  1. My next rant is the rangers.

We always have helmets, flags, etc.I went to them and asked if there was anything we could do for them to overlook the headlights and tail lights issue. They are not needed in the daytime hours but even if the hill is as bright as daylight they can not overlook the issue.

They were not going to bother the flag issue. They then said if we would put any light and something red on the back they would not bother us.I put a little flashlight in the front and back with red cloth on it and they never bothered us.

I know they were there to make sure everyone paid to get in and to keep us all safe.

I don't think the little light I put on the front made me any safer than before. If they are there to make the place safe for all of us then why did they write a ticket and then leave and come back in a hour and write another one and leave again.I think they were writing a ticket or two to look like they were doing their job.

If you were one of the unlucky ones, sorry.

Hell maybe they could of helped me when I was stuck for 2 hours.

    This is called complaining????

When I was told we needed lights I rigged up lights.

I have been on here since 05 so I know someone when I see them in the dunes.

I was wrong to point fingers at someone because no one breaks rules on here.

I am thinking about selling the awful banshees so I won't be the only rule breaker on here.

I have insurance if someone wants to steal them so I could buy nicer 4 strokes.LOL

Last week the BLM was terrible for enforcing the rules about pulling someone out and for the record I agree the rule should of been overlooked.

It also was a safety rule.

Capt and friends I am sorry for even thinking and COMPLANING that the rangers could of overlooked the light rule and yes they should of impounded my banshees for even thinking different than you guys.

  2. i have found in the past that a person attitude when they get stop by any leo will determin if they gonna get a ticket or not just my two cents

Not to drag Dunefreak into this but are you saying that when he received his ticket it was because of his attitude.

Sometimes the rangers will have a attitude.

    Sorry Pete.lol

  3. I think ANYONE racing at night whether the hill is lit up or not needs some sort of lighting Period...Like he said not so you can see but so people can see you.I almost got hit by an all black YFZ a couple years ago and the hill was lit up as well.Get helmet HID's if you dont want them on your quad and a couple glow sticks on the grab bar.All its going to take is one serious accident and it will all be over for the night drags. SO instead of bitching about the rules just follow them.

I did follow the rules.I will have some kind of lights next time.

I had no problem giving everybody a ticket if they broke the law.Flags, trash, lights, etc

They should not pick and choose on who they are giving tickets to.

I know some of the people who received tickets and they are very respectable people but they do own banshees.

I still say if you think it is unsafe to go up the hill under the lights then a little flashlight will not make it safe.

  4. I watched the fast bike on the far right side of the Hill and they disappeared in the dark at the top when they turned around. You can do 80 mph up the hil or 20 mph up the hill.. it doesnt matter.. Think of it this way...25 mph up the hill and another guy is going 15 mph down( we know they go faster but this is for arguements sake) that is a40 mph crash with to massive metal pieces smashing into each other and that can turn into a mess for both riders. Now we know that everyone goes faster than I stated and the carnage inflicted on both parties is devastating. I have seen crashes in broad DAYLIGHT!! No lights needed!!! jsut ppl not paying attention or whatever. Think about it and stop your complaining. Pay your Ticket and like stated above and ... LEARN!!

AS much as you are complaining it sounds like the Ranger had his hands full. Lucky he didnt impound your bike and really teach you how to really obey the rules..

Rangers are human also and they will be just like you... sometimes they get pissed off over stupid stuff and sometimes the same stuff is not as big of a deal..

    Capt

    WE NEVER RECEIVED ANY TICKET!!!!!!!!

WE PUT LIGHTS ON SO WE WOULD BE LEGAL!!!!!

Some of you people really amaze me.

I have picked up trash that some of you have left in the dunes and everyone on here acts like they never do anything wrong.Angels I guess.

I think I can have a opinion without people saying I am complaining to much.

I had no problems talking with the rangers. I am not as smart as some of you but I am smart enough to treat someone with respect.

Capt I think I follow the rules more than you do I have seen you at the dunes.

  5. I am amazed on how peeps complain about leos hassling them for not having whips or lights..... what was this there first trip to the dunes......get a whip and lights and look no tickets :beat: just saying :beat:

The hill was lit up so there was no need for lights. My point to all of this is how stupid it is to make someone put a flashlight on the bike to make it safe.

Our bikes would never go 80+mph up the hill if we could not see.I am a little smarter than that. :2cents:

The ticket issue was that they give warnings to some and give tickets to others. If they had to do their jobs and keep everyone safe then do it 100%

  6. I agree with you and barefoot bob...Anyone that has been to the dunes knows you need lights at night and a flag. The 55 gallon drums for trash is a great idea hopefully if that happened there wouldnt be 55 gallon drums left behind full of trash, lol

One of the reasons the lights are there is so people can see without lights.

