rod from the door when getting the repair done. this will visually deter people. sombody tried this at the lake on my old truck. people have balls to do this stuff in the wide open daylight.

  5. I was at Adam's drivetrain the other day....they have a sign posted in the waiting area that states a Nevada law that a service shop cannot charge more than 20% or $40 over a written estimate (which ever is cheaper). Wouldn't that apply to that guy who got ripped off with that $4,800 lift kit?

    THE BOMB

    (currently rebuilding a bigger badder Bomb)

    thats what i said... but they were like blah blah blah blah....and my buddy was like screw it, jes gimme my damn truck back

  6. same place charges 150.00 for billet screws and there even cheaper at yamaha,,,dont figure,,that place is extremely gay to the mother fking wall!!!! the king is out!!!!!!!!!! :ahhhhh: :woo_hoo::woo_hoo::woo_hoo::drunk:

    my buddy got screwed there 2. he wanted his truck lifted and his friend knows the owner.... He gets a price of $4300 and puts 1k down. so I talk to Mike Smith (the guy who did my lift) and he tells me he can do it for about $3200 installed, aligned, and with fox shocks. My buddy goes back to get his deposit back and is told "sorry it is special ordered and its already on the way". he is mad as hell now and says screw it. so he drops his truck off to get the work done and i give him a ride to pick it up the next day. it is not done, so we hang out. we walk around and look at it on the lift...almost done. He gets called up to the counter and is told his truck is done and that he needs to pay the balance. so he says $3300 is the balance right. the response is "we had some unforseen stuff come up and its gonna be a little more." Ok how much? the total comes out to the tune of almost $4800 total. :headbang1: Then i say ok where does he need to take it for the alignment he paid for.... since they don't have an alignment rack. The answer .... its already aligned, we do it by lookin at it. :laughoff: I start laughing, but it is not really funny. All in all, he got screwed and over paid by like $1500. Not a happy customer., and the whole time the owner is askin me about my truck. Not cool. whatever happened to taking care of the customer?

  7. Reasons I got a shortbed...

    1. parking is easier especially with the big a$$ tires I have

    2. The only reason I would want a long bed is to pull a 5th wheel which I can't due being too high.

    3. I can fit my quad and all the fuel back there already. Sucks going up the ramp with the quad though!

    4. I like the look of the crewcab short bed better than a longbed.

    Don't get me wrong a longbed is very practical, just not for me.

    +1 I feel ya on all these, especially on on #2. but i wish i had a bigger fuel tank :(

  8. got_boost;

    Can you give me a little more info on the 1700sqft house? Location, etc. I may be looking to rent a house here shortly and wouldnt mind helping out a DDR member....

    Thanks

    it is located near st rose and eastern and is 4 years old ....lemme know if there is anything else ya need

  9. Yes...they have the corners that come off....but that doesn't get you to the hook ups at the switch. It looks like you should take the whole panel off in order to run the wire harness' properly. :xmas_grin:

    if you are talking about the window switches...they are not "popped on" like previous models. they are fastened from the inside with screws, i thinks. if you pry the switch panel, it will break and won't fit tight. pull the door panel and disconect harness connectors while holding the panel. B)

  10. I run VP Red, and the only place that I can find that stocks it on a regular basis is Haycock, does anyone have any other places?

    Also what is the life of the fuel, I have some in an unopened can and some is a race can, when does or did it go bad?

    as long as it is in a metal can and not in direct sunlight ... it has a long life. I just gave my dad part of a drum that i bought years ago...and it still burns just the same

  11. Yeah, I love the billet edition. It's really nice and clean looking. How does your 32 ft tow behind your vehicle? Do you have any problems with it???

    only problem i got...is when i load 150 gallons of water,30-40 gallons of gas, some bikes and my buggy, its kinda heavy :xmas_lipsrsealed: other than that, i love it and always get compliments whenever i take it out
