Remember one thing.. when you buy fireworks in Nevada and take them to Cali, you are crossing state lines and now it becomes a FEDERAL issue. On Memorial day, I was stopped just north of Baker in the high performance race Ranger..... Not only the local Sheriff, but Fire Dept, Bomb Squad AND ATF was checking all the vehicles. Now, take the time to think about where you light them off. Since So. Cal has burned to the ground, officials are a little nervous at the sight of illegal fireworks... may end up on the wrong side of a service .40...

I work for the power company and we have crew from all over trying to get the lights back on and poles replaced. Dont forget to keep the electric crews in your prayers too... they are on th efront line as well... You guys crack me up.... yeah, its nice to get out of the wind when its blowing, so that is why I was thinking about dragging it out there. I'll post pics, so everyone will know who I am.... Yes, I'll give it a good cleaning before I come out, even though its only 3 months old.... BTW... if you have enough "excitable" children I can bring the horses. They are bred for cutting/reining.. so I can round the kids up and drive them back to camp...

BUT.. would the "Crowd" let me camp with them?? Guess I would be easy to find...AND I can lock the quads up pretty securly at night.... I'll get some pics when I get home or get my son to post some pics..

Heres the deal... I sold my Toyhauler after living in it for a year while my house was being built. Family said "No Way" would they ever spend anymore time in it....... Sooo... I have a 3 horse goosneck trailer with living quarters. My son and I ride only and are heading out to Dumont for the weekend soon. We usually tent it, but it would be nice to have a room to stay in with our own restroom... Is that too "redneck" for Dumont??? Take it easy on the reples....

All right... here's the deal. I have tried and tried to bum a ride in a sandcar while out in Dumont. I have offered $$ for gas, but no go. I would not let any stranger to ride my quad, but what is the proper ettiquite for asking for a RIDE in a rail?? Is this taboo, and dont even ask?? Offer money straight up?? Offer to help make repairs if it breaks ( I am a certified GM tech (go figure)?? Or am I just out of my league even asking for a ride??? Need some ideas. I would love to go for a ride in one of those sand cars...... BTW, I am at the tender age of 40. Not like I'm a youngin looking to see how far a rail can fly off a razor.....

According to CHP website, they reported using green Kawi off road vehicle to locate subject past entrance at Dumont Dunes. Next report was 1144 (Fatality) and mercy air was enroute... Boots.... Look at the Gaerne Boots.. I bought a pair of SG-10's. They are the most comfortable boots I have worn, and dont have the "arch knot" like Alpinestars...

Just checked the CHP report and they are reporting a fatality at Dumont. Anyone hear anything?? I know this is fresh info and it may take some time to find out what the story is. Hate to see fatalities at Dumont...
