  1. Actually the stock exhaust on a DMax is 4".

I put the banks cat-back exhaust on my truck and there was little noise increase. I like mine. You might get a little more noise without the cat if you plan on taking it out.

Sound isn't bad at all. I thought it would be loud and not like it. Not the case. Mine has no cat stock. I would recommend it 100%. I can tell a performance gain IMHO. :fro:

  2. if im not mistakin you need to turbo it to hit that much power, but as a duner who needs it for big boys imo the raptor cant be beat. the smal guys can shread a 450 but they dont make enough suspension the yzf 450 squats to its knees when i sit on it lol  i have to raptors and there pretty neat ( i bought my wife a another 660r ) and if the 450s kick my a$$ its ok as long as i shred the preds

Which you wont :laughoff::slap: All I heard both my preds saying in the garage is "snack time" when the new one rolled up :beercheers:

  3. actually smoke is unburned fuel. I can drive all day with no smoke, or lug it (low rpm by upshifting early and lay into it. It dumps fuel based solely on the pedal, so if you mate it at 1500 rpm, it gets full fuel, and vola lots of smoke. The more boost, or really more air gets rid of smoke. By 2000 rpm it wont really smoke cause the boost goes past 40 around there.

    more fuel = higher egt

    More fuel= more smoke.

    more air = lower egt

    more air = less smoke

I got a new exhaust for Christmas. Going to put it on this week. Wouldn't mind a chip. Nothing crazy, simple "plug-n-play". No adjustments. Something simple.

  4. no chip at all. The last year of the 12 valve cummins was 98. Early 98 rams had the 12 v that is completely mechanical. The only electrical parts on the engine are the fuel on/off solinoid and the starter. You can actually convert the fuel solinoid to a cable very easily so the only electrical part is the starter. Mechanical injection, no glow plugs, I dont even run a manifld heater, it doesn t get that cold here. I dont even run a waist gate actually, My big turbo is an ht3b and its sized about perfect, Ido run a manifold blow off valve (water heater valve 12$) that is adjustable from 50 to 100, and I have it set at about 58. The turbo size is so close to perfect though that it climbs slow from 54 to 58 and it so far is ready for the next gear before it ever gets to the blow off, then falls to 50 or so and climbs back up then shift again. Its probably due to the stock exhuast manifold that isnt even ported, I d bet an ats or high tech turbo manifold would caus ethe boost to go higher.

I run a # 10 plate with 370 injectors witha 4000 gsk. Yes my cummins spins with no fuel cut to atleast around 4200 rpm. I ussually shift around 36-3700 when I need too.

Impressive. Can I adjust my boost :DDRrocks: to give Bob some black smoke?

  5. boost ofcourse...........my water /alky doesnt even come on till 25 or so. How else do you get a 5.9 inline 6 to make over 1000 ft lbs? It pulls a 50 ft enclosed....its 9600 lbs dead empty, ussually 23500 -25000 full of toys.

Ok. I thought someone said they got stuck in sand, then I hear 65psi. I thought....hummmm. Anyway, how do you adjust it? Chip only?

  6. i, for one, am glad to see something like this come along. too many times I have seen kids, under the age of 10, on an atv or motorcycle, with no parents around, doing things that they shouldn't be doing. I was at Hungry Valley OHRVA a year ago, and saw 2 kids riding 2 up on a 50, crash right into a toyhauler. the 50 was a pep-boys special. the parents, not much better, about 500 yds away, ripping into their second bottle of albertson's vodka, not watching a damn thing.

it is people like that that give our sport a black eye. As a parent, when my son is riding, he is all I am focusing on. I want to be able to pass this great sport of ours on to him, and teach him the ways of respect and responsibility. after all, with all the greenies after our riding area, and all the negativity we get in the press, we need future RESPONSIBLE riders to carry the torch. If the next generation of our sport isn't, our sport WILL disappear, imo

I agree. Regardless if it is a PepBoys or Honda quad the child knows no different. It is up to the parent to watch them. To many parents are more a friend than a parent these days. :DDRrocks:

  7. I would but, the reliabilty is better under 60. Some say 64 is safe, some say 70 psi is safe.....but Im still on the stock head bolts even, arp's are a stupid 449$ for the studs, so its gonna wait. The best part is the ability to smoke out people, tailgaters, dumbasses, they get it...a lot of it.

Are we talking about boost or tire pressure. I am lost. :laughoff:
