    Coroner case #06-9579TC - 06-9581TC -- On 12-10-06, at 6:02 PM, The San Bernardino Sheriff Department received several telephone calls from motorists on Interstate 15 reporting an explosion and fire on a hillside east of the interstate approximately two miles south of the Oak Hills exit in the Cajon Junction area (Near the top of the Cajon pass). The investigation revealed that a Mercy Air helicopter was flying back to the Victorville Airport (Mercy Air base) when it collided with the hillside. The personnel on board were identified as Pilot Paul LaTour, a 46 year-old resident of Apple Valley, Air Medic Jerald Miller, a 40 year-old resident of Apple Valley and Registered Nurse Katrina Kish, a 42 year-old resident of Yucaipa. All three were confirmed deceased at 6:27 PM. The National Transportation Safety Board, FAA, San Bernardino Sheriff Department as well as Mercy Air Aviation Personnel are investigating the incident. The Coroner Division will be conducting autopsies to determine the exact cause of death. [121106 1910 TC]

    They had just dropped a man off at Loma Linda Hospital who was involved in a motorcycle accident on Bear Valley Rd. in V.V. and was heading back to the airport. The fog was pretty thick and they flew into the side of the mountain.

    Another sad part to this story is that about 1 or 2yrs ago a Deputy Sheriff was killed and his wife became a widow. She remarried a year or so later to a PARAMEDIC, guess who was on that chopper. Yep, the poor woman who married men that save peoples lifes has now been made a widow twice. :(

    If you want a quick and reliable bike you should go with Rudy Curtz (port magic in hesperia) he did my lt500 and he always has great info, and wont try to sell you something, he gives you what you want, granted its going to work. and to top it off he does not over charge. on my banshee I have fmf fattys, a milled head .020 taken off and had the cases matched to the ports on the cylinder. its a rocket for the little amount I have spent. I beat guys with t-5s, cool heads, and porting. Dont waste your money on boost bottles or reed spacers, they are more for top end and make it harder to ride in the dunes.

    I have an Acura motor in my sandrail but I drive a gas guzzling 4X4 Dodge truck with a V10 to counter act the Honda Effect. :freakin_nuts:

    Like Randog mentioned earlier the motors that are used in these sandrails come from a salvage yard. I don't know of anybody going into a Honda dealership and buying a new crate motor for their sandrail.

    I'll even be a nice guy and not get on my soap box about the eco-terrorist and their crap. :DDRrocks:

    Just say the Dodge sucks and this way I can tell Bob I told you so... :laughing:

    This could be never ending. While I never got the impression anyone was fighting, the point was made and everyone is informed on what they could/should do on a purchase.

    I TOOK MY OLD WORN OUT 7 YEAR OLD BANSHEE AND stupid caps and while i couldnt quite get them off the line i smoked both preds on the mid and top end and my wifes raptor . banshees so rock !!! i have never even replaced the packing. in the pipes, i did put a k&n on it when i bought it . im pretty sure my my wifes rapturd is gonna kill the predaturd in a short run :flipoff:

    IMHO I can take both bikes he is talking about. When and "if" he ever gets the Craptor out of the service shop, we'll race. As for now the UN rules say I hold the title. :flipoff:

    its gonna take more than one person to do that. But, I have already called the local red dealership, as they are also the local Can-Am dealer too, and told them what they do. the a$$ man(ager) wasn't even aware of it.

    I didn't see this post. What did the manager say? Get a fax number and maybe we can fax bomb them on the subject.

    all you guys can do what you want...just don't b*tch to me in a few years, if you run red, and the SC is attempting to close down dumont..........that is all I'm saying

    What would you like to see done? Complaining on DDR will get nothing done. You need to either call them, write, etc. A few say they did call. :freakin_nuts:

    I see both sides. My older daughter owns a 400ex. I am not going to sell it just because of what is being said. Although, when it comes time to buy another, I will 100% use it to weight out my next purchase.

    If your really bothered by it, tell them your going down there next Sat. and put a sign on your SUV and state what they do. I am sure people will see it and ask you questions. This alone could make them withdrawl their sponsorship. :freakin_nuts:

    They are located in Victorville, Ca. on their way back from Loma Linda coming up the Cajon Pass the helicopter went down. All three died. My mom had to use them a month ago while out on her quad and was transported to Arrowhead Medical Center.

    My prayers are with these families during their loss. God speed! (insert prayer icon)

    Painting Plastics?

    Anyone know where I can get the plastics on my quad painted? I've tried looking for aftermarket plastics but am not having any luck, so I figured this would be the next step.

    I heard there is plastic paint, then others have said its all in the prep work. Not sure if that helps.
