  2. I have a 1997 yamaha banshee that I am looking to trade for a utility 4X4 quad. I don't get to the dunes as much as I use to so the utility quad I can use at the house. The banshee has FMF pipes and silencers, Vforce reeds. Hinson clutch, twist throttle, fulbore plastics ect. I have a set of rear paddle tires that will go with it also. Utility quad needs to be 4X4 and 400cc or more. Thanks. PM me if interested and I will send you pictures.

  7. Events like these make the family trips to dumont better and better each year. The kids love watching these along with the banshee/four stroke races on this weekend.
  8. Is the Jeep Jamboree going to be out there that weekend also? It was a kick in the A$$ last year to watch all of the action.

  12. This may be our first trip to Dumont on Halloween. I have a question, is it kid friendly out there that weekend? I hear that the pits allow trick or treating, but what about comp hill? I heard that it is no place for the young one's out there at night. if you know what I mean! Any info would be great, and thanks. Griz
  13. You should have kept the can of paint, I'm sure there is somebody in the law enforcement community that loves going to Dumont as much as the rest of us. Maybe they could pull some strings and have it finger printed. I would think a dirt bag that has done something like that before sould be in the system. Just my 2 cents. Glad to hear everyone had a good time. Griz
  14. As the first post states I too am wondering what happened to the sand car that was tipped on it side on the big dune. It was on the big dune up from bathroom 7. I think it was a silver sand car. It looked like he was on his way down the hill and just turned on it side. I think this was the one in question from the first post. Glad to hear Danny is doing better. My uncle that got medivaced out last sat is out of ICU and at home today. He is banged up but at least he is home. Couple of months he will be ready to go again he says.. Griz
  15. Where in the world do they hold those races at. King of the Hammers looks like a great spectater sport. :ahhhhh:
  16. Was your uncle Mike? If it is I work for the same company. I work out of Orange I heard about it from buddy that knows him that lives in Vegas hope he is doing better. No his name is Gary. He is still in ICU in Vegas. Thanks for asking. Griz
  17. Well I guess you can add my uncle from Lancaster CA, to the list of injuries during the weekend. He was riding his utility quad near the north pole and hit a sand bump that was built up around a bush. It kicked him up and over then the quad landed on top of him. The rangers were great, they brought his quad back to camp and let us know what they were going to do with him. They sent him by ambulance to Phrump, there the doctors at the Hospital said there was nothing they could do for him. From there they ended up medivacing him to UMC in Vegas. Thas was Sat AM and he is still there in the ICU today. He ended up with 7 shattered ribs,(5 with multiple brakes), a hematoma on his kidney, some internal bleeding from something ( we havent heard of what yet ), cracked shoulder and thought he had a punchered spleen. This just goes to show you that you dont have to be hauling a$$ to get hurt out there. It was a very humbling experience for the rest of our camp. I have plans to head to Vegas this weekend if he is not out of the hospital by then. My prayers are with all that were injured out there this weekend and hope everyone has a speedy recovery. Griz
  18. Thanks everyone this helps out alot. Hope to meet you guys at the meet and greet!!
  19. Can I buy a weekend pass at the Velro gas station in Baker, or do I have to get it at the enterance to the dunes? It has been a long time since I have been out there and I'm sure things have changed. Thanks and hope to meet new peeps at the meet and greet on Sat @2pm.
  20. I will be there with a group of 7. Is there going to be a meet and greet at one of the poles?
  21. Is this weather getting close to nasty? I don't think the weather will be bad during the weekend (as per the weather on the home page here at DDR). I just worry about my 36ft motorhome and 22ft trailer slipping all over the road tring to get into the dunes, and the little uphill just as you get the the rangers area. Thanks everyone for your input. Griz
  22. Not the answer I was looking for but the truth all in all.
  23. Are the pay as you go the same as a trac phone? They are cheap enough if so. Not a bad idea to keep one around just in case of injuries. Thanks for all the replies. Griz
  24. I have had plans on going to Dumont this upcomming weekend, however with all the rain in the forcast I am a little nervous about the road in. Does it flood out or turn into slippery snott? how are the dunes after the rain? Sounds like perfect riding weather!! Thanks for the input. Griz
