I need some help trying to trouble shoot my problem.

When I put a new spark plug in it will run for about few minutes then burn the plug and shut off.

I have not checked anything yet. Could it be the points or valve adjustment. I am no mechanic but can try a few different things. Any info would be appreciated.

The was running fine then just went dead. My girl was putting around in 1st gear and may have something to do with it????

what color is the plug when it stops running?

Agree what color is the plug is it wet? Burnt out black or brown color? Could be running rich and fowling the plug out, give us some more info Jack..

Thanks for the info. I will pull one out I have about 4 to look at and I will even post a pic of one. I am thinking more on the dry side and black. But not sure 100%. Let me get the facts first. Thanks.

have you cleaned the air cleaner?? dos it leak gas from the bottom of the carb?? when it is runing dos it rev out or ???
