Yes, all of the above! Go nuts. Halloween is a blast.

Good Info and then some not so good news. I understand the office closed. But why the delay on returned calls to Vendors. Must be frustrating.
I know you tried and don't have the answer. Just wanted to voice that.
Hopefully the Postal Service runs a bit more efficient in the next few months...
To answer your question, it has nothing to do with the postal service. Johnny Walker RV, who sells the passes here in Vegas, gets them hand delivered and counted by BLM staff. 😮 I was shocked to hear that but it explains why they haven't gotten theirs yet.

Passes are printed and should be available for sale to the public soon according to the BLM. Just be patient and they should return your call. Their office is still closed because of covid. 🙄 I know many vendors haven't received their passes yet. I'm sure this year's pandemic crap has delayed the whole process some. We'll just have to be patient. I'd say if you haven't heard anything back in a week or two to try calling again.

I was able to get a hold of Katrina, the Barstow BLM manager, and she said their office is still closed to the public but they are checking voice messages. I'm not sure how long it takes for a return call.
Dumont passes have been printed and are in. They'll be on sale to the public soon.
I can't really answer your other questions other than you'll need to submit a permit packet to vend at Dumont. Gonna have to just wait for a return call I suppose.

Seems to be many people's experience lately. As soon as I hear something, I'll get it posted. I'll try reaching out via email again soon.

I have had communication with a couple of them recently. I'll see if I can get some answers regarding these things.

Weddle, Wright Gearbox, Rancho?

Maybe do a slow cruise down the back stretch to comp and then cut into the dunes and hammer down on the south end. Slow then fast! haha

Ah nevermind. My buddy sold it to a friend of his who ended up selling it to some guy in Pahrump. That was many years ago.

That's my friend's old car. I might be able to find out.

Is there service with at&t and Verizon?
Verizon, yes.
AT&T, we still haven't heard anything.
I may have to email the cell tower guy again and see if he knows.

Too early to start talking about Halloween weekend? Heck no. I'm really itching to get back out to Dumont this season.
I've been hearing ridiculous rumors lately about Dumont being closed for Halloween and just felt like that needed to be cleared up. Dumont is not going to close. The trunk or treat is still even scheduled for Halloween night.
🎃 Dates for Halloween weekend are Friday Oct 30 - Sunday, Nov 1. Halloween actually falls on Saturday night this year. 🤙🏻
So who's gonna be there?

It was cold as hell at night! In the 30's!
It was just a pulloff/ dispersed camping area in Holcomb Valley. Lots of places up there.

Thanks for sharing! It gets ridiculously hot out there. The sand holds and radiates so much heat from the sun. It's like being on another planet. Glad you guys didn't have any issues. Sucks about the north pole. We'll get it put back up if no one else does.

Not many people head out there during the summertime, although it would be the best time to capture the dunes. Good luck!

Welcome Steve. Yes, Dumont is HOT in the summertime. Plan on waiting until October or November.

Where Has Barstow BLM Been Lately?

BLM has been trying to come up with a management plan for Dumont, most importantly for vendor row, that follows the San Bernardino county and CDC guidelines. I think they are stalling on calling people back, getting the passes out, etc until that plan is in place. They are holding an emergency meeting today (Friday) and hopefully we have some answers and call backs. There is a small chance Dumont can get closed down (being in CA) because of this COVID crap. If they cannot manage it or if people don't abide by the rules, it'll either be temporarily closed off completely or there will no bathrooms, medical staff, etc like a government shutdown. It's a pretty messed up situation for them.
