  1. We have a cool one for our flat bed Big Tex trailer.... ATVN :mischevious:
  2. Great idea!!! I use Excel all the time for bills, budgets and stuff for work! Thanks!!! :mischevious:
  3. Good to know!! I'm learning as we go!!! :mischevious:
  4. Yeah, that's one thing I've stressed to my hubby. He thinks we can just get a smaller TH. We did that with our first house. Who knew 2 people could outgrow a 1700 sq ft house!!! We sold that one and now have a house a little too big! :mischevious:
  5. Wow! Lots of great advice! I'm going to print these posts! If I get a toy hauler, it will most likely be from my dad. Thank goodness! We just got through the whole negotiating thing at the Dodge Dealership. I learned to buy the last day of the month!!! :mischevious:
  6. I decided to start a new thread and get some helpful advice from people who've owned TH's and what you've learned. This whole process reminds me of buying our first house. There were so many things we learned and did different on our 2nd house. I'd like to hear what kind of options and things are important, especially in taking TH's out to the sand, the mountains, etc? What can't you live without? Or, on the other hand, what would you not get the next time??? Thanks!!!!
  7. I like your truck!!! If I ever figure our how to attach photos on here, I'll post pics of our new truck. We have to take the pics, too!!! :-)
  8. I saw those online. The 30 ft looks like a nice floorplan with a 18 ft garage!! I'm a newbie to this whole toy hauler thing, but it looks really nice!!! How much do they cost???
  9. Sounds like our truck. The truck is really nice. We had a 1500 Ram in the same color with 35 inch tires, 6 inch lift and nice rims. We parked them side by side before leaving the dealership and the 2500 dwarfs the 1500!!! My husband already got the 8 inch drop for our flatbed trailer, with the option to use either the small ball or larger one to tow a toy hauler. We're excited! Now we just have to figure out what hauler we're going to get!!!
  10. Good to know. Yeah, his tires are mud grapplers (they just look really big to me)!!! My dad said we could flip the axles, if needed! Thanks!
  11. Yeah, we will have 2 quads to load for now. My husband widened his Raptor, so it's a few inches wider than my Honda. I was thinking that we'd probably load them lengthwise, not side by side. If we ever got a Rhino, then we'd have to figure that out (one of the reasons why I'm trying to save cargo space). We transport the quads on a 12 ft flat bed Big Tex trailer right now and they fit perfect. So, I'm keeping that measurement in mind for this hauler. Good to know about the weight and axles! My husband works with loading trucks a lot, so he probably already knew this!!! I, on the other hand, didn't!!! :-) Thanks!!!
  12. Good to know about the double sway. I'm new to all of this, so I basically know nothing about trailers! A year ago I wouldn't even go camping and I didn't have a quad!!! So, I'm learning as I go!! :-)
  13. Interesting to hear about the ease of towing the 34 ft trailer. I've been checking out the brands my dad sells today. All of the include: Holiday Rambler, Jayco, Coachman & Keystone. I'll have to see if any of them have a triple axle. Thanks!!!
  14. Your trailer is really nice! The only thing is that we live in a culdesac, so my husband was thinking that we'd have to turn it around. Because my neighbors at the top of the culdesac park in the street, we have a hard time already turning around with our trucks. The nice thing is that we live 2 houses from the bottom of the culdesac, so we can always back it in and not have to travel too far uphill and park. Or we can park it at the bottom of the hill, but what a pain to load. My neighbors across the street are a**holes and have a fit if we use their driveway to straighten our flatbed trailer to get it in the garage. They claim my husband ruined their driveway with his 4 or 5 tire tracks he's made!!! Our driveway is super clean even with 2 trucks, 2 quads, a trailer and his friends quads that come over!!! Ok - I have to stop venting about them!!! Thanks for the feedback. My husband was iffy on getting a hauler any longer than 24 or 26 ft. :gayboy:
  15. Thanks for the reply. So you don't have any issues towing it? How long is your trailer? Reason I ask is because our friends were telling us that sometimes they see haulers in accidents because of the wind (or whatever the problem) and the worst ones are with tow behinds. I think a tow behind is the best option for us & I'd like to get a front sleeper because it just gives us more options.
  16. What do you like and not like about having a travel trailer instead of a 5th wheel? Do you find the TT difficult to haul???
  17. Great advice - thank you! I'm glad you mentioned the front sleeper. Yeah, our friend told us we should really consider a 5th wheel because they're easier to tow. the 2500 is a short bed and it's even shorter than our friend's short bed, so I'm not sure if that's possible. Do you tow a 5th wheel or a travel trailer? My cousins tow a travel trailer (about 26-28 ft long). They go everywhere with it and only had issues going to Pismo, when they got new tires the auto place traded out the tires and since then, they haven't had issues. We really need it for the 2 of us and our 2 dogs. But, I know we'll be taking friends along a lot of the times.
  18. Yeah, I've heard some good things about Warriors and I like their interiors. Unfortunately, my dad's dealership doesn't sell them. I know my dad will take great care of us, so I really want to buy from him.
  19. Well, my hubby and I went down to the Dodge dealership and upgraded his truck to a 2500. It is soooo cool! We got a 6 inch lift, 37 inch tires and nice rims included. And we got a great deal, which is even better!!! Anyway, I'm trying to figure out what toy hauler to get. We're looking at the Jayco's and Holiday Ramblers (my dad works at an RV dealership in AZ and those are his favorites that they sell). I'd like to stay around 26-28 ft in length. Has anyone seen the new Black Diamond by Holiday Rambler? I guess they're new. My dad was telling me about them last night on the phone, but they haven't got them in yet. I took a look at the floorplans on their website. I like the Jayco Talon, but looks like they don't have them in the 2007 products.
  20. I'm sorry to hear about your dad. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
  21. I agree. I went to the hospital a couple times here in Henderson for emergencies. The ER staff just ignored me and after 3 hours, figured out I was in the wrong place and sent me to the OR. During this time I was just hemorraging - no big deal!!! Another time, I got really sick, couldn't stop throwing up. When the ER was taking my vitals, I jumped up and ran to the bathroom. Didn't make it and started throwing up in the hallway in a bag my husband brought for me. No one checked on me and my husband had no idea what happened. Several hospital employees passed me in the hallway, too. I think my vet gives better service to my animals than our hospitals do!!!
  22. I really like Armagossa. The first time I rode in the sand, it was there and the conditions were perfect!!! It was like riding on butter (that's my hubby's saying)! The only bad thing is that there's really no supervision, so you get lots of stupid people riding around without their helmets or riding doubles on quads near the campsites. It's not as bad as Apex, but needless to say, that's the one thing I didn't like. It's not as crowded as Dumont and there aren't really any showboaters there. Although, sometimes it's funny to watch people showboat and THINK they're cool!!!
  23. Bring your own food!!! That's the only safe alternative!!!
  24. I think the guy is still there. Years ago, there was nothing out there. Now, it's been built up in his area.
