  1. You guys making it out for sure? We will be by bathroom 3 if you do. If it changes I will let you know. We are heading out Thursday and coming home on Sunday.
  2. I really hope he does make a full recovery, but from what I heard today, it is not looking good. The hospital had a social worker talk to his wife and told her to sign up for long term disability because he will never walk again. Now, this didn't come from the doctors directly. And it has only been 4 days since the accident and it is too soon to tell. His wife freaked and was to talk to the doctors today and find out WTF was going on. If he does walk again, his family won't allow him to ride. I know that most people will get on and ride, but not him. Thank you again to everyone.
  3. Thank you to everyone for you well wishes, thoughts and prayers. The latest as of today is they have taken him out of his drug-induced coma and trying to manage his pain the best they can. He has no memory at all of that day. Not coming to the house, going riding or even the crash. The only thing he remembered was his wife had a party that day. Still no feeling in his legs. Doctors are hoping that is still from the trauma of the accident. Could be because of the verterbrae being removed or the torn membrane around the spinal cord. Only time will tell. He may be able to get out of ICU this weekend. We will see. I highly doubt he will EVER ride again. Don't think his wife or family will allow it. Might be posting his and his daughters quad on here at a later time.
  4. Thanks for the thoughts so quickly. Trust me, this accident has made me and my husband realize how quickly life can take a spin out of control. We have an 8 year old and 5 year old that ride and we told them today that this is exactly why we tell them the quad is not a toy. Our friend wasn't even doing anything stupid and he ended up in the condition he is. Oh, and I forgot to add he also tore the membrane around the spinal cord. Didn't tear the spinal cord, thank God. But only time will tell if he will walk again
  5. Hi Everyone.... Just wanted to put a shout out and ask anyone and everyone to keep my family friend in your thoughts and prayers. :praying: He went out riding on Sunday with my husband and was heading towards Wagon Wheel in Hendo following the train tracks from Arrowhead Trail. We are not sure how it happened, but the family friend flipped off his quad, landed face down with his brand new quad upside down on top of him. He doesn't remember how or what happened. The only thing my husband said is he was ahead of him, went over the little hill caught a little air and turned to make sue he made it and didn't. He was taken to Sunrise trauma do to him having issues breathing when they were getting ready to transport him. My husband was freaked out about it. Once at the hospital, it was determined that he had no feeling in his legs. They did a CT and found that he broke a couple of vertebrae in his back. They decided to do an MRI as well to check everything. They determined they would do surgery that night. The surgeon originally said the surgery would last 5-6 hours and that they would need to remove 2 ribs, the broken vertebrae and that he had a blood clot in his stomach. Surgery ended up lasting 7 hours, lost a lot of blood, only had 1 rib removed to get to vertebrae to remove broken ones and not sure if they got the blood clot or not. The recent update today was they put him in a drug induced coma to help him cope with the pain. However, they were supposed to cut back on the meds to pull him out of the coma, get him alert and remove the breathing tubes. As though this isn't enough, his wife is 9 months pregnant and due any day and they have a 4 year old little girl. Once he pulls through the surgeries (more are expected don't know when) he will have a LONG recovery and or rehab. I am not generally a praying person, but he needs anything and everything he can get to get him better. Thanks all!!
  6. I have to agree with everyone. I work for a Fortune 500 company and at the end of last year we were told that we would not be getting any raises for the next 2 years, no incentives, no 401k matching, cost of benefits going up, etc.... Now, you would probably say "at least you still have a job"..... That is what I said, until this Monday. We are having a BIG meeting at the end of the month to go over "restructuring". Have heard that there is a potential for another 20% of the workforce losing their jobs. My location could be a good chunk (rumors are floating). My heart goes out to every body. I should say the "little guy". I am so tired of all of these corporate big wigs making bank and the rest of us struggling to make ends meet. I especially feel bad for the teachers out here since the schools suck so bad as is. Good luck to everyone.
  7. I will go through the closet and see what I can find. I am sure my hubby has some clothes that he doesn't wear I can donate. I will drop them off to Pete Tuesday night if I have any. Just need the house number, I know the street name (used to live right around the corner from him)
  8. Well, I have never been accused of being all that smart at times. I don't leave it in there anymore, are you kidding?!?! I have live in Vegas for about 12 years and I have never had problems. I guess with the economy going down hill, quickly, people are getting desperate.
  9. Be careful with that too. I accidently left the back window half way rolled down in our truck. I always leave my purse in the truck. In an hour and a half inside my mother in laws house, some punk kids stretched in to unlock the door, took my purse, GPS, sirius satelitte receiver, my 5 year olds backpack and lunch box. They locked the truck again before they left. When we went to leave and saw everything missing, I felt VIOLATED. My purse was found around the corner, everything from inside was gone, except my SSN cards (those are no longer kept in my purse). I think they were interrupted because my Ipod was still there too. Just all my credit cards, checkbook (had to change my account#), my drivers license and cash. Watch out everyone. People are getting desperate nowadays.
