    Good luck getting anything done in Cali. They are the most difficult. Some people that got it done have been contacted by the DMV to change back to commercial. Best advice came from escapees.Move!! Doug

    We had a great week out there. Met some great people while we were there. Also made it into Sand Chicks pic collection. Thanks. Pauly gave us a tug out on Friday which saved our day. Great guy!!! Had to chain up the rig on Sunday to get over the two passes in Colorado. Worst part of the trip. Wish we could get out there more than once a year. Doug

    80grit Glad you had a great trip. A person doesn't realize how much over weight you can be till the right tow vehicle is used. Then the driving is pleasant with no stress. Hey Doghouse Will have to check out the new rig next week. Talked to Steve and Ernie here in Denver today and they will not be making the trip to Dumont next week. Work is getting in their way. Doug

    Stephan Welcome to the dark side. What type of trailer are you towing? When the trailer is not pushing your TV around the trip is way more fun. Have you checked out the HDT forum on the escapees site? Doug

    Truck with 230 gal of fuel and 120 gal of water + two quads 21,000 lbs Trailer loaded for a trip 18,600 lbs Grand total 39,600 lbs Just an easy pull down the highway.

    Have not had a problem getting in and out of Dumont. I think Pismo would be a problem for me.

    Cheese 14500 lbs is the weight of the triple axles loaded. The max carrying weight of the axles is 15600 lbs. Cali law is 65ft for rec vehicles. Most states it is 70ft. Doug

    So if my total length is 64ft and total axle weight is 14500 lbs on triple 5200 lb axles.That should be legal? Thanks for the help. Doug

    What are the requirements for out of state? Colorado does not have any endorsments for towing trailers. Our truck is registered as a motorhome. The trailer is 18000 lbs. We come out to Dummont every year for Thanksgiving and never have had a problem. Thanks Doug
