Dumont is one of the specifically named OFF HIGHWAY RECREATION AREAS it will now take an act of Congress to shut it down, not just one Judges signature like happened in Glamis. Not to say it can not happen, but it is much harder with this protection.1 point

Just arrive in daylight and keep your eyes on the ground and go quick. Plenty of hard packed areas and lots of soft sand too. If you get stuck, post here and one of us will yank you out.1 point

You can get to plenty of decent spots. You just need to avoid the soft areas or keep you momentum. The hardest packed area is off to the left as soon as you get up the hill from the entrance road. When you see the ranger station on your right, hang a left into the camp area.1 point
