  1. The new job thru a company picnic a month or so ago. BBQ, Sno cones, rides, and attractions. It was impressive!

At the end, when everyone was leaving, these guys gave my little guy an e ticket ride. He's not gonna forget this anytime soon :headbang1:

  2. Andy you could just drive up to Boulder City and watch the show at Veterans Memorial Park. They put on an amazing show every year.

Veterans Park in Boulder City has a huge fireworks show every 4th. Definitely worth checking out, hard to see from the lake.

Sounds good. Watching on the water would've been a cool way to end the day, but I'm not familiar with the area, so I thought I'd ask. Veterans park it is, for Fireworks and Toby Keith songs :redneck::stirthepot:

  3. Very sad; but unless toxicology reports indicate otherwise, an accident is just that, an accident.

No manufacturer is to blame. The state doesn't need a $1,000,000 safety sign campaign(that prolly wouldn't help), or any more wasted dollars in regulations and requirements.

Just pause for a moment and think about the families of the victims, and how their lives will be forever changed, regardless of the cause of the incident. Prayes for all involved.

  4. I would call Funco for sure before going taller. I would sacrifice front end lift for rear end slide any day of the week. Plus the taller tire is going to have a rounder profile that will bite harder in the rear while turning. This will cause that tipsy factor that FUNCO is not known for. Along with increasing the stress to the car and your wallet. I have 14.50's and run about 10 psi with a number 2 cut paddle. Great package all around. FYI Xtreme 14.50 paddles are about 2" taller than the STU or dune tires of America. I run the dune tires of America as well and switched from the xtremes just because the carcus of the tire was more round causing it to bite in the corners and putting me up on 2 wheels. But who knows funco may have a hidden tire in between that is exactly what your looking for with out taking any risk by making a gut decision.

Yah, I'm not going any taller, because of the 4" jump in dia.. Grant insisted on dune sports, which is what I was after(keeping the slidablity). It's just deciding on the width now...14.50 vs. 16.50s

And as it turns out, my season is done now anyhow. I was riding my bike this Sunday, and my car got stuck. I jumped back in my car with my riding boots on, and I committed the unforgivable sin of using reverse. Not having the "feel" for the pedal, due prolly to the boots, I'll soon be making a contribution to the metal recycling industry, with the innards of my mendeola :banghead::banghead::banghead:

  5. Add Aluma seal n Radiator fluid to them tires. It seals em right up. Did first week in the season haven't added a pound since also check your torque on bead locks.

These already have it. Yah, Tim swore by it. I noticed when I bolted up the spares , and had the paddles on their side, I'd get a puddle of the stuff weeping out. I had checked the beadlocks first, but thank you...both great ideas.

call Funco Im sure they can answer that for sure.

Went over to Funco yesterday...walked in the doors, toured the shop... again...and again, I swore I could hear angels singing :headbang1: I told him I'd give my teeth to work in a shop like that :P

Class act over there, Grant helped me with a few parts, and with advice. He said absolutely, to change them out. Once the chords are showing, frayed like that, it's just a matter of time before the whole tire comes apart. He also said to stay with that brand(which I knew). unfortunately, it's that diameter, or +4", which sounds like a huge jump in final drive ratio, which he discouraged. I believe I'm going to step up to the 16.50s. He said no change in diameter, but would offer a bit more bite.

He caught me gawkin at the new lines of gen 6. My specs would put me at $115k  Prolly not gonna happen :(

  6. The 14.50s only occasionally leave marks on the just trailing arms, so I'm assuming its happening in turns/tire distortion. I always set them at 15 psi, to ensure a lil extra tire spin, hoping to increase trans longevity. They do however bleed off psi. I'm at the point of adding air every morning before a run now

  7. call Funco Im sure they can answer that for sure.

I have to make a run over there for a couple of little this that need replacing. I'll probably go Monday; I'll ask him then.

Tim had the rims cut and narrowed an inch so it would fit in the trailer.

Yah, that sounds more like what he told me.

Making me wonder though, if the 16.50s would rub the trailing arms... Occasionally the 14.50s do already.

  8. So those are just a bit wider, which might help get the nose off the ground again. I recently read that on the funco site, that I should be running the wider ones. I remember OGP describing something about the paddles he altered, in order for it to fit in his hauler. Maybe that was it. Does anybody know if the 16.50 provides a taller diameter?

  9. I discovered my paddle tires have more or less deteriorated around the beadlock. Too much gosh darn torque I suppose :P The sidewalls are weaping air through the exposed chords, and I figure I better address this before I lose a trip over it. I'm not interested in stuffing tubes in there, so I'm in the market for new meats. Funco promotes their dune sport II, dune tires of America, due to their flat profile, which promotes sliding the a$$ around drifting. I don't want to lose that aspect, but was hoping for a taller diameter, to increase the top end a bit. I have 14.50x15 now. Does anybody know if these come in a taller diameter, or any suggestions on a comparable flat profile paddle that's a lil taller. I believe mine are 30-31"

  10. Can you do a screen shot for me? Or just pm me your password so I can look into it from your account? The setting is enabled for members to be able to HIDE their own topics. Doublechecked, and yes, I have the topic moderation button, but It doesn't let me delete, but I can hide them.

I remember deleting them after a site upgrade a long while back, but that doesn't work anymore, so I have been just editing the title's to say sold...? But we're supposed to HIDE them, rather than delete...Is that how it's supposed to go?
