  1. My youngest son winning a fishing derby at Hume Lake. 25 1/2 inch, 8 lb trout. Caught on a crappie jig.. Go figure...
  2. How about a shoe size?? I have 8-9-11 and 15/16 (Jeremy)... I know Jeremy wears XXL.. sorry on the pants size though... What size is the wife?? I have some warm clothes from living in the frozen tundra AKA Tehachapi that we can part with... BTW.. ask if he likes fish... I still have 30+ punds of halibut and salmon from my Alaska trip
  3. Just another dumb a$$ tweaker that cant find a job and pay for his own stuff. Wanted to get the word out that there was some recovered property. I would hate to see any good stuff just sit around and collect dust.... Idiots... I'm with you cheese.. forget the canned hunts in Texas, start issuing hunting lic. for theives....
  4. http://www.tehachapinews.com/home/ViewPost/77967
  5. Got back from Alaska.. not today, but this is the first time I have had a chance to pst up...
  6. My company just had a guy arrested for stealing copper wire. When the Sheriff's Dept investigated his house in Santa Clarita, they found 4 stolen quads (along with about 6000 lbs of copper wire). I do NOT know the types, makes, years..... but it may help if anyone has had a quad stolen in Santa Clarita to call the Sheriff's Dept to get more info on the quads. I believe the guy was arrested on 07/16/08. TB
  7. Work!! TRIPLE TIME $$$ !!! Hey, someone has to keep the lights on...I guess...
  8. I work for a public utility in So Cal. Work is booming.... now dont get me wrong, I was a certified Service Tech for a GM Dealership long ago, and found out in my younger years that flag time is a losing proposition.... Its nice to have a job that people depend on more and more.. electricity is always in high demand... and with summer fast approaching, I am already starting to see the double time kick in.. If you are looking for a job with decent pay, dont overlook local utilities... you may have to take 1 step back to take 2 forward....
  9. How lame... just like selling windpower to the masses... But hey, an hour that I dont have to worry about the power is easy money for me!!
  10. My son and I were duning most of the weekend. I was on a red TRX 450 and my son was on a white Z-400. The dunes were like butter. It was fantastic until Sunday about 11 am when the wind and sand started removing skin from my face. We saw a few groups of quads in the dunes, but I was suprised when there seemed to be more rails then quads in the dunes....
  11. We left around 1145, saw the Fire Dept heading down the finger followed by the CHP. When I got home, I checked the CHP website, they reported that run as a fatality.... Prayers go out to the family.... BTW... CHP website family had been notified and enroute from Apple Valley...
  12. My son and I will be out there with guys from the ATVtech board. Cant miss us, we'll probably be the only ones in the dunes with a horse trailer....
  13. Thanks, I just blew milk out of my nose...sheesh..
  14. Thursday we took a few rides, but always found ourselves going back to comp hill. there is just something about that hill when it has NO tracks on it......it had no whoops and you just glided down 5th gear pinned until the bottom 5th gear pinned... Now THAT's a story... Someday when I meet up with eveyone, I'll have to tell the tale of Cheese and his first trip down comp.....
  15. Looks like my son and I may make it out there. Dont know if we are going to tent it or bring out Casa De Equine... I'll be out on a trx 450R, son will be on a white Z-400.. See eveyone out there....
  16. We probably saw you out there. What color is your rail? I saw a red and blue rail out there powered by 1835. One guy was at Comp hill adjusting his carbs. Yeah, we enjoyed the cold...NOT!! I woke up Sunday morning since we stayed in the trailer w/o heat, and loaded the rest of the firewood in our fire pit and started a small bonfire to break the chill... Friggin milk was frozen solid (And i left it in the back of the truck in a small cooler without the lid)...
  17. We made it out there... tried out Casa de Equine. Worked great, but froze our butts off Sat. night. The sand was still wet, but had great traction. My son's Z400 ran great and we hit EVERY dune out there. WTF is with people still riding without helmets and turbocharged, V-8 sand cars splitting quads racing up comp?? We met some new people out there, but it was pretty sparse. Figured that everyone is saving up for New Years.
  18. My son and I may be out there. I'll be on a Red 450R and he will be on a white Z400... I dont know if I will be driving the F-250 or the Ranger.....F-250 is red CC 4X4, Ranger is a gray POS 4X4. I dont have a clue where we plan on staying, just want to get out in the sand!!
  19. Geezz... c'mon now.. thats why I bring a piece of flat steel to put the charcoals on.... But hey.. If you're offering to feed us, I'm down with that too....
  20. Nope...we're on the other side... we play the central cali schools.. (Taft, Wasco, Shaftner....) I think Lancaster and Palmdale may play Apple Valley. Now I have to drop 3 bills on a letterman jacket... can you friggin believe that..3 bills!!
  21. Warriors are CIF Champions!! They beat Foothill 33-28. One of the best games I have ever seen!! Tje fog was intense, the temp was in the low 30's, and there was a light rain/snow.... Warrios were down 7 poinst by half time, but reallypoured it on in the 4th quarter to take the win!!
  22. I'm a dutch oven kinds guy.... Bavarian pot roast, corn souffle, green beans, and a peach cobbler to finish it off..... I do throw down some carne asada tacos in a pinch... Breakfast: Burritos stuffed with eggs, sausage, cheese with a side of fried potato slices w/onions...MMMMMMMMM Lunch... "Lunchables" ..Hey, I'm in a hurry mid-day....
  23. Friday night, Nov 30, my son will be palying with the Tehachapi Warriors for the Div III CIF championship against Foothill. Too bad those mamby-pamby Foothill players have to come up "the Mountain". Looks like possible snow flurries and a high of 30. GO WARRIORS!!! BTW.. Richard Cheese... Jeremy is now 6'3" and 220.. Just right as a tackle!!
  24. I have been a victim of True Name Fraud. They got info on me (about 10 yrs old) and opened 28 credit cards in my name. The company that issues the cards called my Credit Union and reported that there was a large amount of cards being issued. Talk about a pain in the azz..... I had to call all the credit agency, report that I was a victim of true name fraud and cancel all the cards. Then call all the credit card companies and close the accounts, then call the Secret Service in Washington D.C. (They are the ones that supposedly take care of that stuff) .... I feel for you... BTW.. Nigerians are the leading minority group in the U.S. that commit true name fraud... what luck...
  25. VERY TRAGIC... I was at my sons football game last night telling a good friend about the accident. I was shocked to find out that both the families are LAFD families and one of the parents works at the same station as my friend. He told me that the parent will be off until the end of the year. It is so tragic to hear about loss of life, even worse when it was a child......
