  1. Jimmy Lynn, the guy who keeps our bathrooms clean and running at Dumont, shared these killer photos from out there this week. The dunes are looking wild right now… steep faces, sharp razors, and that early-season fluff that’ll keep you on your toes.

If you’re heading out soon, be ready for some crazy conditions. The sand is soft, steep, and stacked! Be careful.

He mentioned that if your entering Little Dumont and you drive in on the pavement, veer left at the end of the pavement. Stright or right is like quicksand.

Huge thanks to Jimmy for the pics and all the work he does out there keeping Dumont looking good!

  2. Many people have been asking how Halloween weekend will work this year since Halloween falls on a Friday.

To clarify — the official Halloween weekend at Dumont Dunes is October 30 – November 2. Normally, Halloween weekend is the weekend before Halloween, unless Halloween actually lands on a weekend — which it does this year!

    🎃 Trick-or-Treating Around Camp
The long-standing tradition of trick-or-treating around camp will still happen on Saturday night, not Friday. Even though Halloween is on Friday, everyone (and all the dune groups) have agreed that the big night for trick-or-treating will remain Saturday night of Halloween weekend.

    🚗 Trunk-or-Treat at Vendor Row
The Friends of Dumont Dunes will be hosting their annual Trunk-or-Treat event at Vendor Row on Saturday evening.

    📅 Saturday, November 1st
    🕓 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
📍 West end of Vendor Row
🚗 Vehicle lineup begins at 3:30 PM — please back in your rigs so kids can enjoy the treats safely!

  3. Lots of crickets in here these days! 😄 What is everybody up to this summer?

We've been doing a bit of boating on Lake Mead, Lake Mojave and Havasu. Looking forward to hitting St Anthony pretty soon!

Check in and throw a post up if you're still alive and read the forum! 😄

  4. Because social media. ie: Instagram and FB.

I was still posting here for years even after it slowed way down when users used the social media apps, but it was like I was talking to myself so I stopped. Lol I still prefer the forum for discussion but the apps make it much easier to share videos and certain content. This site costs me a lot of money every month but I'll keep it going for as long as I can.

  5. Wow what a great turnout! At first I didn't think we would have that many cars show up this year, but then we had over 80 cars at sandcars and coffee. I think I burned more fuel than any other trip this time. The buggy rides were awesome. The weather was all over the place but it was really nice most of the weekend. We had a couple of cars on their lid but nobody got hurt. The carnage was minimal too so that's good. It was great seeing most of the regulars as well as some new faces. There are some badass cars that show up every year. Thanks to everyone who showed up, contributed towards the raffle, and made Buggy Roundup what it is. I hope you all had as much fun as I did. 🤟

  6. Our friend, Lily at OhMy Lumpia, will be serving breakfast starting at 7am with biscuits and gravy, pancakes, & eggs. Later on she'll also have combo lunches with lumpia, stir fry noodles and marinated bbq chicken available. Grab some grub and show her some Dumont love. She will be parked in the center of Buggy Roundup camp starting Friday morning. Much thanks to her & Firewood Vendors of Dumont Dunes for providing for the Buggy Roundup crew this weekend. 👊♥️

  7. Buggy Roundup Camp & Weekend Agenda (times are subject to change of course. Afterall it's a dune trip). We'll be camped in the usual spot, just across from restroom 10. See the map.

    👉Thursday

🔹Get there early, meet the early arrivals, and go make some tracks in the sand with everyone.

    👉Friday:

🔹Run the dunes and burn some fuel!

    👉Saturday:

🔹Sandcars & Coffee 8AM-9:30- Park your buggy in the center of camp. (Many guys do it the night before). Grab a coffee, wake up, mingle with other buggy people.

🔹10AM group ride: We will do a group ride with ALL the buggies ending someplace like North Pole, Comp or whatever feels right.

🔹Grab yourself some lunch and then head to the raffle area.

🔹1PM We will raffle off some prizes

🔹The rest of the day will be more duning finishing the last ride on Sunset Hill.

    👉Saturday Night

    🔹group bonfire

🔹possibly dune videos on the big screen

    👉Sunday

🔹Pick the sand out of your ears, go for another morning dune run, and then pack it up when you feel like it (or stay another day to enjoy Dumont some more)

  8. 2 weeks until Buggy Roundup weekend! I'm asking for a little help this year with a couple of things.

    1) We're looking for some new items to raffle off so if you have some ideas or anything you'd like to donate, drop a suggestion below or contact me via DM or email pete@dumontduneriders.com. You can also just bring donated items out that weekend if you're coming out.

    2) If you're a good leader in the dunes and don't mind leading some rides, please let me know so we can set that up throughout the weekend in addition to the normal dune runs.

    3) Don't forget to bring a little something to add to sandcars and coffee. 🍩🥐 Looking forward to seeing everyone. Please RSVP if you haven't yet. ✌️

  9. Well I finally made it back out to the sandbox after a long summer. This is probably the first time in 15 years that I have not made it out in October but it was so damn hot I'm glad we waited. Not only that I've had a bunch of other trips and things going on.

We had some great weather except for some wind on Saturday. We had a handful of problems with many of the buggies in our group but we got through them all and got a bunch of great dune rides in. I even ran into the guy who bought my Tech 3 and he ended up running with us for the rest of the weekend. That was pretty cool.

Lots of laughs and good times. I can't wait to get back out there in 3 weeks for Buggy Roundup. 🤟

I think this last Halloween will be the last for us as well. My group got in on Wednesday and had more than enough space for all of us along the ridge. By the time I got out there Thursday night, there was a car width between where I was supposed to park, and the camp next to us. My trailer got peppered by a RZR Friday morning. There isn't any respect for anything or anyone. I was a big fan of SXS and still am, but at the same time I despise them. Anyone with a 600+ credit score can go buy one with a 10 year loan for $300 a month, throw on the biggest speakers they can find, and go trash our dunes with no regard for anyone around them.

I sold my $75k Can Am and bought a $15k sandrail and am super happy with it.

Yep, it's been about 10 years since I've been out on a holiday weekend and actually enjoy it. 2009 (and before) was the sh*t out there on a holiday. Now I avoid it like hell.
