  1. Pete.............sorry to say, but as of now I won't make it to this prestigious event this year. :lol: The race car I work on as well as spot for is scheduled to race at Irwindale Speedway on Jan. 29th and 30th. Televised live on SPEED both nights. Our car is coming along, and it appears as if we will make the race. But if anything happens (i.e. no money, or car doesn't get done) I will let you know and will alter plans to be there.

    Have fun and safe............. :laughoff::idea::thumb:

  2. Well folks and good peeps of DDR, I've been laying low for the better part of a year now due to the fact that my wife and myself recently had a baby boy, or a new duner as I like to call him. :headspin: :headbang1: I haven't seen the sand since Feb. at the 70cc regatta and I am jonesin' for some sand, as well as to see how my new engine does. I only have about an hour on it and would like to get more. Our next trip to the wonderful D is planned for Feb. the weekend after Pres. Day. (but that could change between now and then) Anyway, my sons name is Lucas. He came into this world on Nov. 9th at 7:42 in the a.m., he was 21 inches long, and he was an even 8 pounder......... :booty::yiah: :B So hopefully, I'll be able to enjoy the Dumont air and have a drink with you good peeps real soon!!!! :headbang1::headbang1::beercheers: :headspin:

    Well peeps, here I am!!!! :headbang1::booty:

    Keep up the good duning peeps!!!! :mc::usa::whoop::ynot::randog:

    Thanks for allowing me to be a proud dad for just a minute..... :dope:

  3. I cannot get into the details of the past but Don and Ellen created a lot of their own problems. There were incidents in the past and apparently the last one broke the camels back so to say. Will we as users of Dumont be hurt by this? Yes maybe for awhile till they are replaced or we just get used to someone not being there as it always has been in the past.

    The interaction of the Blm with Don and Ellen was better than they say and it was a sad thing to see them use one side of BLM against the other. I am not defending BLM but any employer has to do what they have to do. Wether you want to call them volunteers or not they were BLM employees and have to abide by the rules set down by that enity. I to am sorry to see them go but sometimes change is good. We will wait and see.

    I realize that rules are rules. But I also do realize that when rules are bent for the better good for everybody, sometimes is better than following the letter of the rule book. I'm not asking for details, and maybe they did create some issues for themselves, but they will be missed. They are good people who cared about Dumont and the people who traveled there. I wish them the best, and hope to see them again in some capacity at Dumont next season.

    :B :MBdance: :hungry:

  4. It was a good time!! :kitty: I was just there for an overnight run, but had a good time watching it all happen. Here are some of my observations from my short time there........

    Watching big boys play on little kid toys is very entertaining to say the least!! :atc:

    Chris and Bert are the wheelie kings on 3 and 4 wheelers!!

    Having met the majority of you for the 1st time, everyone was really cool peeps!! :lol:

    Big Al makes BBQ to write home about!!!! Thanks Al, it was good eatin'!!! :think::lol::thumb:

    Cole definitely has a 2nd career as an announcer!!! :clap:

    Thanks to NE14SAND, Big Al, and Pete for the hospitality, as well as anyone else I met this weekend!!! All of you ROCK!!

    The only pic I took was of Pete during practice on his 70 and it was with my phone.............

    Can't wait for the next one!!! :lol: :dance: :think:

  5. Mike, part of the reason we are having this regatta is to get everyone from DDR together. Like mineurbiz said- it's one big camp bud! :headbang1: Just pull up and park mang. :headbang1:

    cool cool, let's hope we can at least make it work and half azz stick to it :rockwoot::clap:

    :headbang1: you know it

    Oh ok, I'll do that. :headbang1: I'll see-ya Friday afternoon then............... :laughing::beerpint::MBdance:

  6. As it turns out, I'm rolling out solo in my truck on Friday. I will help setup where I can, but at the same time, I'm there to break-in my new engine. So I hope there will be some peeps there to dune with at least once or twice Friday afternoon. (just a cruiser dune ride though. I need to be easy before I really get on it)

    I should be there in the earlt afternoon on Friday and staying until Saturday evening. I'll be in a biege GMC longbed with an open trailer and a 4 seater on that. See-Ya Friday!

  7. So when is everyone getting there??? I plan on rolling into Dumont Thursday mid-day. Pete, I have a stop watch for the drags if you want. I can also be the official timer guy if you want. In all the years I've done timing for the race cars I've worked on, I've never been worse than .02 seconds off any timing light at any race track. Just let me know if you want it, or if is just a who crosses the line first.

    :laughing: :B :lol::70:

  9. Well as I said in a previous post, my motor broke after being off the trailer for a mere 10 minutes. Well I went to my engine builders place today and this is what we found.........................

    post-17-1228602177_thumb.jpg

    Well as it turns out, the valve top broke right off the stem and then went thru my piston as you can see. It also twisted the rod a tad and bent both push-rods under this cylinder........... :dunno: :no_no:

    But we'll get her fixed and be back out sooner or later. I hoping for the end of January...... :praying: But money and how busy he is will determine that.

    Anyways, I'm just bored and thought I would share.................Merry Christmas everybody!!!!!

  10. It says a 30% chance of showers, which by my fuzzy math also means a 70% chance of NO showers!!!! Just some dang clouds. But anyway you look at it, a weekend at Dumont (good or bad) is better than any day at work baby!!!!! :B :shake::headbang1: :fro_smokin: :driver:

  11. 20 bucks for the first hand and 10 bucks for every hand after that or 5 for 50 was the way it was setup and was marked at the registration booth. Maybe someone at the registration booth got confused??

    Thanks for clearing that up. I did not see that at the registration booth and niether did my friends. :beercheers: Next year I will know.

  12. My only opinion on this is set a firm price for the hands. My group and I thought it was $20 per hand. We came to find out that people were getting 3 or 4 hands for under $60. I may be blind, but I did not see anywhere other prices for multiple hands.

    It was a gfood turn-out and a good time though!!!!!!

    :moon: :fro_smokin: :beercheers::laughoff::usa:
