  1. :beercheers: Thanks for all the input - you can look at those coverage maps until your blue in the face, but getting a good survey from the DDR Peeps always works the best for most things like this - so we signed up for Verizon today, got their family plan 1400, plus the Air-Card, and my company gets 22% discount with them so it all worked out well. They just announced as of Sunday the 15th, that if your on a 1400 min plan, you can also add 10 phone numbers for peeps with any service and that all calls to / from them are unlimited and free also....

Thanks again to all the DDR Peeps for the updates.

  2. Old School Style - So your not part of it, get your buddies to wait for his little A$$, and use baseball bats just on his knees and fingers, garanteed, less than 3 min of time, no knees, or hands for 8-12 weeks, will give him the lesson taught back in the days when you got caught with sticky fingers - especially around vegas..... :beercheers:
  3. :censored: Ok boy and girls, I'm dropping Sprint Cell Service for a mulitude of reasons but mainly because they are more expensive and their service sucks in the Lake Mead Rec Area on the lake and they at best spotty at the Big D. I've had problems with them while riding the back areas near searchlight and into and around Bullhead at Lake Mojave. So, I do spend alot of time traveling the USA, and International, but 60% of my travel is between here in Vegas and the LA area. Just looking for some input on remotes locations and our local Sand Box at Dumont and up North in Utah as well.

  4. We just got back this afternoon. It was a killer weekend out there. PERFECT weather, SMOOTH dunes and great lines. ISBB & I met up w/ Chris1223 and Chadwick99 at the gas station Sat AM. We rolled into D about 10am and pulled up w/ Vegas Style.

It started out as a day trip for us, but we decided to take the hauler and make a weekend out of it instead. I'm really glad we did too. It was a very cheap, simple, chill weekend out there. We got many rides in on Saturday. It was Chadwick's first time out to Dumont and he loved it. Pretty cool to see someone experience Dumont for the first time. Makes me remember my first trip. :headbang1: Good times Chad and nice meeting you. We'll help you out again next trip on learning those razors and transitions.:thumb:

Saturday's rides were great. The sand was perfect. On our last ride that day ISBB's waterpump seal started leakin when we got out to the north pole. :dope: He let it cool down and then filled it back up w/ some water and limped it back along the back stretch. On the way back we noticed a buggy broken down. The guy seemed like he was just waitin for help so we kept on. Then....about a mile later we saw some dude walking with a walkie takie, I stopped and asked him if he needed a ride. He was like "hell yeah dude thanks!" Get this....ends up we knew each other! I met him (Gary) exactly a year ago this weekend. He was the guy who had this interesting lil China buggy thing out at the north pole LAST SUPERBOWL weekend! Small world...crazy huh? So we cruised back to our camp and we grabbed my other Raptor to go to his camp for supplies. (Little Dumont) His alternator was the issue on the buggy so we grabbed a new battery, jump box etc and put it in his buddy's busa Rhino. :rockwoot: We cruised back to big Dumont to our camp and they proceeded from there and had it handled. Nice group of peeps and we plan on meeting up Prez weekend for some buggy runs. He has a bitchen dual sport car.

Sat night was very nice and chill. We had a great fire going that was super relaxing. I even got some time on the 70 and made a fun lil circle track around the fire. :headbang1: We met Brian (sandfreak33) and his buddies from Barstow and hung out for a bit. :beerpint: We also saw and chatted with Sandpirates early in the day but couldn't find where the heck he was camped later that night when we cruised over. :dunno::laughing:

Sunday (today) we slept in which was much needed for me as I've been doin a ton of chit latley. We missed out on the AM ride with Brian and group, but we'll hook up next time guys. Great meeting you. :banghead:

ISBB, Vegas Style and I got a nice long ride in late morning. Then towards the end of the ride my other Raptor (that Nick was riding) busted a chain. Luckily we weren't too far from camp. I was able to pull him back. So at this point since we were out of running bikes we finished up the beer oin the cooler  then split this afternoon around 1- 1:30.

It was 73 degrees leaving today...absolutley gorgeous. Yesterday was almost a tad warm...over 80 degrees!

Killer trip! Glad we did this one. Nice meeting all the new faces this weekend and great hanging out with the homies. :B

I took some pics. Will post some up later.

:old::old: Pete I think your just getting to "OLD" and your eye sight is obstructed with :drunk: and :70::beerpint: . Yeah we put in an extra case of beer and was waiting for you guys for Superbowl....great times, Cold Beers and Shots, sorry you could not find us for sure.