My point was that putting a 3 inch flashlight would not help anyone to see and it made the bike legal.

I put lights on ours and we were legal.

  7. Just calling like everyone including yourself sees it.

You can ask anyone that knows me....I am not racist at all.

WHY....WHY...WHY cant this sh*t stop???? This is all I have to say. I'm done.

I don't see it that way.

Like Dunefreak said we all have to pick up after the pigs that are on all the forums.

I am glad that I am not :beat: or :flatbiller: or :B that way I can't be blamed for anything. :beat:

  8. Wingy your post I missed earlier.. I must have posted in between yours.

The trash was ridiculous and the LACK OF RESPECT IS FKING RETARDED!!! It is total BS that these friggin JERKS come out and Party it up and leave a pile of SH!T for others to clean up.. When I came over the Dunes and seen all that trash.... I was like WTF.. to my wife. So we pulled the RZR over and started loading it up.. I couldnt get all of it but FOR GODS SAKE YOU BASTARDS... PICK UP YOUR TRASH!!!!

Now if you linked this event on any other forum I feel it is your DUTY to post pics and show what was done out there.. It was down right RUDE!!... Rangers should have driven through the parking areas and ahnded out tickets for littering is what I think they should have done..

I am Appalled that anyone (especially duners) could leave a place in such a mess... Friggin flat billers with Banshees. This has always been 1 of my favorite summer time event and I am irritated at this mess.

Like it was said earlier... All my trash is put into the bed of my truck and taken out before we leave Dumont.. How hard is it to put it in a trash bag???

Maybe its time we start taking pictures of all the camps and all the ppl parked at the hill so we can start comparing the areas after the fact to see if they clean up after themselves..Before and after pics. I pile of trash left was in the area to the left (facing banshee hill) were the flat bed had 1 of the lights sitting on it.. That trailer was parked kinda off to the side and it wasnt hard to spot that there trash was left behind..

    Capt

I agree about the trash. What I don't understand is all of us on these forums say we pick up more than we bring and the place is still trashed.I have banshees but I don't wear a hat so I know your not blaming us.The lights you are talking about was not ours.I think the rangers should write tickets all night long for trashing the place instead of making me put a 3 inch flash light on my banshee.

For the record we picked up all of our trash. If it is the hillshooters that trash the place there must be alot of us because the flats are a mess to.

Thanks for the effort but we don't need anymore.

Welcome, the DDR needs people like you

    Thanks

  10. i was pulled over.....and they let me go with a warning for no lights.

    Warnings??

Must of been speed involved because the drag banshees got tickets and were told that the bikes would be impounded if caught again.

If your going to be a :headbang1: Do your job and write everyone a ticket not just a select group so your boss thinks you were doing your job.

  11. I remember pulling this truck out ! If I had know you guys needed more help with the lights I would have went back and helped ! anyway thanks to everyone who got the lights out there and set up !

    Thanks again you were great.

  14. I have to hand it to las vegas duner and undertow on how they kept there cool!!!! if i was in there situation i would strait up left!!!!!!! very few trucks tried to stop and help!!!!! it took almost two hours to get those lights unstuck and to the hill!!!! but in the end the result was good, just not pretty!!!!! i must say there bigger men than me and definitely true to the sport!!!!! thanks again

You were there the whole time helping us.Thanks again you could of give up and left to.

  15. Hat's off to you guys. Thanks for bringing them out. :headbang1: The lights always make the night drags what they are. :headbang1:

I saw you guys stuck and was gonna pull up to help, but saw you already had it handled. That stuff was soft. It claimed a handful of trucks and broke some people's rides. :(

My point to all this :laughoff:

Even with the help we had we needed more.

  16. My next rant is the rangers.

Hell maybe they could of helped me when I was stuck for 2 hours.

  17. I got lucky enough to haul the lights out. :headbang1: I got there at 6 pm and helped push everyone that was stuck out.I then tried to make it myself and got stuck. We then had to unload the lights and try to get them across one by one.I am really sorry I never got them set up until after 8pm.

I want to thank the guys that helped us get them to the hill and get them set up.You guys were great. The ones that I helped get out and the people that enjoyed the lights thanks too for helping.

The good thing about going to Dumont we always help each other out. :?:

I don't know everyone that helped but thanks again and the guy who was helping pull everyone out from Illinois you were great.

NEXT TIME I GET A CHANCE TO BRING LIGHTS. :headbang1:

He set up a system for house and garage, motion detectors in MH and trailer.

    Outside siren .

I use a cheap system from Harbor Freight at the dunes.

It has motion detector and runs on battery.
