dunefreak
That's a bummer. Subie is usually a great replacement for a VW. Still lightweight and loads more power and reliability.
andydew
I've heard good on the chevy ecotech motor as well. Lightweight lil' 4 banger.
ItsWeeks
Ecotech, subie, honda or a rotary if you can keep it running cool.
Johnny Cashman
Call Sean over at CBM. He can dial you in with a Ecotec. I have one in my car and it rips through the dunes. Depending on the $$$ you want to spend the ecotec is a very user friendly motor. You can start with a 2.2L motor from CBM and add power as you want by adding a super charger or turbo. I have a Supercharged 2.2L in my car and it pulls the wheels off the ground. Plus you can't beat the hospitality you get over at CBM. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
