My sisters and I were moving another sister to the midwest....picture this: 4 women, a 24ft moving van towing a Ford Escort behind it, my Burb with her and her 2 autistic sons all traveling together non-stop, except for fuel, potty and food of course, with NO men aboard. We were somewhere between Utah and Wyoming, the 3 mountain passes in a row, I think they are called the 3 sisters?? Anyway, as we top the first mountain pass, or maybe it was the second, I don't remember, sister #1 radios to me that all the warning gauges on the truck are flashing and we need to pull over to the first gas station we get to. Just so happens to be an "old fashion" service station with actual mechanics on duty!! So I go in and tell this one guy what's going on and he comes out and checks the moving truck for everything....fluids, hoses, wiring, etc. He's says nothing looks wrong and we should be O.K., the worst climb was over, BUT if it starts up again over the next pass, be sure to call the moving company and let them know what's happening with the truck. We offered him money for his time and help and he refused it. He said, and this I will never forget, "If I accept money from you, then it wouldn't be called helping." He had a midas touch, because the truck did fine and we didn't see another warning light the rest of the trip. :disco-dance: The further away from Vegas we got, the nicer and more considerate people were. Seems that every truck stop we hit to fuel up, truckers were right there pumping the diesel for us. We missed this one exit and ended up in a grocery store parking lot asking this man if we were on the right track to get back to the freeway. We were and it's a good thing he told us the details of what to expect, or we probably would have been in the wrong lane and went the wrong way! We met some really awesome people along the way! barefoot bob Posted May 5, 2007 Share Posted May 5, 2007 ive had so many people in so many bad situations i wouldnt know where to begin i dont think im anywhee near caught up paying forward but i do try... so to be fair to all the kindness ive been showed ill thank god for those people and hopefully he will bless them 10 fold !!!
