  1. I might try that if the normal paint opportunities get thin. I am thinking that there has to be an industrial paint shop in LAS that can do this.
  2. Way too much to rattle can! I'd like a shop to blast the trailer and paint it right. Here are a few pictures. I have one more evening of cleaning up weld slag and stuff and it's ready for the paint shop. Click on the attachments. Also, on second thought, I'd like it painted dark gray or black. A light coat on the wood is fine. It's already crap and will be replaced in a year or two.
  3. Thanks for the quick reply! The wood deck is not that important. The main part of the trailer is silver (one coat Carson version). The second deck is bare mild steel (no rust). I want to paint both light gray which should be close to the original silver color. I will post an image tonight.
  4. I have the second deck on my Carson RV Special and now need the entire trailer painted. Can you all make recommendations for a good painter in the Las Vegas Valley? Thanks
  5. ORC will provide unofficial scoring for all classes in near realtime! We have dusted off our old tried and true scoring software and have assembled a new team of crusty scorers. ORC will be scoring (unofficialy) every vehicle that finishes up to midnight, Saturday night and maybe longer. We will clock each vehicle off the start and then across the finish line with as many results posts to the web as we can muster on Saturday. The URL to these results will be found via a link at http://race.off-road.com/2006+SCORE+baja+500
  6. We'll be setup with the RV's just outside the gates again this year. Last year we smoke'd up a case of baby back ribs and had a great time before and after the race events, both days. The race this year is on July 28th and 29th. If you are planning to attend the race,, stop and by and grab a few bones and brews. http://www.score-international.com/henderson/index.ihtml More details to follow.
  7. Yep, I know Bill Wik. Good for you helping out. Do you go to the baja races? The 500 is coming up fast!! Almost 400 entries!!!! FORTY Trophy Trucks!
  8. That was the hottest I have ever seen it at a race. Good action though especially along the gas pipeline. We'll be tailgating over night at the Terrible's Cup race again this year. Last year we smoked up 2 dozen full racks of Baby back ribs.
  9. This is a good spot for the Vegas to Reno race too. It's usually too hot then though.
  10. What is the preferred route to get there from Las Vegas for big Moho's? I keep hearing about some damn tunnel. My GPS software says to go east on Utah state highway 59 through Hurricane and then down to Colorado City, AZ where all the polygamists live then up to the dunes via highway 237. We have this scheduled but the Baja 500 is the week after and I am being called to duty down there. The following weekend after the 500 is our Centennial Hills Neighborhood Chili Cookoff. It's gonna be tight to run three weekends back to back.
  11. My small photo gallery is online now. http://bbs.off-road.com/photobb/showgallery.php/cat/3425
  12. All good! We had a late one Friday night. I was clawing around for cheap energy Saturday. The only downside of the west side is washboard aspect of the road. Our next trip is likely up to Sand Hollow.
  13. A great weekend! Super racing action! Here is one of my photos. More to come. SuperDave stopped by with friends. You should have come back later when the lunch buffet was out.
  14. See attached map for the race course. Amargosa is near Race Mile 165. Map2006TT250topo.pdf
  15. It looks like perfect weather on Friday and Saturday after a little rain (maybe) on Thursday. See http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/forecasts/graphica...age=2&element=T
  16. We are heading out at 1600hrs on friday. We aim to park by the kiddie track on the west side. We have friends from Hemet coming up Friday as well and folks from the office on Saturday. This will be the first time my 4 year old sees a desert race. Look for this rig with a Hawaiian flag flying abut 30' up. Stop by and say hello.
  17. I will also add that is your duty to educate the idiots away from supporting the eco-guilt corporations. Get in debate with these narrow minded arse-hats at every opportunity. You will find that the overwhleming majority have weak convictions on this matter and will listen and often change their minds. State facts, numbers, percentages, etc. Don't BS. Don't froth at the mouth. Logic, honestly and morallity are on our side. Go get 'em!
  18. I just PayPal'd as a Business Member. I would have done more. The site should promote contributions via payPal and leave the amount open. Now to the basics here.. I spent three years as a BLM RAC member representing permitted recreation (Desert Racing). Our job was to hammer out and present policy that worked for all, too include real conservationists, ranchers, miners, off-roaders, the wild horse people etc. I am proud of my time with the BLM and I'll be going back for another stint when I can clear personal time. Arse-hats like the Sierra Club and the CBD were only permitted in during public comment periods to make continuous, utter fools of themselves. I will tell you that every single thing you do to fight for your liberties and rights matters. You can sit on your butt and let someone else do it or get involved some how some way. If you choose the former, then good riddance! Go take up pottery or some other activity akin to your laziness. FODD, I advice you to band with ORBA, ASA and EcoLogic Partners ASAP. As for a protest ride! COUNT ME IN 100%! My old and dear Friend Rick "Superhunky" Sieman mastered that exposure back in the days of S21 in SoCal. Rick knows how to fight. He'll be at our annual chili cookoff on 6/10. If any FODD folks need some insight and incite :-) Rick can get you in gear. See http://www.baja.net/chili/
  19. Yep, the west side has much better camping areas IMHO.
  20. We are still going out on Friday. I think we'll camp on the west side for sure. Most of my regulars that go all have excuses. We do 19+ trips a year. Gotta use the toys and be with the family! Look for the Hawaiian Flag!
  21. I am not sure what the BLM could possibly say when the race course goes right through the access roads to the dunes at one point. There is a spectator area in Crystal and in Amargosa central this year so hopefully Barney will be busy there. We'll head out Friday afternoon and will likely be set up by the kiddie track on the west side.
  22. It looks like the BITD 250 race is using the exact same course as last year. We are gathering a group of people to check out the race and we expect to see the racers go by twice within an easy ride from camp. Here is my cheap map. The orange is the race course. Blue is the paved access on the east side of the dunes. Lightblue is the dirt access on the backside of the dunes. Look for the camp with the Hawaiian flag flying!
  23. Also understand that the US Fish and Wildlife people are total shils for the eco-a-holes. This is an uphill fight. Do not give up. How about a mass demonstration at CBD HQ in Tuscon?
  24. Election time is coming up. There is only one significant political party that will align with the CBD and reinforce their disgusting thievery and that is the GAD DAMN DISGUSTING DEMOCRATS!
  25. The Champ Car class is right on! That's one that should spread. Kenny has the right idea!!
