Most people on here know my lil bro-in-law Charlie. He has been riding since he was five by himself on the dunes with no problems. The LT80 that paul likes to wheelie on is his old bike that he used to drag race at amargosa. So I don't think they really crack down on anyone unless they are given a reason to.

I never said he wasn't good enough, but if you want to start that debate feel free. I am going with what 90 percent of the people on the ford diesel site recomend. He is one of the top listed but BTS is by far the most used/recomended. If John Woods can beet the quote from BTS and have it here soon, I might consider it. I just want something that I can count on to work when I need it.

Lets see, your first post and you're talking sh*t already. Actually I though about it, but why? The only issues I have really had have been the stupid transmission. Now if I could fix it and not have to worry about the tranny anymore, why would I get rid of my truck that can pull the trailer to get another one and start the payments all over again? Just can't justify it.

Yeah maybe two or three hours of work for me. To be honest he can tell me to F off if he wanted to. I'll be glad to do a drawing for him to get my new tranny. Its called the barter system you know? Except for I'd rather give my time rather than money.

Thats what I was thinking. I will just get the better one. I have wanted that trans since I got the truck. All I have to do is help him draw some mechanical drawings for something he is trying to patent. Easy enough for me.

For those of you that don't know. I have been fighting an ongoing tranny problem with my truck. The shop has chased down numerous problems and every time something else goes wrong. Well, this last trip was enough. Got through the gorge on the way to Coral Pink and the tranny puked all of the fluid out of the front seal. So here is the deal... The shop called me today. He told me he would buy me a new tranny from Ford or if I pay the difference get a BTS tranny. Should I just take the Ford unit and live with it or fork up the extra $1000-$1500 for the peace of mind? I am leaning toward the BTS, what do you guys think. In case you don't know, BTS is Brian's Truck Shop out of Lead Hill Arkansas. He gives you a 2 year unlimited mileage and dares you to try and break it. On www.thedieselstop.com he is the number one recomended tranny builder out there. So what do you think?

We take the Tecopa turn off. Haven't pulled the new trailer to Dumont yet, but if Pete can do it so can I. Bought the trailer too late last season to go out there. We will try it this October!

My observations! 1. My tranny hates me! Will it ever get fixed right????? BTS here I come! 2. DDR is always ready to help a fellow member or anyone for that matter out! 3. Pauly can jump anything! 3. Lil Charlie might be sterile now! Took a good crash and had a nerf bar to the nuts! Liitle trooper took it and still wouldn't get off the quad to get a ride back to camp. 4. Staying up for 40 hrs straight isn't so bad!?!? 5. Night search & rescue is fun in my buggy. I need better lights! 6. Pete makes a mean bratwurst! 7. Steveo really wants my toy hauler! 8. Always top off you trailer gas tank if you plan to leave the generator on all day so the kids can watch movies. 9. I LOVE CORAL PINK! All in all still had a good trip. Thanks to all the guys that helped me out. You know who you are. I appreciate it a lot. DDR is not only a bunch of people that hang out at the dunes it is FAMILY! Thanks DDR!

Dave, I heard you were wondering if I was still going. We plan to hit the road Friday afternoon when the kids get out of school. So if things go right I should be there by Sat morning! Good times. Got in a little late on Sat right after the guy looped his banshee. Helped pack up the lights a little and went and passed out. Woke up Sunday and went for a nice ride before loading up. Found out my father-in-laws 8.1 liter Chevy can still pull Potisi with the break away brake on! Pulled the hill at 30 wondering what the hell was wrong and got to the top to see the brakes smoking on his race-trailer. Almost lost the dog when we stopped to re-check the trailer brakes. Drove a half mile bfore the wife says "where's the dog?" Had to walk back to see here running towards us in the middle of the road. I would have never heard the end of that! Can't wait til Labor Day, I am itchin for some good riding! Thanks DDR! :DDR_rocks!: By the way, the mirror on Pauly's bike=priceless!

Hahaha actually I paid extra for a heavy duty one when I got the tranny rebuilt under warranty. I think the hard shifts when the solenoid pack was messed up might have killed it a little. Even if it takes me 6 hours to get there again, I am still going!