  10. I forgot to add, they cook everything tableside. They have this seasoning too that they call Japanese watermelon. DOn't know what it is, think its butter and garlic and something else, but not sure. they won't still us.
  11. If you like Japanese Hibachi food, I HIGHLY recommend Geisha House. They are on Desert Inn and Sandhill in the Domino's Pizza parking lot. It looks like a dive, but the food is the best!!! They have a meal that is $35 per person and you get lobster, shrimp, filet mignon, chicken, fried rice, vegetables, appetizer and soup and salad. Oh, and let's not forget sake 2 people could really share the meal, but now they charge for sharing. But still worth it! I would make a reservation to be safe. Let me know if you want the address and phone number.
  12. That is just about enough out of you Bill...... besides you already know the WHOLE story.
  13. If someone out there can PLEASE give me some insight, I think I am being :porn: I took my car in on Saturday due my clutch being out on my '07 Mustang V6 5speed (17,850 miles). I was told that my clutch pad burned out. Funny thing is when I got off the freeway at Horizon and thought it smelled like someone's car was on fire (it was my clutch pad). Prior to the clutch going out, it engaged at about 1/4 or 1/2 way out. Now, it doesn't engage until it is almost all the way out, almost to where the clutch pops. We took it back to the dealer to have the clutch readjusted and the response from the dealer, like every other time is "it is normal function for the '07 hydraulic clutch for the mustang". We have test driven the '09 Mustang which is said to have the same clutch as mine and it does what mine used to do....engage at 1/4 - 1/2 out. As of today, they supossedly have done every test possible and everything has passed. They said they are going to hook the lines up to a vacuum like thing to try and get all the air out of the lines. I am sure they will come back and say "it is functioning like a normal mustang". I am at my wits end and don't know what else to do. I have had a few other run in with the dealer that just makes me want to The under carriage has a creaking/popping sound too when you start going in first gear. Anyone out there know anything or everything about the mustang? If so, please give me some insight or something else to take to the dealer to have them check on. I am afraid I have a lemon and they are avoiding any costly repairs. I have already told them that they are making have thoughts of running my car through their front door (can't or I will lose my job and go to jail). Please someone give me some suggestios. Thanks!
  14. :?: I can't handle the crapper. We have thought about doing the water though, could be profitable. And as for you Dune Family..... Other than that, I think it could possibly work. If enough people pay for the service, it might just be worth it for a company.
  15. Not sure if this has ever been brought up, but thought of an excellent money making idea for holiday weekends. Has anyone approached the idea of having travelling water, propane and waste (sewer dumps) drive through the camps or be camped in vendor row? Whenever we were out at Nascar there are travelling trucks. If my memory serves me right it was $40 for a dump and not much for water and propane. Helped out quite a bit when you are camped out and start getting stressed over running out of water or propane or getting filled up with black/grey water. Just an idea.
  16. We are having the exact same issue with our WW as well. We took it in to be looked at and was told it would be $800 to replace it. We didn't replace it, just keep extra fuses and foil on hand for now. :rainbow1: Any input is greatly appreciated.
  17. That sounds badazzzzzzzzzzzz!!! I will talk to the hubby and see about bring some of our decoratios out. We usually decorate our house and little cargo trailer every year. I think it would be great for the kids as well.
  18. Hey Dirtaddict....long time no see. When we went out at Halloween we stayed by restroom 4 on the other side of the rock pile and vendors row. It wasn't too crazy or hectic in that area, especially if you go with a group of people. No paddles needed for the kids either. Nice to see you again.
  19. Ok, I normally don't respond, but I could not stop laughing. I don't know if this is a true story or not, but OMG!!!!!! I was crying when I was reading it. Thanks for one of the best laughs of the day!!!
  20. I will definetly try to make it. This too, is one of my first posts. I have been reading the other posts and would love to get out there and meet everyone. This is our first trip to Dumont, can't wait!!
  21. Thanks everyone for your input. Giannamyhero.....those are exactly what I am looking for. I saw something similiar to these in my area today as a matter of fact, and thought those looked like they would be ideal.
  22. Does anyone know of ANY place in town (Vegas) that sells diamond plate curb ramps or something similar? We have heard of putting asphalt in the gutter and working it up to a ramp, but is there a law against that in Henderson? We are tired of backing the truck or trailer in and getting bumped around hopping over the curb. If you know of anywhere or have any suggestions, let me know. THANKS!!!