Ron over at Loose Screw had the socket I was looking for, turned out to be a 7/32 not metric......anyway, sorry we didnt get to hook up more, but maybe next time. Good seeing Nick and meeting Vegas Style and Chris and Chad as well. Getting ready to hit the dunes going to the North Pole this morning and then maybe the south pole - Depends on if we can find them without getting lost, you know how us "OLD" guys are.... :idiot:

  5. :blah:

    anyways...

So Mike. Will you be in your usual spot this weekend? I'll be sure to swing by. You gonna have that full size bigscreen in your hauler like last year? :blah::blah::blah:

    Hey Pete,

We'll be the usual spot, maybe a little further to the east, and it looks like we'll be on our own this year, all the rest of the crew is down for repairs....and I just put a new 26" Plasma in the front, so we'll be doing the game on a smaller scale, but still in "HD". Come on by and have a beer.

  6. X3 I do agree everybody needs to cut back.

Private business is getting harder than 6% I guarantee you!

X4 - As I manage a fairly large team, I went through a 4 hour meeting on Monday with my senior executives and now must let 19 people go this coming Friday. These people are not bad performers, and most of them have been with the company for 10 years plus, but I'll bet each one of them on Friday would have taken a 20% pay cut as opposed to not having a job. I've got friends over at Techicolor in Burbank that just let 85 people go last week, and plans are to cut another 50, so any job at this point is better than nothing.

  7. :old: So Jason, we know now what you had for Thanksgiving....a little of this :beerpint: some of that :hungry: and before you know it, :drunk: both of yeah are  and then :porn: and now  congrats my friend......

  8. :hello: Dave - unreal, I can't believe somebody would have done this. As mentioned earlier, it's likely somebody who travels your neighborhood and knows your comings and goings. I've posted your trailer and car PICs with my buddies at the Lake Mead National Park Service, so anyone trying to test drive in the Recreational Area and seen will get nailed. Hope you guys get your trailer and car back soon.

  9. :beerpint: Yep, I've got the 800 Outlander Max XT and it's about as heavy as they come...and with the stock tires aired down a little, it goes up Comp and any other hill at the "D".

Geezzz, Paddles and 4 wheel drive would turn me into a sand plow.....

Like everyone has already said, Super Bowl is typically excellent out there, except for last year, it was like Sand Storm of the Century.....60mph plus winds.

    SP2 Mike

  10. Finally got out for a meet and greet and caught up with Randog, White Rhino and Woody. Good to meet you guys. Thanks Pete for the intro's, and for pointing out Paul's Rhino so I could drop the beer in his front seat.

Hope to make it out again real soon and to meet more of the DDR peeps....

We didnt get there until Friday morning, but setup and hit the sand, second ride out, one of our guys from the Navy on his bike ran off a razor, and landed in the backside flat, put himself into the bars pretty hard. Looks like broken nose, collar bone and some really bruised ribs...left his chest protector at camp....bet he wont do that again....ouch.

Only saw the one life flight go out Friday evening, so I guess in that respect the weekend was quite. Seemed extremely quite at night and about half the normal crowd...

Didnt make it over to White Rhino's to check out his new rig, but we went by it several times....nice hardware for sure, I'll have to get a rain check on the cold beer....and tour later.

The guy flying in the parasail came over the camp about 15 feet above the trailers too many times, couple more Teq shots and he might have been mistaken for a giant fly for our 12 gauge fly swatter. :dunno: ...dont mind the flying but not so close to the kids and rigs, like all things it can stall......anyway it was cool to watch him over the dunes.

Forgot the camera :finger: so no pics this trip.

I'm looking to put up the wifes Can-Am Outlander Max XT 4x4 (2006) for sale as she wants a Rhino, so looks like I'll be in the market once we sell this one.

  11. :finger::laughing::dunno::clap::lol::lol::thumb: These are in your future dude - I do mine every 20K and the set will cost you about $120, plus about an hour of your time. The one on top (super easy) the one under the drivers door.....what a Pain, but prepare to get fuel all over you.....but it beats the dealer costs of over $250 to change it. I use a modified oil filter wrench for the bottom one, and it takes about 20 minutes.

  12. I was so waiting for this comment from one of you senior citizens. :assblast::laughoff:

Like everything else, some things are fun while they last and then get old after while is all. It's not really the loud camps that I don't like anymore- it's the type of people that seem to come out of nowhere and hang out a little too long when that stuff is going on. "Who the hell is that guy?" "I don't know :rockwoot: .... :shout: ...Fuggin get outta here!!!":rockwoot:

Yep, I remember those party till 4am days.......now its "Shut the hell up" I'm trying to sleep after 1am...... :rockwoot::flipoff:
