Hey Mike,

I've had DN for 3 years out in the dunes.

I always had to run "Check Switch" every time I move the box from house dish to RV dish. PIA

I obviously set it up a few times out in Dumont.

Sometimes it could take me up to 45minutes to get it setup. total hit and miss. never knew why.

And I've got all the tools, a compass, satellite finder, park in same place and all that chit.

So, recently I switched to Direct. Seems a lot easier now.

Takes like 2-7 minutes depending if I have to get another beer or not.

Good luck with it, but I'd say when your contract is over, go back to Direct. :no_no:

Thanks bud!!! I talked with a service guy and he gave me a few pointers. But in the end he basically said that once I find one satellite, just to move the dish ever-so-slightly to find the other with better signal strength. I'll be out there the weekend before Halloween and give it another shot. I'll get back to you on how it goes............

It's looking like my little group and I are going out from the 23rd - 26th. I swore off holiday weekends 3 years ago, and I'm loving it........ :fro_smokin: :moon: Anyway, we'll be at the south pole at around 2 pm on Saturday the 25th if anyone wants to hang out and go for a little dune ride.

For those of you that have dishnetwork, I was wondering if there was a trick to finding both satellites (110 and 119)? I recently went to DN from DTV because of a deal I got. I'm happy with DN, just the last time I went camping which was the first time with DN, I could only find satellite 119 and had a hard time getting sat. 110 with anything more than 20% signal strength.

Any advice would be appreciated.......... :B

WOW.........I've never seen this board get this political. I must say that I'm impressed.

My view on it is that we must become more dependant on domestic oil in order to put the gas prices in check. A soon as we actually start more drilling for our own oil, prices will drop after the middle-east sees that we don't need them as much. I say let's get more oil from our own natural resources instead of depending on foriegn oil.............

There is an online petition and it's called "Drill here, Drill now, and save money". Look it up and sign it........I already did!!

First I thought it was going to be a 2 hr. show, but once again my Direct Tv program guide was lieing to me. :mischevious: Anyway, just got done watching the show and my personal opinion is I am so glad I stopped going on holiday weekends. The wife and I used to go on all the big weekends and now all I see is idiots doing idiotic things. Maybe we are just getting old now, but it was fun when we did it, although we never did anything stoopid enough to get busted or crash. I now have a whole new level of respect for what the Rangers and the Sheriffs have to deal with out there on any given holiday weekend.

Just wondering how often you guys check your tires. Either on your RV or trailer. Is it just before every trip?? Is it during the drive at stops you make? I've had two blowouts in the past year coming from Dumont and was just wondering.

Well since I'm currently out of work on an OJI, I get to spend some quality time with my daughter and my wife. I take my daughter to the park to play, we go out to lunch, then have an ice cream. Strawberry and sprinkles are her favorite. When not doing that, I'm staring at my car in the garage waiting for my last trip of the season which is next weekend to Glamis. Shortly, I will pull the boat out, clean her up, and go play in the water!!!!

This is what teases me all summer long until October....................
