I know alot of us do summer mods, sell and buy new toys, and even switch up our entire setup. So what's everyone plan for next season? Post up what's new to you.

No new toys for us. We'll still be rocking the same truck, trailer, and buggy.

I know for us, especially since we've built our Sprinter van, I learned a lot in the meantime about batteries and charging systems. I plan on adding some solar and a couple more batteries to the toyhauler. No more dead batteries after a long night of running the heater! A little Honda generator is probably at the top of our list too. Been meaning to buy one for years.

The ole 05 Dmax is almost a classic at this point. but it still pulls hard and drives like a new truck. The only thing it needs is maybe some new shocks and it's good to go. :driver:

As for the buggy, I say it every season, but I'm adding power steering this year damn it. I really want to get this done this fall. I'd also like to get the suspension recharged and dialed in some more. If anyone has a tuning guy please send me their info. But other than that, I just want to get back out there and do the same thing I have been doing for years- chillen with friends and shredding some smooth sand. It's been a long, nasty summer so far and I can't wait for some cool weather.

Electric Power steering is so nice. Can't believe I drove my car for about 8 years without it.

  2. I am venturing out into the photo booth world to go along with my regular photography. This booth is nothing like I have seen before and it is really cool and fun. So far it has been a big hit at the 2 parties I have taken it to.

I need to get a website and some business cards made. But I cant think of a clever name. So I am offering up a cool thank you package with things from my work to the one that comes up with a cool name and that hasn't already been taken.

Here is a link so you can see what this booth does--

    Thanks

    Tim

  3. Transmission is out getting redone, new ring and pinion as well as 3rd and 4th. Trying to get the ratios better to get out of my usual 2nd and 3rd gear dune rides. Clutch is at Kennedy to check all the components and fix a couple bad teeth on the ring gear. Car and trailer are an absolute mess right now. But hey- I have only been lagging on this for 6+ months right?

  4. I am with the Border Patrol team. I think leg 2 starts right at the entrance to Dumont. We should be in that area around 10ish.  Last year I wanted to take our suburban out to the dunes but we need to follow the runner! Hope the weather isn't too hot.

  5. I hope you marked where those came out. That way you can put them back the same way. If not your going to have one side with more pressure than the other side. The torsion bars hopefully stayed in so that is half the battle. Just make sure both sides go on at the same angle and you should be ok.

  6. Another great weekend. Plenty of new people to meet and a lot of familiar faces too. Thanks to Pete and Anna for doing what it takes to keep DDR up and running allowing us all to get together for trips like this. I am sure its not said enough but we all appreciate it.

Had a blast running around with all the buggies/bikes/can-ams and everything else that joined in. I stayed to the rear just to enjoy the view of all the cars in a LONG-ASS line. It was cool to see us stretch out 4 to 5 bowls as we weaved around Dumont.  I have some great videos from my drone, Pete has them and I am sure he will make a sweet video of it all pretty soon.

Sandy was pretty relaxed this weekend but she still got around and managed to make it home. Well, after Pete hauled butt in his rail to find me while I was leaving to get her back to me. The Carne/Chicken meal was the highlight topped off with some great fights. Carrie and myself kept on cooking till it was all gone and manage to stuff our faces while doing it.

I didn't take many pictures as we duned, but here is what I got around camp and the final sunset of the trip. The circles are steel wool in a wisk and spun around while taking a long exposure picture. Me,Pete,Anna and Steve were laughing our butts off while taking these.J52A0404.JPG

  7. Let me introduce to you those that have not met this little ball of trouble. Her name is Sandy. She loves Dunebuggy Round Ups. This will be her 3rd year attending this event. She has made a lot of effort to make these events.  Let me explain this--

She jumped the US/Mexico Border to start.

    1.jpg

She crawled low trying to avoid being caught by the Border Patrol.

    2.jpg

She hid in the brush for hours waiting for the "Man" to fall asleep so she could make a run for it.

As you can see, It didn't work.

So she stole a vehicle and made a run for it

Upon arrival at Dumont. She quickly made new friends.

    She even likes dogs.

She found out that Rails are pretty fun.

Unfortunately, she has a weakness for the alcohol.

So, if you happen to see this little red devil this weekend, don't be shy. Come say hello and take her for a journey. Just be sure to take plenty of pictures along the way. She is kid friendly but as an Elf she is more geared to the older folks for entertainment. She has been know to frequent the camp fires a lot!! Please do all you can to make sure she finds her way home at the end of the trip. I am kinda responsible for her safekeeping.
