  1. GTP Off Road will be out there on Vendor Row. Mike and I are going to try to roll in Tuesday night after work, maybe get a couple of runs in before the work begins! Stop by and say hello! Check out what we have, introduce yourself. Stop by for a visit by the campfire after shut down.. we are too tired to camp hop.. ;)

  2. Jodi, how did the drone follow you? Was the pilot in one of the vehicles being filmed or in another vehicle just shadowing the line?

Brandon was in Adam's RZR, lead vehicle, his drone has a "follow me" feature. He sat passenger and it was I guess "teathered" would be a good word to a notebook and Brandon had it in his lap.
  3. One of our really good friends had a drone out this weekend for our Camp GTP Season Opener... It "followed" him so some of us took off and did a run video..
    So much fun!!!

It was Adam and Brandon up fron tin Adam's 2 seat RZR, Mike and FireKracker in the rail, Scott in his 4 seat RZR and then me bringing the tail end in the Ace! Part way one of the kids in our camp jumped in line on his quad!

This was my favorite ride of the weekend!

  4. We maxed out at 10 mph going on Thursday night. We thought it was a pretty rough road, there were some smoother spots, but there was also pot holes and some pretty bad washboards.. It actually seemed slightly better going out... Maybe because we could see.. But still topped out at 15 mph.. Maybe we are a little more cautious, since we have broken stuff going down the road, but no way we were going to hit 25 - 30...

  5. It was a GREAT season opener! We have had a BLAST traveling around for the summer dune season, but it always feels great to be "home" at Dumont.

We arrived Thursday evening a little later then expected, had a bit of a truck issue going up Potasi, but Mike got it fixed and off we went on our way again. We rolled in to an already roaring campfire, so quick unload and set up and off to kick back with drinks and friends! :drinkbeer:

Love  our new to us toy hauler, so easy to get set up, everything is already in its place for the most part.

It started to rain on us, so quickly cover the toys and hang out under an awning to finish off the drinks and head to bed. Fell asleep to the rain on the roof of the toy hauler.

Woke up in the morning, thinking that maybe we should have brought a boat :rain::rain: Didn't matter to much, a rainy day at Dumont is still better then any day at work!

But the rain finally stopped and we headed off for our first Dumont run. The sand was wet, but we had a blast shredding the sand and tearing it up laying fresh tracks. We spent the day riding between rain storms.

The rain storms made for some incredible views. Low clouds, rainbows and lightening.

The rest of our group rolled in almost exactly the same time Friday night.

Woke up Saturday morning and it was really weird to see Dumont all socked in with low clouds, you could not see any of the surrounding mountains. But the sun came out and it ended up being a nice warm day.

Saturday we had two mishaps. With one injury, broken arm, ride to UMC in an ambo, but thankfully every one walked away from both accidents. Can't thank all the people who helped out with both incidents enough. Duners helping duners! So appreciate it!!:beercheers:

All in all it was a great weekend with great friends.

And sorry everyone... we tore the F :censored: N S :censored: T outta those dunes! :headbang1:

  6. Looks like that weekend will be cooler and trending down.

    Oct. 15th - 92 / 64 sunny

    Oct. 16th - 91 / 63 sunny

Too hard to predict that far out... I wouldn't even bother looking at the forecast until 1 week out. Two weeks ago it was supposed to be 95 in Las Vegas for this passed weekend, so I made plans to go out of town and then BAM it changed 1 week out to 85, and two weeks out there was no rain predicted for Sunday and Monday of this week either and then BAM 1 week out and rain is forecasted.

We hit up Little Sahara, Ut a couple weeks ago, highs in the 70's predicted, one week out BAM 92... we still went, still had a blast. Stayed in the couple hours where its hot and you can't see the dunes anyway....

We are die hards that way ;)

    FYW

Over 100... maybe we'll call that too hot.... besides it's an El Nino year, soon it will be too rainy! :rain::laughing:
