  1. Hello DDR, Just thought I'd post this photo (of a photo) of me back in 1992. I had this 87' Banshee with stock suspension. With the springs maxxed, still had some harsh landings :bash: Shortly after buying my first sandrail I sold this Banshee to Danny at Hytek ATV salvage for $1500. Why did he say it should have been melted? He pieced it out, and probably still has the frame in the rafters. Hello Danny, if you chill with DDR C-ya R-
  2. I measured 49.5" between the two upper bars at the seats. R-
  3. Hey Don, I'll throw a tape accross the car tonight when I get home tonight. I don't have a problem with space in it. I'm a smaller dude. But the belly is growing for some reason . One selling point for me was that the car fits in my toyhauler easily. 76" wide front 90" wide rear 13' overall length I do strap the front just so I don't rub the trailer at all. Nice thing about the 5link is you can strap it to narrow the width. although I only strap the front. R-
  4. Hi Nick, My car is about 1.5 years old. Dave at Hotrails has redesigned the shock mounts since I got mine. I don't know much about the XS. one differance is the 5link on mine and the XS is trail arm. mine has air coil overs and the XS has the duals with by-pass. I like the Honda at 265hp stock and over 400hp with the turbo. the motor setup can be purchased thru Carl at V-tec performance in Oregon also. These cars couldn't dune any better. one of the fastest up the hill, However I don't like to jump the car. To sum this all up, I wouldn't want any other car for me. $1,000,000.00 or not. c-ya R-
  5. Hey DDR, Great weekend! Could'nt have asked for better weather. It was nice to meet you all. Wish we would have hooked for rides. I think the first attempt was my bad. We'll have to hook up more in the future. Not sure when I'll be out again. John, you're welcome for the ride in my car. It's always a blast for me too. My pleasure. Joe, Hope your wife has a fast recovery. Good to see you again out there. Pete, Thanks for the heads-up to find you guys. hope you get the car back together soon. C-ya R-
  6. I had a 2276 carburated 11.5:1 compression in my VW car that lasted over 10 YEARS. Nobody understood that. I ran Valvoline 50wt racing. For the first 4 years or so I changed the oil and filter EVERY trip. After break-in I ran slick50 in it for two trips. Always keep the carbs synced. Valves adjusted. I retorqued the heads after the break-in. I even ran straight 100LL avgas that I was told would harm the motor. Ya, that's a lot of maintenance, But I feel it paid off. The longevity and performance was worth every bit. I now change my oil every other trip with the Honda Turbo. I guess the compression from the turbo pushes fuel by the rings into the oil. Just though another story may help. R-
  7. Hey 1320, I think 3rotortrav is right about what everybody claims. So I weighed mine at just under 1600 lbs. It's a small mid engine car. The Honda 3.5l v6 stock (no turbo) is 265hp, So with the turbo at 10 lbs of boost , I was told about 440 hp. Needless to say this is a good power to weight ratio. The car does well But I don't think it's all about the ratio. R-
